Yes, it must be the two wings that fly us into the kingdom and those were the very first words Jesus said when He began His earthly ministry The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand repent and believe in the gospel . Improving Quality Of Life

When we read in our Bible eternal life, we should think quality of spirit life, which is produced by our fellowship with God. When a rich young ruler asked Jesus What can I do to obtain this enduring spiritual life? Jesus answered, Believe, keep the Commandments, love God and love your neighbor.

The Light and Love of God is a force that enlightens and improves our thoughts. It transforms hearts, in part today and more fully after this life. Whoever drinksshall become in him a well of water springing up to spiritual life. The qualities of spiritual life are identified as Fruits of the Spirit:

Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.
The wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy.

The enduring qualities of spiritual life, heavenly perceptions, godly attitudes and actions illustrate our levels of maturity!

The Light and Love of God is a force that enlightens and improves our thoughts.

Believers Can Face Death Without Fear

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

1 Corinthians 15:54-57Then, when our dying bodies have been transformed into bodies that will never die, this Scripture will be fulfilled:Death is swallowed up in victory.O death, where is your victory?O death, where is your sting? For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power. But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Top 10 Bible Verses

Eternal Life. Ask any believer, and they will tell you that is an important phrase. One of the most important, in fact.

Its in all the popular verses, like John 3:16. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Its on every Christian track or hand out- a guaranteed assurance that other faiths dont have! Eternal Life!

Its often talked about as the prize of our salvation. The thing we get from God, the item we can look forward to.

If you grew up in the church, it was a huge part of the Jesus conversation as a kid! Because Jeusus died- we get to live forever in heaven! Eternal Life!

If this phrase is SO important, the bedrock of our faith, and this huge thing we are living for as Christians, I would hope we would know the definition, right?

Finding Eternal Life in the Bible

Ive been reading through the book of John for the last few months. Thanks to my friend Carmen, she has encouraged me to read through the book slowly, not skipping through stories I think I already know or flying by words that Ive heard one million times. In fact, she even encouraged me to use a concordance and look up words I was unsure of in their original Greek! .

I opened my concordance and was ready for it to say Heaven or something like Why are you looking this up? Its life eternal, duh. Instead, I was shocked.

What does it mean?

– Fullness of Life

Relationship is the goal

Believers Enter The Lord’s Presence At Death

In essence, the moment we die, our spirit and soul go to be with the Lord.

2 Corinthians 5:8Yes, we are fully confident, and we would rather be away from these earthly bodies, for then we will be at home with the Lord.

Philippians 1:22-23But if I live, I can do more fruitful work for Christ. So I really dont know which is better. Im torn between two desires: I long to go and be with Christ, which would be far better for me.

You Can Know You Have Eternal Life

The Apostle John, in his first Epistle, explains that he is writing to “you who believe in the Name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.” If that sounds redundant to you, that’s understandable. We have been taught that if you believe on the name of Jesus, then you do have eternal life. What John is saying is that it is possible to have eternal life, but not have assurance of salvation. It is also possible to believe in the wrong Christ.

Satan has always attempted to sow seeds of doubt about God. He misquoted God when deceiving Adam and Eve. He uses lies and half-truths to plant doubts in our minds. At the time John was writing there were false teachers trying to convince Christians that what they had believed was wrong, and they were not really saved. So, John writes to settle exactly who Jesus is, and what it means to know him as Savior.

John begins by reviewing the true nature and identity of Jesus Christ. John relates the apostles’ testimony of Christ, saying that they heard, saw, studied, and touched the man Jesus. He was a real human being. John then refers to Jesus by the same title that he used in his Gospel, the Word of Life. Jesus is life, and he is eternal. Jesus possesses a real human body, and is also the Word, the one who, in the beginning, created all things.

What Does Eternal Life Mean

Eternal life is intimately connected to life with God. Jesus said, I have come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly . This is not something we attain by obedience, but instead is a gift of God .

When you receive new birth through faith , you have this new life. He that hath the Son hath life and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life . The Bible speaks of eternal life as a present reality. He that believeth on me hath everlasting life .

The new life believers enjoy through a restored relationship with God is just a foretaste of what awaits us . For this reason, Christians often equate eternal life with heaven, when we shall live eternally with God. Any life outside of Gods presence could only be described biblically as hell.

For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

What Does The Bible Say About Death Eternal Life And Heaven

What does the bible say about Eternal Life | In Depth Bible Study

Most Christians have spent some time wondering what happens to us after we die. Recently, we looked at the account of Lazarus, who was raised from the dead by Jesus. He spent four days in the afterlife, yet the Bible tells us nothing about what he saw. Of course, Lazarus’ family and friends must have learned something about his journey to heaven and back. And many of us today are familiar with the testimonies of people who have had near-death experiences. But each of these accounts are unique, and can only give us a glimpse into heaven.

In fact, the Bible reveals very few concrete details about heaven, the afterlife and what happens when we die. God must have a good reason for keeping us wondering about the mysteries of heaven. Perhaps our finite minds could never comprehend the realities of eternity. For now, we can only imagine.

Yet the Bible does reveal several truths about the afterlife. This study will take a comprehensive look at what the Bible says about death, eternal life and heaven.

Why Is It Significant To Remember That Our Eternal Lives Have Actually Already Begun

There are several reasons why I think this is a really important fact that you see in Scripture. It was clear to the early believers that this was the case. They had seen the risen Christ. They had witnessed what it was for Jesus on the other side of death to be able to say, I am the resurrection and the life and he who lives and believes in me shall never die . That was obvious to them.

So they had incredible courage about their faith, didnt they? They were willing to share Jesus at any cost. Wherever the Lord asked, whatever the Lord called them to do with anyone: they were willing to go to prison, they were willing to testify before the Sanhedrin, they were willing to be martyred for their faith because they knew they already had what the Romans couldnt take from them. The Romans could take their freedom but not their eternal freedom. The Romans could take their life but not their eternal life. They knew that. They already had that fact. And so that gave them an incredible intensity, courage, and passion for serving Jesus.

Eternal Life Is In Jesus Christ Alone

This is what verse 11 tells us. Eternal life is not in religion, church-going or ordinances, nor is it in some great religious leader, some guru or some angel from Heaven. It is in one Person and only in that Person, and that is Christ – look up and compare John 1:4 5:26 10:10 14:6 Colossians 3:4 1 John 4:9 5:20! The Lord Jesus alone is the repository of eternal life so there is only one place where eternal life can be found – in Him! It therefore follows that:

Where Does The Bible Say ‘the Gift Of God Is Eternal Life’

In the Book of Romans, Paul imparts deep theological truths and asks difficult questions to the believers in Rome. This letter also contains one of the most well-known verses in Scripture, especially for anyone familiar with the Romans Road of verses used to succinctly explain the gospel. Here it is:

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord .

This common verse also contains one of the most prevalent juxtapositions in the New Testament, which is death versus life. It is easy for us to emphasize one part of this passage over the other because it is somewhat of a bad news and good news type of verse.

But if we are going to share the full truth of this passage, we have to work to understand what both halves mean or share the meaning accurately. For further reading, check out my previous article that explains how the wages of sin is death.

Now lets deal with the second section by answering this question: What does it mean that the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord? I will try to answer this by unpacking the three short pieces that make up the phrase.

Not To Have Eternal Life Is To Remain Spiritually Dead And To Face The Prospect Of Eternal Death

Pin by Marsha Kelly on Kelly Christian

This is solemn, but see what the second part of verse 12 tells us. All who are without Christ, who do not possess Christ, are here and now spiritually dead and do not have eternal life. This is made clear from John 5:40 Ephesians 2:1 Romans 6:23 and death here means separation from God. To die like this leads to what the Bible calls the Second Death, which is eternal separation from God – look up Revelation 2:11 20:14 21:8.

The choice has to be made: Eternal Life or Eternal death – which? Turn to John 3:14-15, and compare Numbers 21:5-9 and if you have not yet done so, look and live!

Explanation And Commentary Of John 1: 3

Here, when Jesus has the opportunity to define what is eternal life, he does not say that eternal life is going to heaven, although that would be a part of it. He says that eternal life is to know God and Christ. The moment we believe, we know God, and the moment we know God we become immortal. Knowing God aligns us with our true self, and gives us our true life, which is eternal. This is also known as living in the kingdom of God as one of its citizens. This is being of the light in the Church being one who is saved.

So much changes when we truly know God. When we know God, we know the truth that sets us free . When we know God, we know the reality of sin and its inability to satisfy. When we know God, we know ourselves properly, our own tendency to worship idols, to run from God, to pursue our comfort to the detriment of true life. When we know God, we have love . When we know God, we have true wisdom to live in the world, the abundant and eternal life of Christ, without being of the world. Anyone who knows God knows his Son also. Those who claimed to know the Father but failed to see Jesus did not truly know the Father.

The eternal life that comes from knowing God is the restored life that God originally intended for Adam before the fall. That we can begin to live this eternal life now upon salvation is a secret. Though the truth is plain in Scripture, much of the Church is kept in the darkness by satan.

What Is Eternal Life

To put it simply, eternal life means living forever. To put it in details, it means that we gain the truth as life, practice according to Gods words in everything, thoroughly wrest ourselves from the fetters of sins and Satans influence, do not sin, resist or rebel against God anymore, can obey, worship and love God, are completely compatible with God and become ones who follow Gods will. Just as the verse says, Blessed are they that do His commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city . If one gains eternal life, they will never die and will inherit Gods promise and blessings to enter into Gods kingdom.

What Does The Bible Mean By Eternal Life

The Meaning of Eternal Life – John 17, July 14

Eternal life traditionally refers to continued life after death, as outlined in Christian eschatology. In the Synoptic Gospels and the Pauline Letters, eternal life is generally regarded as a future experience, but the Gospel of John differs from them in its emphasis on eternal life as a present possession.

What Does The Bible Mean By A First And Second Death

We need to understand that while there are two options presented for everyone in this verse , God desires that we choose life. Someone once said that God is not against us because of our sin, he is with us against our sin. That is explained clearly in verses like:

The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance .

This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth

Even more than that, God demonstrated that he wants us to receive life over death by sending his Son to the Earth as a substitution for us and taking the punishment of our death on himself. The Apostle Paul said:

But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses , made us alive together with Christ by grace you have been saved .
