What Does The Bible Say About Why We Are Here

Why Do We Find Dinosaur Fossils

What Does God Want Us to Do? What Does the Bible Say? Why Are We Here?

In , we read that all flesh had corrupted his way upon the Earth . Perhaps people and animals were killing each other maybe dinosaurs had started killing other animals and humans. In any case, the Bible describes the world as wicked.

Because of this wickedness, God warned a godly man named Noah that He was going to destroy the world with a Flood . God therefore commanded him to build a great ship so that all the kinds of land animals and Noahs family could survive on board while the Flood destroyed the entire Earth .

Some people think that dinosaurs were too big, or there were too many of them, to go on this Ark. However, there were not very many different kinds of dinosaurs. There are certainly hundreds of dinosaur names, but many of these were given to just a bit of bone or skeletons of the same dinosaur found in other countries. It is also reasonable to assume that different sizes, varieties, and sexes of the same kind of dinosaur have ended up with different names. For example, look at the many different varieties and sizes of dogs, but they are all the same kindthe dog kind! In reality, there may have been fewer than 50 kinds of dinosaurs.

God sent two of every land animal into the Ark there were no exceptions. Therefore, dinosaurs must have been on the Ark. Even though there was ample room in the huge ship for large animals, perhaps God sent young adults into the Ark that still had plenty of room for them to grow.

To Accomplish His Purposes

God used plagues to deliver the enslaved Jews from their Egyptian overlords. .

God will also pour out plagues during the Tribulation to bring God-rejecters to faith in Christ. The way coronavirus spreads quickly from person to person is a foreshadowing of the way God will pronounce judgment in Revelation.

Revelation 9:15-19By these three plagues a third of mankind was killed, by the fire and smoke and sulfur coming out of their mouths. The rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent.

How does God accomplish His purpose in our day? Through Jesus death and resurrection. Isaiah 53 tells us Christ bore our sins and diseases on the cross. We receive grace and not judgment when we believe in Him.

Will We Ever See A Live Dinosaur

The answer is probably not but, then again? There are some scientists who believe a few dinosaurs may have survived in remote jungles. We are still discovering new species of animals and plants today in areas that have been too difficult to explore until now. Even natives in some countries describe beasts that fit with what might be a dinosaur.

Creationists, of course, would not be surprised if someone found a living dinosaur. However, evolutionists would then have to explain why they made dogmatic statements that man and dinosaur never lived at the same time. I suspect they would say something to the effect that this dinosaur somehow survived because it was trapped in a remote area that has not changed for millions of years. You see, no matter what is found, or how embarrassing it is to evolutionists ideas, they will always be able to concoct an answer because evolution is a belief. It is not scienceit is not fact!

Engaging Views And Analysis From Outside Contributors On The Issues Affecting Society And Faith Today

CP VOICES do not necessarily reflect the views of The Christian Post. Opinions expressed are solely those of the author.

At the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis, a student at my alma mater, Cedarville University, faced a challenge. Gabe Woodruff, who was enrolled in Cedarvilles nursing program, was called up by his US Army Reserves medical unit and was sent to Detroit to serve COVID patients in that city.

Despite the danger and disruption of the deployment, he and his wife, Kayla, found direction in the power of Scripture. Gabe said, One of the things my wife and I would tell each other is if we trust God with our eternal security, why wouldnt we trust him with our present circumstance?

That sentence perfectly sums up what many of us learned during the worst days of the pandemic.

If youre a follower of Christ, you dont have to live at the mercy of present problems and future fears. Instead, you can evaluate global events in terms of scriptural prophecy, world history, and the biblical agenda leading to the return of Christ.

So what exactly does the Bible say about pandemics?

Throughout the Bible, we see repeated examples of God using diseases to accomplish His divine and sovereign purposes. In the Old Testament, God warned His people that disobedience would bring wasting disease and fever which shall consume the eyes and cause sorrow of heart .

Four lessons have been foremost in my mind.

Speaking In Tongues For Edification

What Does the Bible Say about Itself and Why Is That So ...

Speaking in tongues in itself can benefit a person. Paul states: He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself. 1 Corinthians 14:4. Speaking in tongues can help you express what is in your spirit and which you cannot express with words. Paul makes it clear that the best way to edify the church is to speak prophetically, with plain words that build faith and understanding for all who hear the message. I thank my God I speak with tongues more than you all yet in the church I would rather speak five words with my understanding, that I may teach others also, than ten thousand words in a tongue. 1 Corinthians 14:18-19.

However, speaking in tongues can also be of profit to all in a Christian assembly if it is interpreted to a common language of those in the gathering: How is it then, brethren? Whenever you come together, each of you has a psalm, has a teaching, has a tongue, has a revelation, has an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification. If anyone speaks in a tongue, let there be two or at the most three, each in turn, and let one interpret. 1 Corinthians 14:26-27.

When used in this way, the gift of tongues should be used to emphasize and support the spiritual message, and not because you feel strongly moved in your emotions. In this way, others besides the one speaking in tongues will be edified.

What Lessons Can We Learn From The Dinosaur

When we see the bones of dinosaurs, we can be reminded that death was not a part of the original creation. Death is actually an intruder, entering when the first man disobeyed God. The Bible tells us that because we are all descendants of Adam, we too have sinned: Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God . We need to recognize that the wickedness in the world is because of sin, because man rebelled against God.

We can also be reminded that God, who made all things, including the dinosaurs, is also a judge of His creation.

We can also be reminded that God, who made all things, including the dinosaurs, is also a judge of His creation. He judged Adams rebellion by cursing the world with death. Adam was warned about what would happen if he disobeyed Gods instruction not to eat the fruit of one particular tree. But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die .

But we are also warned that many will not be allowed into this new Earth but will suffer for eternity: But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death (Revelation 21:8

God Works Through Your Work

What did you eat for breakfast?

Did you enjoy a bowl of warm oatmeal and a cup of hot coffee? How about a batch of scrambled eggs and bacon? Or, did you pick up something through a drive-thru on your way to work?

Regardless of what you ate this morning, countless people participated in Godâs work of providing you your daily bread. From farmers who planted the seeds and truck drivers who transported your food to grocery store clerks who sold you what you ate and bankers who provide business with financial resources, numerous people, without even knowing each other, participate together in Godâs work in providing for one another.

God is at work in your life and through your life in more ways than you can imagine. Even though you may not see how what you do benefits others, know that God has chosen to act through you, your skills, and experience for the good of others.

What Happened To Dinosaurs

Evolutionists use their imagination in a big way in answering this question. Because of their belief that dinosaurs ruled the world for millions of years, and then disappeared millions of years before man allegedly evolved, they have had to come up with all sorts of guesses to explain this mysterious disappearance.

When reading evolutionist literature, you will be astonished at the range of ideas concerning their supposed extinction. The following is just a small list of theories:

Dinosaurs starved to death they died from overeating they were poisoned they became blind from cataracts and could not reproduce mammals ate their eggs. Other causes include volcanic dust, poisonous gases, comets, sunspots, meteorites, mass suicide, constipation, parasites, shrinking brain , slipped discs, changes in the composition of air, etc.

It is obvious that evolutionists dont know what happened and are grasping at straws. In a recent evolutionary book on dinosaurs, A New Look At the Dinosaurs, the author made the statement:

But, one such explanation does exist. If you remove the evolutionary framework, get rid of the millions of years, and then take the Bible seriously, you will find an explanation that fits the facts and makes perfect sense:

Reflect On Scripture That Is Important To You

WHY does the BIBLE SAY we have to FEAR GOD?

List the Bible verses God uses to give your life focus, purpose, and direction. These are the verses that tell you who you are, what is important, and what you are called to do. They are probably the verses you turn to when you are confused, lost, or losing hope. They anchor your life.

  • Note the reference or write out the verse or verses completely, whichever is most helpful for you.
  • Paraphrase or summarize what each verse says to you.
  • Explain why each verse or passage is important to you.
  • Look for common themes.
  • Reflect on how these verses generally function in your life .

God Created You With A Specific Purpose In Mind

Corbis Digital Stock

The atheistic theory of evolution argues that life evolved by chance with no ultimate purpose or plan. The Bible, however, tells us that God created the earth and man with a specificand awe-inspiringpurpose in mind.

What is that purpose? Israel’s King David, when viewing the expanse of the night sky long ago, asked, “What are human beings that you are mindful of them, mortals that you care for them?” . Unlike all other creatures, God created man in His own image and likeness . He gave man the ability to have a relationship with Him. Man had the capacity to understand and live by the same spiritual laws God Himself lives by, these being part of His character. Man could grow to become more like God through an intimate relationship with Him.

Our first human parent, Adam, made a fateful choice for the rest of the human race when he tried to find a way of life for himself apart from the intimate relationship God was offering him. We have been groping for meaning ever since.

The awe-inspiring truth is that God is creating a familythe God family. How did Jesus Christ reveal God to His disciples? As “our Father in heaven” . Jesus tells us to follow the ways of God “that you may be sons of your Father in heaven” . The apostle Paul referred to God the Father as “the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named” .

How Rapture Theology Was Popularized

Arguably, the time when the rapture really started getting its roots was in 1830. This concept was brought about by a woman named Margaret MacDonald in the United Kingdom.

John Darby took the vision that Margaret MacDonald had and put some theological study, some weight, behind it. What level he was influenced by MacDonald is debatable, but there seems to be at least some level of influence. Darby traveled from the U.K. to the U.S. and taught this new theology in many lectures. His work left such a legacy that eventually C. I. Scofield was influenced.

Maybe that name sounds familiar. Scofield published the first-ever reference Bible towards the end of the 1800s. It quickly became the best selling Bible. People loved it.

In the footnotes of this Bible Scofield explained what rapture theology was. And as the Bible sold and grow in popularity so did this belief of a rapture. What we should take note of is this theology grew because of what was in the footnotes of the Word of God, not the Word itself.

From there famous evangelists bought into this theology and started spreading it further and further. Maybe the two most famous being D.L Moody and Billy Graham, although Graham later recanted his belief in the rapture in the Bible.

All this paved the way for the book The Late, Great Planet Earth in the 1970s. Which outsold the Bible for much of the decade. And then the infamous Left Behind Series that solidified rapture theology as mainstream in the western Church.

Why Does God Allow Coronavirus And Other Catastrophes

The world is broken. We are sinful. Because Adam sinned, we are in mortal bodies. Death is inevitable. But we need not fear. Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 15:21:

For since by a man that death came , it is also by a Man that the resurrection of the dead has come. AMP

We live in a fallen world. If we know Christ, we can have hope and joy.

Some Clarification About The Rapture In The Bible

What Does the Bible Say About the Bible? Ruah Space

If you are unfamiliar with what the rapture in the Bible is let me give you a very brief definition.

The Rapture, as commonly viewed today, is the belief that Jesus will remove the church before the great tribulation. This will be suddenly and without warning. One moment Christians will be going about their business and the next, gone. They will be taken to heaven while the rest of the world is plunged into a terrible tribulation. Following the great tribulation is the Second Coming of Jesus in which He will return to earth in a triumph entry defeating His enemies.

There are some that view the rapture differently than this description. But for the sake of clarity this is how I will use it through this article.

This is a touchy subject for some, because this belief is held tightly. I know that because whenever I mention something that has to do with ends times I get a slew of emails, comments, name calling, and plenty of accusations about my intentions. Few topics bring as much heat and opposition as this one.

So, before we go any further let me clarify a few things that typically come up.

First, I firmly believe the Bible is the inspired word of God. And I strive to uphold it and help people understand it.

Second, I believe in the Second Coming of Jesus. However, this article is not about that. Its about questioning whether the pre-tribulational rapture is Biblical.

And finally, I want to show my cards early on. I do NOT believe in the rapture. Okay, deep breath

Why Do All People Sin And Die

The first humans, Adam and Eve, lost their lives because they sinned against God. Death was the only possible outcome of their rebellion against God, for with him is the source of life.Psalm 36:9 Genesis 2:17.

Adam passed on the defect of sin to all his descendants. The Bible says: Through one man sin entered into the world and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men because they had all sinned. All people die because they all sin.Romans 3:23.

Is Coronavirus A Sign Of The End Times

Jesus often described the End Times as being birth pangs. Just as labor pains grow stronger and closer together, God will allow escalation in trials of all kinds to bring men to Christ. In fact, the purpose of the Tribulation itself is to bring pressure for men to surrender to Jesus and find salvation.

Jesus describes End Time events in Matthew 24, , and Luke 21. Heres what Jesus said in Luke 21:

Master! they exclaimed. When? And will there be any warning ahead of time?

He replied, Dont let anyone mislead you. For many will come announcing themselves as the Messiah, and saying, The time has come. But dont believe them! And when you hear of wars and insurrections beginning, dont panic. True, wars must come, but the end wont follow immediately for nation shall rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be great earthquakes, and famines in many lands, and epidemics, and terrifying things happening in the heavens. ESV

The passage further describes persecution of Christians .

Christ encourages us four ways: dont be deceived or surprised, dont panic, be patient and witness . This will be your opportunity to bear witness. Jesus is coming.
