Paul Warns About Foolish Myths And Bottomless Genealogies
In Titus 3:9 1 Timothy 4:6 4:7 6:4, and 2 Timothy 2:23, Paul gives warnings about the persistence of untrue myths and endless genealogies. The Book of Enoch seems to perfectly fit into the mold that the words of Paul create as such. Enochian traditions contain Angel genealogy in a vast amount along with speculations rooting from Genesis 6, 1-4.

The book of Enoch is a highly debated book. Is it holy scripture or not? It is not included in the canon of the Catholic or Protestant Bibles. It was also not included in the apocrypha and it must be pointed out that this book has never been included as part of the Jewish Tanakh. The Ethiopian Jews, otherwise known as beta Israel, however do include this book amongst their canon. The Ethiopic Jews have a canon that consists of 81 book which is 15 more than the protestant Bible and eight more than even the Catholic Bible has.
Many other people, who are not of Beta Israel, however, do believe that this book is a book inspired by God and should be included as part of the biblical texts.
It is believed that Jude quotes from this book in his own writing that is included as holy scripture in the Bible.
It is often asserted that if Jude quoted from the book of Enoch then the book should also be considered holy scripture. To this it must pointed out that even if Jude did in fact quote the book of Enoch this wouldnt automatically make this holy scripture as Paul often quoted non inspired non biblical writings. Quoting a writing does not make that quoted writing scripture if it isnt actually scripture, all it means is that it was used as a reference point.

The Mercer Dictionary of the Bible makes a distinction between the Grigori and the fallen angels by stating that in fifth heaven, Enoch sees the giants whose brothers were the fallen angels. The longer recension of 2 Enoch 18:3 identifies the prisoners of second heaven as the angels of Satanail.

Names Of The Fallen Angels
Some of the fallen angels that are given in 1 Enoch have other names, such as Rameel , who becomes Azazel, and is also called Gadriel in Chapter 68. Another example is that Araqiel becomes Aretstikapha in Chapter 68.
Azaz, as in Azazel, means strength, so the name Azazel can refer to ‘strength of God’. But the sense in which it is used most probably means ‘impudent’ , which results in ‘arrogant to God’. This is also a key point in modern thought that Azazel is Satan.Also important in this identification is the fact that the original name Rameel, is very similar in meaning to the word Lucifer which is a common Latin name of Satan in Christianity.
Nathaniel Schmidt states “the names of the angels apparently refer to their condition and functions before the fall,” and lists the likely meanings of the angels’ names in the Book of Enoch, noting that “the great majority of them are Aramaic.”
The name suffix -el means ‘God’ , and is used in the names of high-ranking angels. The archangels’ names all include -el, such as Uriel and Michael .
Another name is given as Gadreel, who is said to have tempted Eve Schmidt lists the name as meaning ‘the helper of God.’

Are There Any Bibles That Have The Book Of Enoch
Outside of the Ethiopian Orthodox church, there are no Bibles nor denominations that believes 1 Enoch is divinely inspired by God. However, Jews include it in the Apocrypha as external texts. The Book of Enoch is also called: The Book of Enoch , The Book of the Secrets of Enoch and The Hebrew Book of Enoch .
Most believe these books were not divinely inspirited Scripture even though it does contain some facts. Because of the references in other books like Jude and Hebrews, it was various early churches considered 1 Enoch considered the book as a part of Scripture and was canonized in the third century. Later, when the Bible was canonized the book of Enoch was removed.
Why Was The Book Of Enoch Removed
Because the Book of Enoch could not be factually attributed to Enoch, however this does not mean the Book of Enoch is inspired by God and should be in the Bible. It is interesting to note that no scholars truly believe the Book of Enoch was actually written about Enoch himself.
Not only is the Book of Enoch considered to be a pseudepigraphal writing, it is also considered an Apocryphal writing. Apocryphal writings means that it should be true and correct it is in fact false and often times historically inaccurate. When it comes to reading these texts, they should be treated as fallible historical texts, whereas the Bible should be treated as the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God.

The Question Of Jude 14 And Titus : 12 And The Book Of Enoch
There is some debate on whether Jude was quoting in Jude 14 the apocryphal book of Enoch or something else. Whether thats true or not, the quote from Enoch does not affect the inspiration of Scripture. It also doesnt mean that the Early Church removed Enoch because of internal inconsistencies.
As we will soon discover later in this article, the book of Enoch was not considered Scripture by the Early Church. While there was some discussion surrounding it being included in the Canon by a few people, the Early Church did not put it in the Bible. Jude only quotes something true in Enoch, but this doesnt mean the Lord inspired Enoch. Furthermore, Paul quotes Epimenides in Titus 1:12, but this doesnt mean Epimenides was inspired either.
The period between the Old and New Testaments was marked by international upheaval. One example of this was the Maccabean revolt around 164 BC, which ended the tyrannical reign of Antiochus IV, who defiled the Jerusalem temple. Israel then enjoyed independence from foreign rule, which continued until 63 BC when the Roman general Pompey made Palestine part of the Roman Empire.

The reason why the book of Enoch was bannedand its chilling reason shows how far the established religions have gone to hide spiritual truths and wittingly or unwittingly follow doctrines of demons.
I want to make my case through historic facts for the validity of the book, in hopes of opening the eyes of people who like to foment emotional arguments to outright reject the book of Enoch.
This was told to us in 1 Timothy 4:1 The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons.
The book of Enoch contains information on the origin of evil or familiar spirits. It contains many admonitions regarding righteousness versus unrighteousness. Including many prophecies and parables. And I have found at least 75 direct references in the New Testament.
Note the warnings in Timothy are for things taking place in the end times. Now look at the introduction to the book of Enoch and who and when this book is for.
1 Enoch 1:1-2 The word of the blessing of Enoch, how he blessed the elect and the righteous, who were to exist in the time of tribulation rejecting all the wicked and ungodly. Enoch, a righteous man, who was with God, answered and spoke, while his eyes were open, and while he saw a holy vision in the heavens.
So, we can see the timelines for both messages match up.

Enoch Is Never Publicly Affirmed At Any Church Council
The Apocrypha is never publicly affirmed at a council of the entire church. You have little regional councils that affirm it at moments, but you never have Christendom signing off on this. The council of Trent, post-reformation is the first time this happens..
In April 1546 is the month they were officially added to a Catholic Canon at the council of Trent because they helped the Catholic Church teach the doctrines that the Protestants were fighting against.
Hippo and Carthage were not universal Catholic councils and they had a different list.. these councils clash with Trent. Notably Pope Gregory the Great in the 6th century rejected the Apocrypha and said it was not Canonical. Jerome did translate Apocryphal books but he was clear in saying they were not scripture

What To Do With Enoch And Other Books Like It
Christians should treat the book of Enoch and other books like it the same way we do with other Apocryphal writings. Some of what the Apocrypha says is correct and right, but much of what it says is wrong and historically inaccurate. If you decide to read these books, you may read them as an interesting novel containing interesting stories from history. You may not read them as the inspired, inerrant, infallible, clear, and authoritative Word of God.
But we highly recommend you read any of these books with caution and discernment. If you find yourself influenced by the wording held within the books of the Apocrypha, then close them for the time being. And make sure to stay in the Word on a daily basis. Although it’s fun to explore extra-biblical books written millennia ago, it’s far more important to invest in God’s Word.

Why Was The Book Of Enoch Not Included In Our Bible
This question illuminates one of those painful intersections between theology and church history: the canonization of Scripture. To ask why the Book of Enoch hasnt found its way into the Protestant canon, even though it is quoted in the New Testament by Jude, is in the same vein of criticism as had by Martin Lutherwho didnt want the Epistle of Jude in Scripture because he could not identify some of its citations. We have now identified the source of such citations. In fact, throughout church history, many books have been scrutinized by theologians, and before those theologians, other theologians, and before such, were the members of the early church themselves, who also fought heavily over the writings that should and would be considered Scripture.
Examples: In the earliest stages of the church were the Ebionites, who preferred Matthew as their gospel. Another prominent believer was Marcion, who actually manufactured his own New Testament using a specially selected canon. And so it went until, by the time the church of Rome established its canon, the beliefs of the early church had passed through a pagan system and acquired the influences that factored into the assembly of the Catholic canon. This will evolve into the Protestant canon, which sloughed at least seven books of the Old Testament as well as other scriptural passages, during the process of losing its Catholicism.

In the Book of Enoch, the opening verses stipulate that the book has revelations not meant for Enochs generation. They are meant to be understood and absorbed by remote generations long after Enoch and Christ. It may be why the book, rejected by the church earlier, is rising into awareness in present times.
