The Tribulation Kingdom Of The Antichrist Will Be Defined By Homosexuality And Religious Pluralism

What The Bible Really Says About Being Gay

Revelation 6 warns that the end-times Antichrist will ride forth on a white horse conquering and to conquer holding aloft a bow .

Chapter 6 of the Revelation of Jesus Christ to the Apostle John closely parallels a portion of the Olivet Discourse in Matt 24, Luke 21, and Mark 13, in which Jesus summarized the sequences of end time events before His return. The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse represent the four phases or aspects of what Jesus calls the beginning of sorrows just before the start of the tribulation .

The white horse represents the Antichrist, and the bow which he holds is almost certainly the rainbow. Remember that the Antichrist is an imposter who seeks to deceive the world into thinking he is the messiah. The real Christ will return in the clouds at His second coming , and on a white horse. Revelation 19:11 states And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and He who sat on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war.

Remember also that the rainbow, which God set in the clouds after the great flood is the symbol of Gods authority over the earth and evidence of His presence . The Antichrist will apparently appropriate the symbol of the rainbow for himself as part of his claim to deity.

Reasons God Loves Gay Christians

1.The term homosexual didnt exist until 1892. Some modern Bible translations say that homosexuals will not inherit the kingdom of God, but neither the concept nor the word for people with exclusive same-sex attraction existed before the late 19th century. While the Bible rejects lustful same-sex behavior, thats very different from a condemnation of all gay people and relationships.

2. Sexual orientation is a new conceptone that the Christian tradition hasnt addressed. Many Christians draw on their faiths traditions to shape their beliefs, but the concept of sexual orientation is new. Until recent decades, same-sex behavior was placed in the same category with gluttony or drunkenness as a vice of excess anyone might be prone to not as the expression of a sexual orientation. The Christian tradition has never spoken to the modern issue of LGBT people and their relationships.

3. Celibacy is a gift, not a mandate. The Bible honors celibacy as a good way of living Jesus was celibate, after all but it also makes clear that celibacy must be a voluntary choice. Requiring that all gay people remain celibate is at odds with the Bibles teachings on celibacy, which are grounded Scriptures core affirmation that Gods physical creation is good.

Biblical Marriage Is Heterosexual

In addition to these outright condemnations, the bible consistently speaks of marriage as a heterosexual union. God created man and woman. For this reason shall a man leave his parents and cleave to his wife . To avoid fornication let each man have his own wife and each woman have her own husband . Bishops and deacons should be the husband of one wife . Heterosexual marriage is the clear ideal set out in scripture as the counter to sexual promiscuity.

Gay advocates often allude to the fact that Jesus himself never condemned homosexuality. The simple response to this is that it does not matter. The bible does not just consist of Jesus statements. He authorized his apostles to speak on his behalf things he could not teach during his limited time on earth. Also Jesus purpose was not to teach everything that there is to be taught. This he delegated to his apostles. His real purpose was to die for the sins of men. Even so, he did teach about marriage in general, and clearly spoke in terms of heterosexual marriage.

If Jesus had met a homosexual, I believe he would have handled it the same way as he did the woman at the well. He would not have scorned the person or crossed the street. He would have been moved with compassion, but would still firmly point out the persons sin and need for repentance.

Homosexuality: One Parishioner’s Perspective

Yes, the bible says being gay is wrong, but is also says ...

Some Christians say that The Bible makes it clear that homosexuality is an abomination to God. As a Christian, I have to admit that until recently I had never thoroughly explored the Biblical position on homosexuality. I decided to review the topic of homosexuality in The Bible in order to get a better perspective on why some Christians find homosexuality so troubling. In my review, I found that the word homosexual does not appear in the Bible. The word homosexual first was used in the English language during the eighteenth century.

Also, the word homosexual is used less often today because many feel that the word has negative connotations. Therefore, the more politically correct reference to homosexuals is the acronym LGBT . The acronym stands for lesbians gays bisexuals and trans-gendered. The letter Q is sometimes used to refer to those who are questioning their sexual identity. The acronym most commonly used is LGBT.

The acronym, LGBT, first entered into widespread use in the 1990s. It was part of a general sensitivity movement. For example, prior to the 1990s it was not uncommon for adolescent boys to refer to other boys as queers, fagots, or fags. Such name calling is a form of bullying, and schools are now very strict in disciplining the use of inappropriate language. Likewise, corporate America has discovered that bias against all kinds of minority groups is bad for business. So, overt discrimination against members of the LGBT community is not tolerated.

If The Essence Of Torah Is Love As Jesus Says It Is Then Committed Gay Relationships Hardly Fall Afoul Of The Bible

The writings from the New Testament period are the written record of Jesus followers trying to work out his life, what he said, and what it all meant. Two thousand years later, we are still “working out” the memory of Jesus. Sometimes, as with discussions of diplomacy and peace, working out this memory means applying Jesus own principles to the debate. And sometimes, as with slaverya system to which Jesus referred, though never condemnedworking out this memory means complicating it and showing it to be limited by historical ignorance.

To put it in a more ornery wayperhaps in the spirit of a certain Jewish prophetits the memory of Jesus that allows me, that compels me, to question the memory of Jesus, and, when necessary, to challenge his worldview, which is so obviously limited by his ancient context. After all, its Jesus who made a career out of questioning the received wisdom of religious authorities. Youve heard it said like this, he would suggest, but why not reconsider it this way? Given what we know about Jesus humility, why wouldn’t he be open to changing his mind?

So did this woman actually change the Son of Gods mind?

I think so, Kirk says.

The Bible And Homosexuality

There are a number of passages in the Hebrew Bible and the New Testament that have been interpreted as involving same-sex sexual acts and desires. The passages about homosexuality in the Hebrew Bible start as early as the Torah . Several scriptures in the New Testament also reference homosexuality, including the Gospel in the books of Matthew, Luke, and various letters from Saint Paul to the early churches in Asia Minor.

Genesis 19 And Leviticus

The story of Sodom and Gomorrah in Genesis 19 is well known. This is where the terms “sodomite” and “sodomy” originate, and it has long been associated with biblical condemnation of male homosexual sex. It is, however, actually about gang-rape.

In this story, the men of Sodom seek to rape two visitors . Their host, Lot, defends them and offers them protection in his house, but offers his virgin daughters to be raped in their place.

It is a deeply problematic and complex story that warrants an article of its own, but what is clear is that sexual violence and rape is harshly condemned, and so God destroys the town with sulphur and fire.

Despite the linguistic history of the word “sodomite”, Genesis 19 has nothing to say about homosexuality or mutually consenting adults of the same gender expressing their desire and love.

Two of the laws of Leviticus seem more pertinent. They call a man lying with another man instead of his wife an “abomination”.

We should note first that the imagined scenario is a married man committing adultery with another male. It is not describing what we would understand to be a sexual orientation.

We might also note the inherent sexism here: women apparently don’t have the same desire or their sexuality is deemed too insignificant to be worthy of comment.

Banned likewise is wearing mixed-fabric clothing, interbreeding animals of different species, tattoos, mocking the blind by putting obstacles in their way, and trimming your beard.

Leviticus : 13 On Death Punishment For Homosexuality

What the Bible says about homosexuality | Kristin Saylor & Jim O’Hanlon | TEDxEdgemontSchool

If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination they shall surely be put to death their blood is upon them.

After God delivered the Israelite from the hands of Pharaoh, God created many laws for them to live according to his will.

One of those laws was severe punishment if any man or woman committed the sin of homosexuality. If you are Gay, you shall die.

So, why dont gay men and women die from their sin?

Gods commandment to the Jews in the book of Leviticus instructed death for anyone that is involved in homosexuality. However, this is not applicable today.

This is because we have been set free from the law of Moses through Christs death. Christs death put away the curse of the law, and we are set free in liberty.

The law is not based on faith on the contrary, it says, The person who does these things will live by them.Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole. Galatians 3: 12, 13

However, this does not mean we can live in sin. We must live in ways that please God. If we indulge in homosexuality that does not bring praise to the body of Christ, we fall from his grace of eternal life.

The One Flesh Paradigm: Gods Exclusive Standard For Sexuality And The Model For His Relationship With Mankind

In Genesis 1:27 & 2:24 God sets forth the exclusive one flesh paradigm for human sexuality: the lifelong, faithful union of one man and one woman created in His image for procreation. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him male and female created he them .

This male/female complimentarity, consummated in marriage, reflects the very relationship of God and Man, as the Apostle Paul explains in Ephesians 5, citing Genesis 2:24.

For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

All sex outside of marriage is thus wrong and harmful spiritually equivalent to worshipping false gods as in fact God condemns as adultery all idolatry by His people.

The Wickedness Of The Kings Of Judah And Israel Was Measured By The Degree To Which They Embraced Sexual Perversion

In 2 Kings 23, Josiah is named as the most righteous of all the Kings in part because he broke down the houses of the Sodomites who were in the House of the Lord ending what Solomon had begun 300 years before.

Central to the worship of the demon gods of the heathens were fertility rituals including practices involving sexual perversion, which is why God always equates idolatry with adultery in the Bible. As you read the following description of Josiahs reforms, remember that all of this idolatry was occurring in or near the Temple of God:

The sacred pillars and Asherim in this passage were fertility symbols, most likely including giant phalluses carved from oak trees, which were the central feature of the sacred oak groves often found on the high places where the demons were worshiped through male and female prostitution. The ritual of kissing under the mistletoe derives from this ancient pagan association of sex with oak trees, as mistletoe is a parasite most commonly found in oak groves.

Q12 How Can We Help Christians Who Get Involved In The Practice Of Homosexuality Or Who Become Christians And Have Had These Kinds Of Experiences Or Have Same Sex Attraction

Addictions rewire the brain, whether it is pornography, alcoholism, or smoking. People get into patterns and habits that are hard to break and leave a permanent deep-seated impact. Sexual activities make a lasting impact on who we are. Gods grace forgives and cleanses. God forgives. Yet being Jesus disciple is a life-long pursuit. We all have come through different experiences, and have different struggles. Regardless of what the struggles are Christians must be committed to life-long ministry with one another.

Remaining mentally and morally pure to ones spouse is a lifelong intentional battle for heterosexual people. Sexual issues are deep ones because they go to the core of our beings as humans. Why should we expect it would be any different for those encountering same-sex attraction issues? Some may have a more immediate, complete victory over this. Most will probably be like you and me. They will have victory over temptations one day at a time through Gods grace. This will come for us all as we grow in understanding our identity in Christ. This is not simply a sin-management attempt, but a walk in knowing and becoming like Christ.

St Problem With The Lgbt Interpretation

Pin on #DirectionProtection

There are a number of problems with their view. If Paul wanted to describe pederasty, there was another Greek word that he could have used instead paiderastes. The fact that he did not use that word says a lot. He also describes this behavior as sinful. Why would he condemn someone who is being sexually abused? Even the Old Testament does not condemn victims of rape and abuse.

Further, the sinful behaviors listed in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 and 1 Timothy 1:9-10 are so general, it is academically dishonest to limit the scope of any of them. For example, one of them is thieves . Should we limit this to only those who steal from the Temple? There is nothing in the context of these passages to imply that the scope should be limited. Paul was deliberately being general.

Although malakoi is rarely used in the New Testament, it does appear in classical Greek writings. One example is Roman Antiquities , where it refers to those who allow themselves to be used homosexually. So even effeminate in the KJV is a poor translation. Effeminate can simply mean unmanly or girly. But malakoi is clearly being used in a sexual context. Most reliable lexicons translate it as the passive partner in a homosexual relationship.

Whats Gods Purpose For Man And Woman

At the beginning of the world, God created all things according to His likeness and then thought it necessary to create man after his own image.

So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them male and female he created them.God blessed them and said to them, Be fruitful and increase in number fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground. Genesis 1: 27, 28

Gods purpose was to create a resemblance of himself that will worship him and do his will.

The LORD God said, It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him. Genesis 2:18

So, God caused Adam to fall into a deep sleep, collected one of his ribs and created the woman

So the LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep and while he was sleeping, he took one of the mans ribs and then closed up the place with flesh. Genesis 2: 21

And then, Adam had a companion and a helper on earth. Then, in verse 24 he said

That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh

This is the marriage covenant of God. God has a purpose for man and never wanted same-sex marriage or relationship to happen. Adam and Eve were the first human creatures and did not have parents. Yet, because of Gods covenant, they knew it was Gods purpose for a man and woman to be in a union.
