What Bible Verse Gives You Strength

What Is The Most Important Bible Verse

Bible Verses On Strength

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have eternal life. For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God The LORD is my shepherd I shall not want.

All Strength Comes From God

It is so refreshing to know that we can rest in the strength and comfort that God will provide when facing troubles of many kinds. Let Him have the glory and show himself strong. Listen to this Bible verse: 2Chronicles 16:9 For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him. In this you have done foolishly therefore from now on you shall have wars. God wants to show Himself strong on your behalf. Surrender to Him today and let the peace that He gives you take over. We cannot fully serve God without full surrender to his Strength.

God Is My Strength And Defense: Exodus 1: 14

Then Moses and the Israelites sang this song to the Lord:

I will sing to the Lord, for he is highly exalted. Both horse and driverhe has hurled into the sea.

The Lord is my strength and my defense he has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise him,my fathers God, and I will exalt him.The Lord is a warrior the Lord is his name.Pharaohs chariots and his armyhe has hurled into the sea.The best of Pharaohs officersare drowned in the Red Sea.

For over 400 years, the Israelites were enslaved in Egypt. In a profound display of his power, God secured their release with 10 dramatic plagues. When Pharaoh changed his mind and sent his army off in pursuit of the fleeing Hebrews, God gave them passage through the Red Sea, and then closed the sea around the Egyptian army, completely destroying it.

This song of praise celebrates that rescue, and ultimately the fact that God is our deliverer. As well see in many of these passages, our strength is found in Gods might. As we look for our security in him, we are lifted up and protected by our champion defender.

Pray This Prayer When Your Strength Is All But Gone

Let this simple prayer be a starting point for you as you begin to talk with the Lord and ask Him to give you the strength that you need.

Lord, Im tired and my strength is all but gone. Will you help me to give you control of my life? Instead of doing things in my own strength will you give me the courage to trust in you and you alone. Help me not to look too far into the future that seems so scary but only one day at a time, trusting in you and your perfect plan for my life. Thank you that you promise to be with me every step of the journey and that your loving hand will guide me.

A week or so ago I put together a massive post with well over a hundred bible verses about money and talked about how we need to make sure that we always put God first in our lives before money and everything else.

We can easily allow money to become our master, and God can quickly move to the background if were not careful.

No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.Matthew 6:24

One thing that occurred to me in the midst of listing all those verses, however, is that I never really touched on a topic that seems to be especially important right now in the midst of a double dip recession when so many people are having a hard time. The idea of looking to God for strength in the midst of hard times.

We Have Strength In Our Weakness When We Have Faith In God

God tells us that not only do we have the strength within us given by Him, but that His power becomes even more valuable when we are weak. He works His strength within us during our times of weakness, and He instructs us to seek for His power and hold faith that His strength will perfectly carry us through.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10 But he said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Isaiah 40:31 By they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength they shall mount up with wings like eagles they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.

Ephesians 6:10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.

Psalm 31:24 Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the Lord!

1 Chronicles 16:11 Seek the Lord and his strength seek his presence continually!

Psalm 118:14 The Lord is my strength and my song he has become my salvation.

When You Are Weary

Caregiving is physically demanding you may be nursing someone whos sick or disabled, or lifting a child constantly. Just staying on top of the cooking, cleaning, and laundry can feel totally exhausting, in addition to the emotional stress youre experiencing. Sometimes, its not easy to get as much rest as we need, and at times like these, I rely on God to give me strength. In Matthew 11:28-30, Jesus urges us to come to him when we feel weary. I also love the image of an eagle rising above the storm in Isaiah 40:29-31: They that hope in the Lord will renew their strength, they will soar on eagles wings.

Caregiving can feel all-consuming, and at times, we may feel inadequate for the task. But placing daily reminders in my path reassures me of Gods presence and helps make the task feel less daunting.

What Is The Shortest Verse In The Bible

Bible verses about faith – God’s promises to give you strength and hope. Boost your faith today.

Most of the verses up above are relatively short and to the point, sharing their wisdom in few words.

But what is the actual shortest verse, in the English language, in the Bible? Here it is in John:

Jesus Wept.

John 11:35

In context, Jesus has just gone to see Lazarus after his friends sisters Mary and Martha sent word of his illness and impending death. He arrives only to find Lazarus has died 4 days before.

On the surface, this verse seems to be just telling us that Jesus loved Lazarus, and wept for him after he died. To me, there is so much more meaning found in those words.

The verse speaks to the fact that Jesus, although fully God, was also fully man. He humbled himself, and became man, and was able to truly feel the sadness of the moment.

It also speaks to the fact that Jesus had great compassion for those who felt the loss of Lazarus. The Greek word for wept in this scripture means to weep silently, whereas often in Hebrew culture loud weeping was done as a public show of grief, and was not always sincere. That he wept silently speaks to how sincere it was, and how Jesus truly felt compassion for the people there, the lost, and felt sadness that the wages of sin is death.

The shortest verse may not be very long, but the meaning encapsulated in its brief telling is much deeper than might first be seen.

Here are four more of the shortest verses:

1 Thessalonians 5:16 Rejoice always

1 Thessalonians 5:17 pray without ceasing,

Luke 17:32 Remember Lots wife!
