Romans 1: 17 Apostle Paul Quote On The Kingdom Of God

Who Will inherit the Kingdom of God verses included

Romans 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. Gods kingdom isnt a matter of what you put in your stomach, for goodness sake. Its what God does with your life as he sets it right, puts it together, and completes it with joy. For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

Welcome To The Church

Imagine inviting someone along to worship with you on a Sunday morning, imagine if they asked, what are the people like? And you reply, oh, youll find recovering sex addicts, recovering idolaters, recovering adulterers, men who used to have sex with men, recovering thieves, recovering greedy people, recovering drunkards, recovering slanderers and swindlers, recovering impure people and people who were into witchcraft, those who used to cause division, those who were jealous, those who used to lose their temper, those who were selfish, those who once enjoyed orgies, youll find recovering obscene people and people who used to tell filthy jokes. And a whole bunch of other people who were involved in similar things.

The chances are if we rolled out that list to a stranger after inviting them to worship, they wouldnt come anywhere near the church. But the truth is, this is a perfect description of the church, these are the very people which make up the saved.

Notice what Paul writes when hes writing to the Corinthians church.

Can A Homosexual Enter Into The Kingdom Of Heaven

Because salvation is by faith alone in Christ alone and we are not saved by our works good or bad, yes, a homosexual person can go to heaven. Having said this, however, there is always the question of whether such a person has faced their sin and truly put their trust in Christ. If they have, then to continue with a homosexual lifestyle is living in rebellion and a believer will eventually experience misery and divine discipline.

The Scripture, which is God-breathed and accurate, gives us Gods declaration concerning this issue. It clearly states that it is sinful and contrary to mans basic nature and the way God created us. Scripture gives us Gods revelation on this, not to keep us from having fun or from enjoying life, but to protect us from ourselves and the depravity to which we can all go when we seek to live our lives apart from a relationship with Him in the light of the Bible as His index and authority for both belief and practice .

The Scripture also gives us some strong warnings about having sin as the practice, characterization, habit of our lives.

If that behavior of sin is the pattern of our lives we have no foundational reason to believe we have truly trusted in Jesus for the forgiveness of our sins. In that case the warning of 2 Corinthians 13:5 to test ourselves to see if we are indeed in the faith is especially important to heed.

Thanks be to God for providing a way for rescue from sin and providing for us to be able to walk in newness of life!

The Rich And The Kingdom Of God

16 Just then a man came up to Jesus and asked, Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?

17 Why do you ask me about what is good? Jesus replied. There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, keep the commandments.

18 Which ones? he inquired.

Jesus replied, You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony,19 honor your father and mother, and love your neighbor as yourself.

20 All these I have kept, the young man said. What do I still lack?

21 Jesus answered, If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.

22 When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth.

23 Then Jesus said to his disciples, Truly I tell you, it is hard for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven.24 Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.

Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of ...

The Bible provides lists of the types of people who will not inherit the kingdom of God, but it also tells us who will inherit the kingdom of God. Tim Chaffey, AiGU.S., explains.

Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.

Todays big question: who will inherit the kingdom of God?

These verses contain one of the many lists in Scripture of the works of the flesh. Paul, inspired by the Holy Spirit, specifically told his readers that fornicators, idolaters, adulterers, homosexuals, sodomites, thieves, covetous, drunkards, revilers, and extortioners will not inherit the kingdom of God. Many people look at this list and think, Well, I dont fall into any of those categories, so Im okay.

However, consider that the Lord said something very similar: But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone .

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation old things have passed away behold, all things have become new.

But Isnt It Possible That Paul Used Malakoi And Arsenokoitai Together To Condemn Both The Active And Passive Partners In Male Same

  • There were many word pairs in common use in ancient literature to describe both the active and passive partners in male same-sex relationswords like erastes and eromenos, for example. Malakoi and arsenokoitai, however, were not used as a pair by other ancient writers.
  • Moreover, even if Paul had intended to condemn both partners in male same-sex relations, its critical to remember the major gap between same-sex behavior as it was practiced in ancient societieswhere it was based on status, power, and lustand committed same-sex unions today.
  • Some Bible translations render malakoi and arsenokoitai as homosexuals, but that term wasnt even coined until 1869 in German and 1892 in English. Not only that, the concept that the term describes didnt exist in the ancient world either.

Those Who Reject God As King Will Be Judged

HOW TO INHERIT A KINGDOM | Bible Study | 2 Samuel 2:8-4:12

Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.

Gods Kingdom is like a festive banquet we read about yesterday, but in order to avoid blind spots today, I want to stress that declining Gods invitation does not just make you miss out on a party. Rejecting God has very serious consequences.

Jesus explains this with another parable. This time, its about a nobleman who receives a kingdom. But some citizens dont want him to reign over them and send a delegation to plead their cause to no avail. When the nobleman is crowned king, he orders his servants to bring his enemies, who did not want him to reign over them and kill them .

This sounds pretty brutal, doesnt it? But if human kings react like this, what will God do to people who reject Him while He is their Creator and has every right to be their King?! He will send them into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. Theyll have to spend eternity with the king they chose above God, which will be horrible.

Please make sure you accept Gods invitation to become a citizen of His Kingdom!

John 1: 36 Jesus Says His Kingdom Is Not Of This World

John 18:36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have been fighting, that I might not be delivered over to the Jews. But my kingdom is not from the world. Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence. My kingdom, said Jesus, doesnt consist of what you see around you. If it did, my followers would fight so that I wouldnt be handed over to the Jews. But Im not that kind of king, not the worlds kind of king. Jesus said, My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jewish leaders. But now my kingdom is from another place. Jesus answered, My Kingdom is not an earthly kingdom. If it were, my followers would fight to keep me from being handed over to the Jewish leaders. But my Kingdom is not of this world.

What Types Of People Wont Inherit The Kingdom Of God

The Bible declares that people who continue to engage in the sins mentioned in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 and Galatians 5:19-21 will notinherit the kingdom of God. But, are these two scripture passages applicable to everyone, including people who have sincerely trusted in Jesus Christ for eternal salvation ? First, lets consider what these two scripture passages state.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10: Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.

Galatians 5:19-21: Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Now, we will consider what Bible commentaries have to say about these two focal scriptures.

John Calvins Commentaries on the Bible explains with regard to 1 Corinthians 6:9-10,

And, in reference to Galatians 5:19-21, Calvin says,

John Gills Exposition on the Whole Bible states in regard to 1 Corinthians 6:9-10,

And, Gill explains Galatians 5:19-21 as follows:

Summary and Conclusions

Matthew : 33 Jesus Says Seek First The Kingdom Of God

Pin on Biblical truth

Matthew 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you. Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Dont worry about missing out. Youll find all your everyday human concerns will be met. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

Daniel : 44 Old Testament Reference On The Kingdom Of God

Daniel 2:44 And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that shall never be destroyed, nor shall the kingdom be left to another people. It shall break in pieces all these kingdoms and bring them to an end, and it shall stand forever, And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever. But throughout the history of these kingdoms, the God of heaven will be building a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will this kingdom ever fall under the domination of another. In the end it will crush the other kingdoms and finish them off and come through it all standing strong and eternal. In the time of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but it will itself endure forever. During the reigns of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed or conquered. It will crush all these kingdoms into nothingness, and it will stand forever.
