What the Bible Says About Success – For Christian Women Entrepreneurs

Deuteronomy 25:14-16 You shall not have in your house differing measures, a large and a small. You shall have a perfect and just weight, a perfect and just measure, that your days may be lengthened in the land which the LORD your God is giving you. For all who do such things, all who behave unrighteously, are an abomination to the LORD your God.

Our God is the God of justice, fairness and fair wages for fair work. God is saying: You must not cheat. Well if you cheat, you get caught and punished. How do you get punished as an entrepreneur? You loose credibility and trust, and your clients go and buy from your competition. This is how many large corporations have closed down. When business leaders start cutting corners, their clients soon find out and they punish them very hard.

In order to help entrepreneurs from Tembisa to implement what we are learning via these articles, I have set up what I call the Joseph Achievers Mentoring programme. The programme is based on Joseph in the Bible, who rose to prominence despite his background.

I am encouraging all Tembisa residents to join. The programme is aimed at supporting all residents, but it targets mainly entrepreneurs, young professionals, university students and high school learners. It offers a range of support initiatives including career guidance, training and mentoring.

Treat Your Employees Fairly

One of the most difficult parts of running a business is dealing with employee issues. Employees can be demanding: raises, time off, expenses, conflicts and more. When confronted with these issues, I just thought about the principle of paying employees on time: The wages of a worker shall not remain with you all night until the morning . The Torah also commands us not to take advantage of your employees: You shall not abuse a needy and destitute laborer, whether a fellow countryman or a stranger . This taught me to always treat employees equally and fairly. I applied an absolute level of fairness among all our employees when it came to pay and all other issues. Race, age, gender, religion, color these had no bearing. It is always difficult to say no, but when you develop a reputation for fairness to your employees, they respect you more and know that they were treated properly.

What Does Jesus Say About Work

Colossians 3:22 says, You who are servants who are owned by someone, obey your owners. Work hard for them all the time, not just when they are watching you. Work for them as you would for the Lord because you honor God. When we obey the authority figures in our life, we are ultimately serving Christ.

Taking A Biblical Approach To Business Ownership

Pin on Success Bible Verses

Owning your own business is one of the most difficult yet rewarding experience that anyone can undertake. When you find something that youre passionate about and realize that you can make a better life for yourself and your loved ones, the level of excitement that you experience is immeasurable. However, its even more important to take a Godly approach to owning your own business. After all, as a child of God, everything you do should be done in order to bring glory to Him.

That poses the question that many business owners face: is it possible to be successful in business while still operating under Godly principles? The world teaches us that its not possible. Society teaches that if youre going to achieve real success, you have to be willing to lie, cheat, and manipulate yourself to the top. The principle of looking out for number one is at the heart of what our culture teaches us is the key to success. As a Christian, you understand that the worlds path to the top doesnt actually work. Instead, you know that the ultimate measure of your success is found in living a life that aligns with Scripture.

You can find success in business while still operating on Godly principles. The key is simply by allowing yourself to be guided by the Holy Spirit and the principles laid out in Scripture.

What Does The Bible Say About Money

The bible says many things about money, but the heart of the matter is this: money can become something that rules our livesâan idol ofsorts. God’s desire is for us to have life to the full andHe knows that worshiping money will keep us from that.

From the seduction of success to the lure of lust, many things in this world will vie for your affection and devotion. But the most significant idol you will face is money .

Gods Blessing Is Not Necessarily Related To Favorable Circumstances

Was Joseph more blessed by God or more successful when he was at the top of Potiphars household than when he was in the dungeon? Clearly not! They were just different phases of Gods training program in which He was preparing Joseph for the job He had for him under Pharaoh. We are mistaken when we think that if everything is going well, God is blessing us, but that when trials or problems hit, He has withdrawn His blessing. His blessing isnt necessarily related to favorable circumstances.

Josephs circumstances in the prison were anything but favorable, at least at first. Psalm 105:18 gives us a glimpse of reality when it states, They afflicted his feet with fetters, he himself was laid in irons. The NIV translates, They bruised his feet with shackles, his neck was put in irons. The dungeon was most likely beneath Potiphars house , probably with no windows, a dark and unpleasant place, especially if you had irons on your feet and neck!

But Gods blessing often comes through trials. Every person God uses must go through times of training and testing, where character is refined. You see it in Moses, who was the most competent, gifted man you could have chosen to lead Israel, a man trained in all the knowledge of the Egyptians. But he had to spend 40 years in the wilderness in order to be trained in the ways of the Lord before he could lead Gods people to Canaan.

Does God Provide Financial Success

Yes and there is nothing wrong with blessings. I pray for this blessing. But God blesses us so we can be a blessing to others, not so we can be greedy. If God blesses you financially glory to God. If He blesses you with trials, which helps you bear fruit, grow, and know God more, then glory to God.

13. Deuteronomy 8:18 You shall remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you power to get wealth, that he may confirm his covenant that he swore to your fathers, as it is this day.

When you are in Gods will He will open doors for you. Evangelism, school, spouse, jobs, etc.

14. Genesis 24:40 He replied, The LORD, before whom I have walked faithfully, will send his angel with you and make your journey a success, so that you can get a wife for my son from my own clan and from my fathers family.

15. Proverbs 2:7 He holds success in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless,

16. 1 Samuel 18:14 In everything he did he had great success, because the LORD was with him.

17. Revelation 3:8 I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.

Worship With Your Money

BIBLE VERSES FOR BUSINESS SUCCESS AND PROSPERITY – Evangelist Joshua Orekhie

If youâre not careful, it can be easy to place your hope in money. Money is something we can hold in our hands or look at in our bank account. We feel the weight of its absence or possess a sense of self-sufficiency when we have it in abundance. In Bible verses about putting your hope in money, youâre going to come across a ton of warnings:

  • âBe careful!â
  • âGuard your heart!â
  • âDonât be a fool with your money!â

When it comes to money, wealthy people are not the only ones who will be tempted to sin. Regardless of how much money you have, youâll be tempted to sin in different ways.

Instead of placing your hope in money or whatever generates income, place your hope in God. He owns everything, and he will provide you with what you need to live your life for him.

Check out these Bible verses about putting your hope in money:

1 Samuel 2:7: “The LORD makes poor and makes rich he brings low and he exalts.â

Money Is About Discipleship

Money is a tool God uses to help us live and love like Jesus. Regardless of how muchâor how littleâmoney you have, God is at work in your life through your circumstances. He is leading you to a deeper trust in him. This is exactly what we see in Philippians 4:11-12:

“Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need.”

Are you struggling financially? Or are you swimming in a financial abundance? Do you have a love of money that isn’t healthy?

Regardless of your situation, instead of asking âwhyâ or just saying âthanks,â be sure to ask God what you can learn since there is a connection between your faith and money.

  • âMatthew 6:24: âNo one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.ââ
  • Luke 12:34:“For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.ââ
  • Luke 16:11-12:“If then you have not been faithful in the unrighteous wealth, who will entrust to you the true riches? And if you have not been faithful in that which is anotherâs, who will give you that which is your own?”

Be Diligent And Not Lazy

Throughout Proverbs, we see the importance of hard work emphasized. We are taught that we need to be diligent in our endeavors.

The word diligent is defined as having or showing care and conscientiousness in ones work or duties.

Lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth.Proverbs 10:4

She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Proverbs 31:27

These two verses from Proverbs teaches us that we need to care about the work we are doing. Through our diligent work, we are to love our coworkers, and customers by doing our work well. Not only that, but our hard work will also provide success to our businesses.

We must not be lazy either. In Proverbs 31, we learn about the wife of noble character. In verse 27, we read that she did not eat the bread of idleness. She was keen on the fact that laziness does not provide results. It is crucial to watch over the affairs of our work to see that they are profitable.

What To Do Once You Are Profitable

The Torah teaches us not only how to build a successful business, but also what to do once it is successful. The Bible teaches us to be socially responsible and not forget about those that dont have food to eat. We have a social responsibility to our communities. We are obligated to donate a portion of our profits to the needy. Encourage your employees, partners and customers to also be charitable through incentive, matching and other programs. Donate a portion of your profits to charity. Run promotions that contribute a portion of every sale to charity. Match your employee charitable giving to encourage them to be charitable. Encourage your employees to do community service. Use your business as a vehicle for community improvement. The generous soul will be made rich, and he who waters will also be watered himself .

View your work as a means, not an end. When we help others, we feel fulfilled and accomplished. When you leverage your business to improve the community around you, you wake up every day and appreciate what you have accomplished for the community. As King Solomon said, Our work is meaningless unless it is to do good . Lets use our success to be socially responsible and we will live much more meaningful lives.

5 Biblical Business Principles From Proverbs

When we apply Scripture verses to our goals, we always want to tread carefully because we need to first be sure that our goals align with Gods will for us. They should not contract the Word and character of God.

Whatever your goal may be, first examine its purpose and then look at it through these biblical keys.
