Bible Salvation: God Regenerates You

What Does The Bible Say About Salvation?

Paul tells us that we are justified. Now before I get to that very important word let me contrast it with another word, we need to know about regeneration.

When you trust Jesus, you are regenerated. To be saved is to experience regeneration. We use interchangeable terms like born again, believe in, saved, regenerated. So, when you put your faith in Christ, God has regenerated you. You have passed from darkness to light. From the power of Satan to God. From hell to heaven.

Now contrast that with this word that in Romans 5. The word justification. Regeneration has got to do with what takes place within the believers heart.

And justification concerns our standing before God. Regeneration is Gods answer to the matter of religious death. Justifications the answer to the problem of guilt.

First of all, to be justified means that you are forgiven of all of your sins. When you put your faith in Jesus all of your sins and guilt will completely wipe out. When you believe in Jesus you are forgiven.

Let me ask you a question

How many of you have ever done something you are ashamed of? Yeah. Me too.

I have said things I wish I had not said. Things I wish I could take back. But I cant.

And you say, Well that is the end of that. No. Actually, it isnt.

Because when a person is justified God forgives this thing.

Acts 13:38 says, Therefore, my friends, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you.

Temptation Is Not Sin Yielding To Temptation Is

With that background, Paul exhorted believers not to make the same choices the Israelites madenot to provoke Gods discipline by willfully sinning. None of us is above Gods discipline if we engage in sin. We must look for and take the way of escape God provides in every situation where temptation is found . To think our temptation is unique is to believe a lie. No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man . There are no new temptations in life.

The apostle James argued that if temptation becomes serious, it is because we have allowed it to do so. Our own desires entice us away from God and desire gives birth to sin . God doesnt tempt us, but He may allow temptation to enter our lives in order to give us opportunities to make obedient and mature choices.

Jesus was tempted by Satan in the wilderness, and He took the same means of escape that is available to usobedience to Gods Word . Temptation is not sin yielding to temptation is. There is always a righteous choice to be made if we are willing to seek it.

When Your Children Are In Wrong Relationships

  • For the child: Isaiah 49:25 “I will contend with him who contends with you and I will save your children”. This may seem like a strange verse for unhealthy relationships. However, relationships often contend for our priorities and the correct order of things. Let God contend with those things as importance of friendships, business partners, and spouses as they are growing up so that they will be armed with wisdom as they grow older. Then, as they grow older trust and lean on the fact that they have been equipped with the standards necessary to make good choices. Let the Holy Spirit remind them of his Word. It remains inside of them. “For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God” . Gods Word is imperishable another English translation uses the word “incorruptible.” He is the author and the finisher of your childrens faith! God may open a door for you to minister to your adult child about this. In the meantime? Let God contend
  • For the parent: Philippians 1:6 “being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

Why Are We Born Upon This Earth

We come here to gain bodies, bodies of flesh and blood, bodies whichâfollowing the natural deathâwe will receive back again in immortality. Those of us who arrive at the years of accountability are here to develop and to be tried and tested, to see if we can so live as to regain the state of innocence and purity which we enjoyed as children, and thereby be qualified to go where God and Christ are.

A Once Saved Always Saved Can We Lose Our Salvation Can We Be Saved Without Good Works

Growing 4 Life

However, the overall weight of Biblical evidence points to the conclusion that a person who goes on willfully sinning has either intentionally abandoned his or her faith or never sincerely made a faith commitment in the first place. True faith involves a commitment to trust God and to do our best to live according to His commandments:

Why Do We Pray For Our Kids

One of the main reasons we pray for our kids is that we give God permission to work in their lives. As you claim scripture promises for your children, you speak Gods words back to Him. Praying Scriptures over your children also reminds you that God wants only good things for your children and He holds their future.

These promises are things that we already know are His will, so we are asking God to work in our childs life and fulfill His promises in them. The following 31 verses are scripture promises that you can circle in your Bible and pray over your children.

A Have Faith In Christ

But now God has shown us a different way of being right in his sight–not by obeying the law but by the way promised in the Scriptures long ago. We are made right in God’s sight when we trust in Jesus Christ to take away our sins. And we all can be saved in this same way, no matter who we are or what we have done. For all have sinned all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet now God in his gracious kindness declares us not guilty. He has done this through Christ Jesus, who has freed us by taking away our sins. For God sent Jesus to take the punishment for our sins and to satisfy God’s anger against us. We are made right with God when we believe that Jesus shed his blood, sacrificing his life for us. God was being entirely fair and just when he did not punish those who sinned in former times. And he is entirely fair and just in this present time when he declares sinners to be right in his sight because they believe in Jesus. Can we boast, then, that we have done anything to be accepted by God? No, because our acquittal is not based on our good deeds. It is based on our faith. So we are made right with God through faith and not by obeying the law.

The “faith” Paul spoke of in his letters is a translation of the Greek word pistis. This word has implications of trust, firm conviction, obedience and commitment. So faith, in a Biblical sense, is more that just intellectual belief. It goes far beyond that and implies a commitment to trust God and let His will rule our lives.

D Obey Jesus’ Teachings

Jesus said to the people who believed in him, “You are truly my disciples if you keep obeying my teachings. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Those who obey my commandments are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them, and I will love them. And I will reveal myself to each one of them.”

Jesus Blessed The Children

Bible Study: What Does Salvation Mean to You

And they were bringing children to him that he might touch them, and the disciples rebuked them. But when Jesus saw it, he was indignant and said to them, Let the children come to me do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it. And he took them in his arms and blessed them, laying his hands on them.

Now they were bringing even infants to him that he might touch them. And when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them. But Jesus called them to him, saying, Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.

What Salvation Is How Do You Get It

The very word salvation says it all. Now we have used the word. You have probably even approached or someone came up to you with a wild-eyed look on their face and they say, Are you saved? They perpetually need to say it quite word.

It is not, Are you saved?

But, Friend, are you saved right now I have to ask you. What is wrong with you? Nothing is wrong with me.

And it seems a little overly dramatic doesnt it.

I am saved.

Do we have to use that term? I meant is not like I was out drowning at sea or I was in a burning house and I had to be saved. I was a reasonably good person and now I have put my faith in Jesus.

And no question I am going to heaven. No.

Saved is the perfect term to use because your fate was worse than being out at sea. It was worse than being in a burning house. You literally were pulled out of the flames by Jesus Christ Himself when you were saved. It is a big deal.

A really big deal.

What Is The Age Of Accountability

Accountability does not burst full-bloom upon a child at any given moment in his life. Children become accountable gradually, over a number of years. Becoming accountable is a process, not a goal to be attained when a specified number of years, days, and hours have elapsed. In our revelation the Lord says, âThey cannot sin, for power is not given unto Satan to tempt little children, until they begin to become accountable before me.â There comes a time, however, when accountability is real and actual and sin is attributed in the lives of those who develop normally. It is eight years of age, the age of baptism.

This principle of accountability has been twisted and perverted and even lost at various times. It was at the root of Mormonâs inquiry to the Lord about infant baptism. One of our most instructive passages on the point contains the words spoken by the Lord to Abraham. âMy people have gone astray from my precepts, and have not kept mine ordinances, which I gave unto their fathers,â the Lord said.

âAnd they have not observed mine anointing, and the burial, or baptism wherewith I commanded them

âBut have turned from the commandment, and taken unto themselves the washing of children, and the blood of sprinkling.â

Drawing Inspiration From Jesus Words: Let The Little Children Come To Me

This website is inspired by and named after Jesus words, Let the little children come to me. We believe that all children are fearfully and wonderfully made by God and that each child is precious in his sight. And that just as adults need salvation through faith in Jesus, children, too, need to hear the good news so that they, too, can be saved.

In our personal ministry to children, we had difficulty finding Gospel tracts to engage and share the Gospel with kids, as well as Gospel presentation tools that equip kids to share their faith with friends. This led us to embark on a journey to create the evangelism tools and resources found on this website. We are thankful that many have come to know Christ through these various child evangelism tools.

One of our favorite childrens song, Jesus Loves the Little Children, is also said to be inspired by Jesus words in Matthew 19:14:Jesus loves the little childrenAll the children of the worldRed and yellow, black and whiteThey are precious in His sightJesus loves the little children of the world

You can read more about this song here.

It is our prayer that as you evangelize to children with our gospel tools , you will do so prayerfully and commit your efforts to God. Any gospel presentation tool is useless without the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. It is He who would minister to the hearts of your listeners. Share the gospel in love and obedience, and leave the results to God.

B Practice Good Works

Sovereignty, Free Will, and Salvation

In , Paul said, “For we hold that a person is justified by faith apart from works prescribed by the law.” In other words, our salvation comes through our faith, not, as was commonly believed at the time, from obeying the Laws of Moses. However, Paul’s teaching has sometimes been interpreted as meaning that if we have faith, nothing else matters we don’t need to do “good works”, that is, obey God’s commandments, in order to be saved. However, that was not Paul’s interpretation at all. He said if the Spirit of Christ is truly within us, we will turn away from evil deeds:

Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. If your sinful nature controls your mind, there is death. But if the Holy Spirit controls your mind, there is life and peace… So, dear brothers and sisters, you have no obligation whatsoever to do what your sinful nature urges you to do. For if you keep on following it, you will perish. But if through the power of the Holy Spirit you turn from it and its evil deeds, you will live. For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.

A Love God Love Your Neighbor

One day an expert in religious law stood up to test Jesus by asking him this question: “Teacher, what must I do to receive eternal life?” Jesus replied, “What does the law of Moses say? How do you read it?” The man answered, ” ‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind.’ And, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ “”Right!”Jesus told him. “Do this and you will live!”

1. Love God.

2. Love Your Neighbor.

The Salvation Of Children

As a dad, the question concerning my childrens salvation has been a constant companion of mine. As I have searched for solid resources on the subject I have found precious little and what I have found has left me wanting more. It truly is startling to me how little has been provided for the church and for parents to guide them in this area. However, as I have often been reminded, the scripture alone stands as sufficient for all we need in life and godlinessand frankly there isnt much that is found outside the categories of life and godlinessso the scripture is clearly all we really need. As we look to scripture here are a couple of really important truths to anchor us as we seek the salvation of our children.

Are Children Tainted With Original Sin

Absolutely not. There is no such thing as original sin as such is defined in the creeds of Christendom. Such a concept denies the efficacy of the atonement. Our revelation says: âEvery spirit of man was innocent in the beginningââmeaning that spirits started out in a state of purity and innocence in preexistenceââand God having redeemed man from the fall, men became again, in their infant state, innocent before Godâ âmeaning that all children start out their mortal probation in purity and innocence because of the atonement. Our revelations also say, âThe Son of God hath atoned for original guilt, wherein the sins of the parents cannot be answered upon the heads of the children, for they are whole from the foundation of the world.â
