God Uses Marriage For Reproduction

26. Genesis 1:28 God blessed them and said to them, Be fruitful and multiply! Fill the earth and subdue it! Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and every creature that moves on the ground.

Christians wait until marriage. Marriage is to fulfill our sexual needs. In fact, it is better to marry than to burn with lust.

27. 1 Corinthians 7:1-5 Now for the matters you wrote about: It is good for a man not to have sexual relations with a woman. But since sexual immorality is occurring, each man should have sexual relations with his own wife, and each woman with her own husband. The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband. The wife does not have authority over her own body but yields it to her husband. In the same way, the husband does not have authority over his own body but yields it to his wife. Do not deprive each other except perhaps by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.

28. 1 Corinthians 7:9 But if they cannot control themselves, they should marry, for it is better to marry than to burn with passion.

When will God give me a spouse?

29. Proverbs 31:10 A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies.

Put into that perspectivethat your wife is a tremendous blessing from the Lord in every way. Knowing that, a man can pour his whole heart into committing to being all she needs him to be, too.

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight O Lord, my rock and my redeemer. Psalm 19:14

Be mindful of your words to your spouse. This is especially challenging when the conversation is tense. As you engage your spouse in conversation, ask yourself whether the Lord is pleased with the tone of your words and with the words you choose to use with each other. Bible Verses About Having A Strong & Healthy Marriage

Marriage Scriptures Part 1 (Bible Verses about Relationships)

Here are some of my favorites:

Song of Songs is a book of the Bible that is 100% about marriage. Written by a young King Solomon when he married a young maiden, it’s a celebration of the love and desire between a man and a woman. If you’ve never read it, I would encourage you to take a look. It’s beautiful.

1. Kiss me and kiss me again, for your love is sweeter than wine. Song of Songs 1:2

2. My lover is mine, and I am his. He browses among the lilies. Song of Songs 2:16

There are a lot of verses in the Bible about love, both about marital love and brotherly love. I think both are appropriate to talk about here because we are called to show both kinds of love to our spouses. If we want to be friends with Jesus, we have to love others the way He loves us.

3. This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you. There is no greater love than to lay down ones life for ones friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. John 15:12-14

4. So again I say, each man must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband. Ephesians 5:33

This next passage is probably straight from your wedding ceremony. I think it’s vital because it defines the relationship, and it also calls for a lifelong commitment. No matter how much you may disagree with one another, Jesus called us to be lifelong partners, acting as one body.

6. Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. 1 Peter 4:8
