You Reap What You Sow

God, who has all power and all wisdom, has given each person a free will, which God respects within His laws. Having a free will does not mean that we can do whatever we want without suffering the consequences, because even though we have a free will, we are still responsible for the choices that we make. We can choose to sow whatever we want, but we cannot choose what we will reap.

For whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. Galatians 6:7-8.

Top 11 Bible Verses That Support Free Will ...

In the beginning of the reign of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah came this word from the LORD, saying, Thus saith the LORD Stand in the court of the LORDS house, and speak unto all the cities of Judah, which come to worship in the LORDS house, all the words that I command thee to speak unto them diminish not a word: If so be they will hearken, and turn every man from his evil way, that I may repent me of the evil, which I purpose to do unto them because of the evil of their doings. And thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD If ye will not hearken to me, to walk in my law, which I have set before you, To hearken to the words of my servants the prophets, whom I sent unto you, both rising up early, and sending them, but ye have not hearkened Then will I make this house like Shiloh, and will make this city a curse to all the nations of the earth.

And it came to pass in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, that this word came unto Jeremiah from the LORD, saying, Take thee a roll of a book, and write therein all the words that I have spoken unto thee against Israel, and against Judah, and against all the nations, from the day I spake unto thee, from the days of Josiah, even unto this day. It may be that the house of Judah will hear all the evil which I purpose to do unto them that they may return every man from his evil way that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin.

When Does Human Life Begin

God views human life as beginning at conception. In his Word, the Bible, God consistently portrays an unborn child as a distinct person. Consider some examples indicating that God does not draw a distinction between the life of a baby in the womb and one that has been born.

  • Under divine inspiration, King David said to God: Your eyes even saw me as an embryo. God considered David to be a person even before he was born.

  • Additionally, God knew that he would have a special purpose for the prophet Jeremiah before Jeremiahs birth. God said to him: Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I sanctified you. I made you a prophet to the nations.Jeremiah 1:5.

  • The Bible writer Luke, a physician, used the same Greek word to describe an unborn baby as he did to describe a newborn baby.Luke 1:41 2:12, 16.

What Does The Bible Say About Slavery

Ask a Question!NewsletterQuestion:

Answer: The Old Testament does permit slavery but only under special circumstances and with restrictions. The Bible says an Israelite father could sell his daughter as a slave , the child of a widow could be sold as one to pay her father’s debt , and both men and women could sell themselves into slavery .

Slavery within Israel was meant to be far more humane than the practices adopted by the rest of the world. The Bible commanded that those in such bondage receive good treatment . They were allowed to have a wife, children, and even their own money .

Slaves, in the Old Testament, could receive gifts when freed . Males, after circumcision , were allowed to partake in the Passover and other religious ceremonies in worshipping God.

Those who were subjected to any form of slavery could receive their freedom in a number of ways. They could be bought or redeemed out of servitude . If they worked six years, in the seventh year of service they were set free .

In the Jubilee year, all those in servitude were set free . Servants who were abused by their master and maimed were also released . Those under the burden of slavery could also be set free directly by God .

In the New Testament, Jesus never deals directly with the issue of slavery one way or the other in his teachings. It should also be noted that the Greek word doulos , translated “servant,” can mean “slave,” however, or vice versa.

Verses Discussing Mans Responsibility And Culpability:

5. Ezekiel 18:20 The person who sins will die. The son will not bear the punishment for the fathers iniquity, nor will the father bear the punishment for the sons iniquity the righteousness of the righteous will be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked will be upon himself.

6. Matthew 12:37 For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.

7. John 9:41 Jesus said to them, If you were blind, you would have no sin but since you say, We see, your sin remains.

The term Free will is not found anywhere in scripture. But we can see verses that describe the very heart of man, the core of his will. We understand that mans will is limited by his nature. Man cannot flap his arms and fly, however much he wills it. The problem isnt with his will its with mans nature. Man was not created to fly like a bird. Because it is not his nature, he is not free to do it. So, what is mans nature?

The Paradox Of Free Will

HIDDEN BIBLE TEACHING Explains How To Talk To God (THERES NO GOING BACK)

In rabbinic literature, there is much discussion as to the apparent contradiction between God’s omniscience and free will. The representative view is that “Everything is foreseen yet free will is given” . Based on this understanding, the problem is formally described as a paradox, beyond our understanding.

The Holy One, Blessed Be He, knows everything that will happen before it has happened. So does He know whether a particular person will be righteous or wicked, or not? If He does know, then it will be impossible for that person not to be righteous. If He knows that he will be righteous but that it is possible for him to be wicked, then He does not know everything that He has created. …he Holy One, Blessed Be He, does not have any temperaments and is outside such realms, unlike people, whose selves and temperaments are two separate things. God and His temperaments are one, and God’s existence is beyond the comprehension of Man⦠we do not have the capabilities to comprehend how the Holy One, Blessed Be He, knows all creations and events. know without doubt that people do what they want without the Holy One, Blessed Be He, forcing or decreeing upon them to do so… It has been said because of this that a man is judged according to all his actions.

  • God had planned you even before you were born or before you were in our mothers womb .
  • He planned things for you in the future before the earth or time existed .

Does Everyone Have Free Will

Or perhaps we should say it differently: is everyone free? John Piper advocates for this subtle shift in our language: So instead of speaking of the will as free or not, I prefer to speak of people as free or not because that is the way the Bible does.

You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh rather, serve one another humbly in love.

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

*Bold emphasis added.

Its a topic that comes up a lot in Scripture, but notice how each of these verses reveals something different about freedom:

  • Freedom is something believers are called to .
  • We need Jesus to set us free .
  • Freedom is found in the presence of the Spirit .
  • Only Jesus can give us true freedom .
  • So no, everyone is not free. No matter how hotly we might insist on our autonomy if Jesus has not freed us from the bondage of sin, then we are still slaves to it . It is only by His mercy and grace that we are given the freedom to come , live , and declare the Lordship of Jesus Christ . And it is only through His lovingkindness that we can truly make choices unfettered by a nature that is hostile toward Goda nature we are all born with.

    A Warning To Christian Pastors

I have to say, someone who teaches that God approves of rulers who murder the unborn, and steal our rights as free people, is slapping God in the face.

Thats perverting the Word of God to drive someones idea of what is right and wrong. It disturbs me greatly that a Christian would distort what God said to fit their ideology.

No Christian should ever, ever do that.

No Christian should ever shame another into believing they must obey an evil government that hates God. If our government loved God, God would be number 1.

    Yet, it’s exactly the opposite.

Easily proven as God has been driven out of our life and government, and replaced with perversion and sin. The government helped make that a reality, rulers like that are not of God, they are not ministers of God.

Your take away, your health, no matter what we are talking about always remains your decision. The Bible does not grant an unrighteous government to make those decisions for you, whether they are mandates or laws.

Now that we understand Christians are not compelled to follow unrighteous rulers…

    Free Will And Creation

According to the Mishnah, “This world is like a vestibule before the World to Come“. According to an 18th century rabbinic work, “Man was created for the sole purpose of rejoicing in God, and deriving pleasure from the splendor of His Presence⦠The place where this joy may truly be derived is the World to Come, which was expressly created to provide for it but the path to the object of our desires is this world…” Free will is thus required by God’s justice, “otherwise, Man would not be given or denied good for actions over which he had no control”.

It is further understood that in order for Man to have true free choice, he must not only have inner free will, but also an environment in which a choice between obedience and disobedience exists. God thus created the world such that both good and evil can operate freely, this is the meaning of the rabbinic maxim, “All is in the hands of Heaven except the fear of Heaven”.

    According to Maimonides,
