Bible Verses That You Should Read In Times Of Trouble And Suffering

Why should I read the Bible? Why should You read the Bible? // Personal Development

Suffering is very real in our lives. It can be found in your community, in your country, and in every corner of the earth. No matter where you look, there is always suffering. You do not even have too go to far as you can find suffering in your own life and family.

The suffering we face in our everyday life is just a reminder that we are in this world ruled by satan and we must yearn and groan harder for the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ. Though it might be hard to explain all the suffering in this world, we can be very sure that God is still in complete control. We can go to Him and find the comfort we are looking for.

That is right, God told us to cast our cares to Him as mentioned in I Peter 5:7 . This verse is not just a promise my friend, but it is a command. It means that we can go to God and be our hiding place when we feel being weighed down too much by problems and overwhelmed by lifes struggles.

There is no one-fits-all solution for the problems we face. Our personal struggles are different from others. It will not be sufficient to address all possible trials that all of us might encounter. But we can always turn to God and put all our cares on Him. In this article, I gathered some of the encouraging Bible verses that we can use every time we have problems.

How Many Minutes A Day Should You Read The Bible

That should be no more than 12 minutes per day. However, you may wish to spend some extra minutes pondering God. So I’ll recommend 15 minutes reading every day. And always remember: when reading the Bible, don’t take everything literally, as it’s very likely that whoever wrote it was being metaphorical.

    How Should We Prepare

    During the Week

Pray. Before you read the Bible on Sunday you should spend time praying through the passage. Illumination, understanding, and joy come from God. He grants these as gifts by the Holy Spirit . Ask God to impress the truth and beauty of the passage upon your heart.

Understand. You will better serve the congregation if you understand what the passage is saying. Work to understand it. This may mean using some resources like a study Bible or send an email to a pastor.

Practice. You should plan to practice reading the passage daily. This practice should include reading aloud . You want to do your best not to stumble over words or mispronounce them. If you come across difficult words that you arent sure how to pronounce, listen to theESV audio version to learn the proper pronunciation. You may find it helpful to ask someone to give you feedback as you practice during the week.

    Sunday Morning

Appropriate dress. Remember that you are going to be standing before the congregation to read the Bible. You are obviously not to be the focus of everyones attention, so its important to not dress in a way that will draw undue attention to yourself. Dress in a modest way that reflects accepted business casual attire.

Hydrate. When nervous, our mouths often get dry. If you combine this with drinking caffeine you will likely have a very dry mouth when you come up to read. You can be proactive here by drinking water and limiting coffee and tea.

How Do You Start A Prayer

For meaningful prayer, it is best to seek a quiet place where you will not be disturbed.

  • Step 1: Address Heavenly Father. We open the prayer by addressing God because he is the one we are praying to. …
  • Step 2: Thank Heavenly Father. …
  • Step 3: Ask Heavenly Father. …
  • Step 4: Close in the Name of Jesus Christ.

For I Know The Plans I Have For You

This is what the Lord says: “When seventy years are completed for Babylon, I will come to you and fulfill my good promise to bring you back to this place. For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile.”

When it comes to God’s will, people often quote a portion of this promise: “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'”

It’s critical to see this within the context of the prophet’s statement. This promise was made to the entire nation of Israel who was in captivity, and it wouldn’t be fulfilled until seventy years after Jeremiah had spoken. That means that an entire generation of Israelites would die in Babylon before this promise came to pass.

Place Water Bowls Around The House

Why You Should Read THE BIBLE

Water is a necessity for dogs, just as it is for people. They depend on us to take care of them, so we should be able to provide this necessity and have it accessible whenever they get thirsty. Place several water bowls around the house for old Fritz, especially if you have a large house with several levels. After all, it can be a lot of work for an aging dog to climb up those stairs just for a drink of water.

    Why Are We Reading

We are reading the Bible because God wants his people to prioritize the reading of Scripture when his people gather together . When the Bible is read, God is speaking. This is actually the only perfect portion of our worship service! We are reading Gods perfect Word. And in so doing, we are loving God and loving others. The unfolding of Gods Word brings light . There is a simple reason why we are reading: to prepare for the preaching of the Word. But, there is a deeper, underlying reason: because God is glorified by us reading it in our assembly.

    Is Lent In The Bible

Many people wonder if Lent is a practice that Scripture teaches. While the Bible doesn’t specifically mention Lent, it does give us examples of 40 days of fasting periods. The Lenten season is inspired by the Bible story of Jesus in the wilderness, where He fasted and prayed for 40 days, rebuking the temptations from Satan with perfect faith and obedience to God the Father. Read each of the Gospel’s accounts of Jesus’ temptation in the wilderness.

    – At once the Spirit sent him out into the wilderness, and he was in the wilderness forty days, being tempted by Satan. He was with the wild animals, and angels attended him.

Now we as believer dont fast to loose weight or to detoxify our body but we do it to separate ourselves for God. Religious fasting does not go without prayer and that is what distinguishes our fasting from the other types of fasting. We pray and fast.

Biblical fasting is simply refraining or abstaining from food for a set period of time, not because the food is not available but for the purpose of seeking Gods face with prayer for spiritual growth, breakthrough, or for a revelation etc.
