An individual with such an attitude is often better equipped at handling situations with poise and grace because they possess the ability to remain optimistic even if the circumstances arent ideal.

When we wear a white shirt and go hiking, there is a good chance that it would get dirty. Our clean shirt would look way lighter when it is clean compared to when it is filthy. When Jesus washed away our sins, when He died on the cross, He saved us from sin, from the darkness.
Like a filthy shirt, we have been washed. When we were living in sin, it is like we were trapped in a dark and cramped room. Jesus shone His light in that dark and cramped room and washed away the darkness.

Our Weapons Against Growing Darkness
I believe thats the key to all that consumes usgratitude. A thankful heart pushes back the darkness and allows the light in. And gratitude is tied closely to perspective. 2020 was quite the year. For many, it brought great waves of anxiety and depression. Lack of social interaction, stress over finances and lay-offs, worry over potentially getting sick, low grocery stock in stores, and loneliness were just a few of the anxieties that many people across the entire world shared. We fought over toilet paper, we fought over politics, and we fought over the right way to handle a very unprecedented crisis.
Alone, together as one commercial put it. There was nowhere to go to escape the new reality that Americaand the world at largefound themselves in.
It seemed as if a curtain of darkness consumed most of 2020.
And yet, at the end of the year, my social media newsfeeds were flooded with posts of thankfulness. Users asked their friends to comment and share something good that happened during the year. Drawing Close To The Light
Have you ever wondered why many great men of God such as Peter, Paul, etc. had a great revelation of their sinfulness?
It is because when you start seeking the face of God you get closer to the light. When you start getting closer to the light you start to see more sin than ever before. Some Christians are not that close to the light.
They stay at a distance so the light doesnt shine on their great sinfulness. When I first became a Christian I didnt truly understand how sinful I was. As I started to grow and sought to know God and be alone with Him, the light shined brighter and brighter and it showed me different areas in my life where I fell short in.
If Jesus Christ did not die for my sins, then I have no hope. The light makes the cross of Jesus Christ even more glorious. Jesus is my only claim. This is why as believers as we walk in the light we continually confess our sins. You must get closer to the light.
