The plague of darkness was described as being so dark that it could be felt . The darkness lasted three days. However the Israelites had light in their houses. After a time Pharaoh requested an end to the plague by offering to let the Israel go, but they would have to leave their cattle. Moses refused to accept the offer, but left saying that by the time the Israelites left Egypt then Pharaoh would be giving goods to Israel.

Given the ubiquity of religion in most human communities throughout history, it is not surprising reflections on pandemics often begin with God. Plagues and diseases on such a scale feel biblical in the sense they are beyond the norm and therefore supernatural in some way. While modern science gives us insight into COVID-19, we still look for someone, anyone, to blame for its presence.
In antiquity, that someone was often God.
One of the earliest records of plagues comes from the Hebrew Bible. Anyone who has celebrated Passover, read the biblical book of Exodus, or seen the animated Dreamworks movie Prince of Egypt will be familiar with the plagues that Moses unleashed on Egypt when Pharaoh would not free the enslaved Hebrews.
Not all of the plagues were disease, but they all brought destruction and potential death. In that ancient narrative, a plague served two functions: it is divine punishment for injustice, and an assertion of religious power in the battle between Egypts gods and the god of the Hebrews. In the Hebrew Bible texts, Pharaohs refusal to release the slaves is to blame. It is his fault.

This plague only effected the Egyptians cattle. Exodus 9:3 says, Behold, the hand of the LORD is upon thy cattle which is in the field, upon the horses, upon the asses, upon the camels, upon the oxen, and upon the sheep: there shall be a very grievous murrain. Verse 6 says that all the cattle of the Egyptians died. But, again, none of the Israelites cattle were harmed .

The seventh plague is that of pestilence . The Most High also declares that these plagues, would act as sign.
So that YHWHs name is declared throughout the whole earth.
It is evident that YHWHs name has been declared because I am writing about this event, some 4000 plus years later.
There are also bibles found in multiple languages, which document the events Im explaining to the world.
In this case it rained down hail mingled with fire, which had never been witnessed before. The hail would was so strong that it killed anybody caught in it.

23 And Moses stretched forth his rod toward heaven: and the Lord sent thunder and hail, and the fire ran along upon the ground and the Lord rained hail upon the land of Egypt.
24 So there was hail, and fire mingled with the hail, very grievous, such as there was none like it in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation.
25 And the hail smote throughout all the land of Egypt all that was in the field, both man and beast and the hail smote every herb of the field, and brake every tree of the field.
26 Only in the land of Goshen, where the children of Israel were, was there no hail.
Today this seems like such a horrific thing as people now make no differences between right and wrong.
In reality this is justified as the Most High made it happen, because of the injustice and bondage Pharoah put on Israel.
This was done by giving by telling them when it would take place, so they could be in their houses at that time.
The Battle That Takes Place Is Called Armageddon
Revelation 16:6 references the Battle of Armageddon. A great conflict occurs at a place called Armageddon, where several battles take place in the Old Testament. Revelation 16:16 says, And they assembled them at the place that in Hebrew is called Armageddon. This is sometimes spelled Harmagedon. The Hebrew name means mountain of Megiddo, a place located in northern Israel. This name is more symbolic than it is geographical. There is excellent symbolic meaning from Armageddon and Megiddo as it a place whereof opponents of God met their defeat. If we say that the forces opposing God gathered at Armageddon, meaning they were gathering for their defeat.

Examples Of Plagues In The Bible
There are several times we see judgments from God in the form of plagues in the Bible. This is not an exhaustive list, but it should help provide a framework for when plagues are discussed in Scripture.
- God sent ten plagues upon the Egyptians before the Israelites left Egypt. These plagues include the plague of blood, the plague of frogs, the plague of lice , the plague of flies, the plague of livestock, the plague of boils, the plague of hail, the plague of locusts, the plague of darkness, and the death of the firstborn .

In the second book of the Bible, the 10 Plagues of Egypt describes disasters inflicted by God to force the Pharaoh to allow the Israelites to depart from slavery to the Promised Land. They serve as the signs and marvels given by God to answer the taunts and show the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord. The storm destroyed many crops as well as people and animals in the fields. The land of Goshen was again spared the punishment.

The fourth plague is even murkier than the third. The King James version of Exodus translates this plague as one of flies. However, Bible Review notes that other translations have this plague as wild animals. The Hebrew term used in the Old Testament, arov, means “mixture,” so it has been hard to pinpoint exactly what this plague was.
In fact, the Haggadah, the Jewish text for the Passover ritual sedar, has often been decorated with fierce beasts to depict the fourth plague. This seems to be due to translation issues over time, with debate over whether the term meant a mixture of wild animals or a mixture of insects. It is perhaps more likely that this plague was indeed insects of some kind, since it is hard to imagine lions, tigers, and wolves invading the pharaoh’s land en masse.
If the fourth plague is interpreted as flies, it fits more tightly with the speculative framework of the Ten Plagues of Egypt being linked to scientific climate change. As analyzed in “Origin of the Old Testament Plagues: Explications and Implications,” which promotes a climate warming theory, “Biting flies, having hatched in soil heavily polluted with animal urine and feces, also would have become abundant with warming weather.” Indeed, flies would have easily bred in a land strewn with frog corpses.
The pharaoh at first agreed to let the Israelites go to the wilderness to pray for three days if Moses ended the plague. But he went back on his word.

Then Pharaoh sent and called Moses and Aaron and said to them, This time I have sinned the LORD is in the right, and I and my people are in the wrong .
At other times, God sent a plague against his own people to judge their sin. God sent numerous prophets to the people of Judah, but they still did not turn from their sin. So Jeremiah reports Gods Word when he said, Though they fast, I will not hear their cry, and though they offer burnt offering and grain offering, I will not accept them. But I will consume them by the sword, by famine, and by pestilence .
The second lesson to understand from a biblical plague is that God usually extends mercy in a time of plague. At the same time God sent plagues to the people of Egypt, he also showed a measure of mercy to the people of Israel. He gave Moses, the leader of the Israelites, a way of deliverance while Egypt was being judged:

Plague Of Locusts Exodus : 1
Moses came to Pharaoh once again, but he refused to let the children of Israel free, not even at the request of his servants who were ready to be done with the plagues . Pharaoh did consent to let the men of Israel go, but not the women and children. Moses raised his rod over Egypt and brought on a strong east wind for a day. After the wind came the plague of locusts. These are what we call grasshoppers today which came in and ate the rest of the crops and trees which were not destroyed by the hail in the previous plague.
