What Is The Seller Called Under A Land Contract
A land contract is typically between two parties: the buyer, sometimes referred to as the vendee and the seller, aka the vendor.
What is the seller of a property called?
The vendor is the seller, the person disposing of the property. The purchaser is the buyer, who acquires title to the property or an interest in it.
Who holds the legal title in a land contract transaction? Under a land contract, the seller retains the legal title to the property, while permitting the buyer to take possession of it for most purposes other than legal ownership.

Joshua : 4 The Promised Land
Biblical Israel is generally thought of as that region south and southwest of the Lebanon mountains, north and east of Egypt, east of the Mediterranean coastal plain, and west of the Arabian desert. In dimension, Israel was roughly 150 miles from Dan to Beersheba, and at its greatest width it was about 75 miles across. The Lord promised Joshua that the original extent of the land promised to Abraham was to be given to Israel . Although the Israelites who went into the promised land with Joshua were generally faithful and obedient, as a nation Israel soon returned to their old ways and lost the blessings promised to them of winning the whole land. Not until the time of David and Solomon did Israel control the land given in the original covenant and then only for a short while, for they soon lost the outermost parts of it again.
The Promised Land Came With Conditions
God’s gift of the promised land came with conditions. First, God required that Israel, the name of the new nation, had to trust and obey him. Second, God demanded faithful worship of him . Idolatry was such a serious offense to God that he threatened to throw the people out of the land if they worshiped other gods:
Do not follow other gods, the gods of the peoples around you for the Lord your God, who is among you, is a jealous God and his anger will burn against you, and he will destroy you from the face of the land.
During a famine, Jacob, also named Israel, went to Egypt with his family, where there was food. Over the years, the Egyptians turned the Jews into slave labor. After God rescued them from that slavery, he brought them back to the promised land, under the leadership of Moses. Because the people failed to trust God, however, he made them wander 40 years in the desert until that generation died.
Moses’ successor Joshua finally led the people into the promised land and served as the military leader in the takeover. The country was divided among the tribes by lot. Following Joshua’s death, Israel was ruled by a series of judges. The people repeatedly turned to false gods and suffered for it. Then in 586 B.C., God allowed the Babylonians to destroy the Jerusalem temple and take most of the Jews into captivity to Babylon.

To hough a horse is to cut the leg tendons above and behind the tarsal joint or ankle, thus rendering the horse useless. The Israelites were foot soldiers rather than charioteers. The fear seems to have been that should the horses and chariots be used as vehicles of war, Israel would turn from faith in God and trust in the arm of flesh .
Joshua : 28 Why Were The Israelites Circumcised Now
Israel had wandered forty years in the wilderness because they were not faithful in their covenant with God. It is not surprising, then, that during that period they had failed to continue the practice of circumcision, which was the symbol of their covenant. Therefore, after Joshua had led his people through the waters of the Jordanâa type of baptism âonto the sacred ground that had been denied their fathers, the Lord required them to reinstitute the physical token of the covenant.

Is Jerusalem Still Significant For Believers Today
The land of Israel, and the city of Jerusalem, became more special, as it was the center of much of Jesus ministry. The temple at Jerusalem was a place of worship, of important moments, of some of His ordeal the night He was arrested, and it was just outside the city walls. It is prophesied that one day, Jesus will return to earth to reign. It is a day Christians anticipated.
The capital of the millennial kingdom will be Jerusalem, Thus says the Lord: I have returned to Zion and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem, and Jerusalem shall be called the faithful city, and the mountain of the Lord of hosts, the holy mountain . Even when eternity begins, and the new heaven and the new earth descend, the capital city will be called the new Jerusalem.
The promised land is, by itself, an unimportant piece of land. In many respects, no one piece of land is worth the bloodshed and violence that region of the world has faced. Its significance lies in the promise attached to it, and the one who made that promise. God made a covenant to Abraham to give him land from which his family would live, work, and eventually rule. He blessed it for them, allowing them to live there. For centuries it was the home of Gods people, and where Jesus came to redeem the world from its sin, and provide a path to salvation for all. The promise was not just to Abraham, or to David, but to all the world – have faith in Gods promises, and you shall be saved, and spend eternity with Him.

It may appear that the action taken against Achan for taking the booty of Jericho was too severe, but the death of the mortal body may often be a merciful act both to other people and to the offender . Some offenses of men are of such consequence that the payment of the life of the offender is required for the expiation of the sin. Achanâs disobedience cost the lives of thirty-six men . But even more important, Israelâs spiritual death would be more serious than the physical death of individuals. For Israel to fail to obey the Lord in all things would be tantamount to depriving her of the land of Canaan . It is apparent from his voluntary confession that Achan understood this truth .

Joshua : 1314 Who Was The Captain Of The Lords Host That Joshua Saw
Although there is a noticeable lack of detail in this account, what is recorded suggests a miraculous vision shown to Joshua. Most commentators assume either a mortal servant of God or an angel came to strengthen Joshua and Israel as they prepared for their first battle.
Two things, however, suggest that Joshua may actually have seen Jehovah, the premortal Jesus Christ. First, when Joshua fell down to worship him, no attempt was made to stop him. Yet the mortal servants of God are quick to prevent others from worshiping them, even when they have demonstrated great power . The same thing is true of angels, for twice, when he was awed at the presence of angels and fell at their feet to worship them, John the Revelator was told the same thing, âSee thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophetsâ . The angel who appeared to Samsonâs parents clearly taught them that any offerings were to be to the Lord . But no attempt was made to prevent Joshua from falling down to worship this being.
Second, the personage commanded Joshua to remove his shoes because he was standing on holy groundâthe same instructions Jehovah gave to Moses on Mount Sinai . But, since this account in Deuteronomy is very scant on details, it can only be surmised that the being may have been the Lord.

The land and people of Israel are blessed.
Israel is the Promised Land of the Bible being fulfilled today.
If you identify as Christian, it is likely that you have heard these claims at some point or another. It is not uncommon for churches, pastors, social groups, and political consortiums to pledge their allegiance to Israel and cite their support as an inherently biblical practice. And for many Christians in the Western world, viewing Israel as the Promised Land is common, shared language. Many of us learn matter-of-factly in our churches and Bible lessons that God promised the land of Canaan to the people of Israel and that such a promise extends into our world today.
But where do these beliefs come from? And do the biblical texts they are based on say what we think they do? In what follows, I invite you to explore these questions with me.
In light of the recent uprisings and surging geo-political tensions in Israel-Palestine, many have begun to question what they really know about the land of the Bible and how it ought to be divided. As someone who has spent significant time in Israel-Palestine and invested my career in Christian and Jewish dialogue on the Bible and its lands, I wrestle with these questions daily.

Joshua : 1 The Book Of Joshua And The Man Joshua
âThe Book of Joshua is one of the most important writings in the old covenant, and should never be separated from the Pentateuch, of which it is at once both the continuation and completion. Between this Book and the five Books of Moses, there is the same analogy as between the four Gospels and the Acts of the Apostles. The Pentateuch contains a history of the Acts of the great Jewish legislator, and the Laws on which the Jewish Church should be established. The Book of Joshua gives an account of the establishment of that Church in the Land of Canaan, according to the oft-repeated promises and declarations of God. The Gospels give an account of the transactions of Jesus Christ, the great Christian legislator, and of those Laws on which his Church should be established, and by which it should be governed. What Are The Disadvantages Of A Contract For Deed For Buyer
There are several of disadvantages to a buyer who enters into a contract for deed. It could be difficult for a buyer to explain to a third party, such a contractor for repairs, that he or she is indeed the owner of the property even though legal title has not been transferred by deed to the buyer.

Jesus Is The Fulfillment Of God’s Promise
When Jesus Christ arrived on the scene in Israel, he ushered in a new covenant available to all people, both Jews and Gentiles alike. At the conclusion of Hebrews 11, the famous “Hall of Faith” passage, the author notes that the Old Testament figures “were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised.” They may have received the land, but they still looked to the future for the Messiahthat Messiah is Jesus Christ.
Jesus is the fulfillment of all God’s promises, including the promised land:
For all of Gods promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding Yes! And through Christ, our Amen ascends to God for his glory.
Anyone who believes in Christ as Savior immediately becomes a citizen of the kingdom of God. Still, Jesus told Pontius Pilate,
My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jews. But now my kingdom is from another place.
Today, believers abide in Christ and he abides in us in an inner, earthly “promised land.” At death, Christians pass into heaven, the eternal promised land.
What Is The Promised Land For Christians
In the Bible we read God calling His people out of where they are into a land that He will give them. This “promised land,” as it is called, was something so wonderful that they were willing to let go of their current lives to pursue it.
But what is this promised land exactly? As Christians, do we have a promised land? Yes we do. Let’s talk about it.
Vagabonds
In Genesis we read that God created the Garden of Eden. It was such a beautiful paradise, with no sin and death in it. There was no bloodshed there. Human and animal diet was made up of lettuce, broccoli, and all sorts of vegetables and fruits . Money wasn’t a problem. Boredom didn’t exist either.
When Adam and Eve sinned, however, they were booted out of paradise. The whole fallen human race no longer had entry to Eden, and they became vagabonds on the earth they were to dominate. Because of sin, we lost our home â our place beside God.
As humans enslaved and ravaged by sin, we became orphans separated from our Father. We became nomads without a home. No matter how rich we may become and no matter how many houses, mansions, and RVs we can buy, we’ll never find the home that we were designed to live in.
Friends, we really don’t belong here. We were meant to be with God.

Not Israel Vs Canaan But God Vs Human Evil
Theres an extremely important story that opens up all the battles between Israel and the Canaanites. The angel of the Lord confronts Joshua near the Jordan River . Joshua asks if the angel is on the Israelites side or their enemys. With these words, Joshua reveals his understanding of the battles ahead: God is pro-Israel and anti-Canaanite. The angel quickly corrects him by saying No. I am the captain of the LORDs army. The point is clear. God is going to bring his judgment on human evil. The real question is whether Israel is on Gods side.
This theme is highlighted in many of the battle stories. Most often, God is the one leading the charge and the Israelites are responsible for clean-up. Jericho is a great example of this, as the Israelites play only a minor role in bringing down the walls . The Israelites are outnumbered, outgunned, and fighting against fortified cities and professional militaries. They do not have a standing military and are not professional soldiers. They are a disadvantaged militia fighting against standing armies and cavalry. Given their huge disadvantage, the likelihood of each battle turning in favor of the Israelites would be nearly impossible a divine hand is clearly at work.

What Were the Boundaries of the Promised Land?
Many Bible-believing Christians assume that the modern region known as Israel and Palestine reflects the actual boundaries of the biblical Promised Land. But is that true? What were the boundaries of the Promised Land? The issue is controversial because of the different descriptions that we find in the Bible of these boundaries. The Bible does not givejust one description of the boundaries. It is not that simple.
But let me try to simplify things, by dividing these different boundary descriptions into roughly two maps: the land of Canaan, and a wider territory that includes most of the Ancient Near East . In addition, in the different periods, the land had different shapes. The allotted land in the days of Joshua, for example, is different from the land during the reign of David and then Solomon. In both cases, the boundaries went beyond modern day Israel and Palestine.
