What Does The Bible Say About The Importance Of Family

Do Not Concentrate On Revenging

What does the Bible say about cremation?

1st Thessalonians 5: 15 reads, Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong but always strive to do what is good for each other and for everyone else.

The secret of winning as a family is to let things go. The pressure of having to live in a world where many people are after their own gains are numerous. Your family may suffer injustices as a result of this, and the last thing you want to do is sit back and watch people take advantage. Well, that is exactly what the word of God asks of you. Keep praying for you and your family as you wait on God’s vengeance which is sure and perfect. When you do good to others, the peace of God will dwell within you and your family.

First Biblical Truth: You Dont Own Your Kids God Does

Behold, all souls are mine as the soul of the father, soalso the soul of the son is mine

The earth and everything in it, the world and its inhabitants, belong to the LORD This truth is such a vital one to hold on to, in contrast to the world. Its so easy to start to believe that you own your kids. Legally, in many countries, including many ways the U.S. law regards children, they are still treated more like property than persons. Dont let this worldly view infect yours. Your children are Gods. You, as a parent, are their stewards.

Better Parenting Through Spirit

Before Jesus ascended to heaven after His resurrection, He gave His disciples clear instructions: They were to go into all the world and teach people to follow Jesus , baptizing them and teaching them to obey His teachings . Before they did that, He instructed them to wait to receive the empowerment of the Holy Spirit .

When it comes to making disciples, families are a critical mission field. Its in your home and with your children that you share the good news of Jesus and demonstrate what it looks like to truly follow Him. But to do that, you need to recognize the second part of this equation.

Jesus spent three years with the disciples. They had experienced and seen amazing things. They were itching to tell the world about the Messiah, but Jesus instructed them to wait.

Why? They werent ready.

The disciples needed something else. They needed the Holy Spirit, who would give them the ability to live out the gospel and share it with power and authority.

If the Spirit was an integral element of evangelism and disciple-making, how much more so is He integral to raising your family? Parenting advice is useful, but it wont make up for a deficiency in this area. Christian parenting is an extension of the Christian life and that requires walking in the Spirit.

Do All You Can To Keep Peace

What does the Bible say about Christian blended families ...

Romans 12: 18 reads, If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.

This is one of the most powerful Bible verses about family unity. Peace is a major component for any united family. When people are peaceful, they agree together. Families with discord cannot come together without a fight. The Bible urges all people to work on being peaceful, for their own good.

What Should Be The Priorities For A Christian Family

  • 2 minute read

This answer is also available in:FrançaisEspañol

According to the Bible, there are several priorities for a Christian family.

God

The Bible teaches that God comes first. In Deuteronomy 6:5 we read, Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. All of ones heart, soul, and strength is to be committed to our loving Heavenly Father.

Spouse

If a person is married, then the spouse comes next. This is where a new family begins. A married man is to love his wife as Christ loved the church . Christs first priorityafter obeying and glorifying the Fatherwas the church. In the same way, wives are to submit to their husbands as to the Lord . A womans husband is second only to God in her priorities.

Children

If a couple has children, their children should be the next priority. Parents are to raise godly children who will be the next generation of those who love the Lord with all their hearts .

Parents

The fifth commandment says, Honor your father and your mother . So, parents are next in the list of priorities after God, our spouses, and our children. After parents comes the rest of ones family or relatives .

Church

World

Our final priority is to the rest of the world to whom we should love and reach out to with the good news of Gods salvation.

The Bible And Your Kids

Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.

God was explicit in telling the Israelites to pass His law on to their children. The Israelites were to be a people whose lives centered around what they received from the Lord. The message here is that children absorb what they see, so its imperative that theyre raised in an environment where Gods Word is valued and shared. That is what is meant by impressing these things on your children.

This is about more than reading the Bible with your children. This is about having a faith that is so central to everyday life that it comes up naturally all the time. Its a conversational faith that reinforces how and why these things are important to your family.

The admonition to attach symbols to hands, foreheads, doorways and gates reminded the Israelites that their lives revolved around Gods Word. The modern equivalent is to find ways that your childs environment reinforces the truths of Jesus you profess.

Pay Evil With Blessings

What is going on in the world and what does the Bible have to say about it? June 21, 2021 #Prophecy

1st Peter 3: 9-11 reads, 9 Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing. 10 For, Whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech. 11 They must turn from evil and do good they must seek peace and pursue it.

All Christian families are called to pursue peace by all means. It does not matter if you are provoked to react differently, focus on the end goal for the reward of blessing is assured.

Gods Heart For Christian Families

In praying and contemplating doing a post on Bible verses about family I struggled with the knowledge that many of the people who will read this post come, like I do, from broken families or have a broken family.

I did not want to come across as presenting some type of ideal that is either unrealistic or harsh when our realities are that we have not had the perfect family that we would all like to have.

However there is an ideal, a goal that all of us can work towards meeting that will have great benefits both here on earth and when we get to heaven.

You see, in these family scriptures, Gods heart is revealed that He wants the family to be whole and healthy and has a plan to see that it is that way.

Not because He is some type of ogre that would force us to fit into some type of mold, but because He is a loving father that has an eternities worth of experience that knows what works best.

So I present to you the heart of God for the Christian family revealed in His word. May we all, myself included see more of His heart become reality in our families.

Thoughts About The Mans Role In The Family

These Bible verses about family are ones that are both much abused at times, and much hated by those that have been the victims of that abuse.

Men are held accountable by God for the leadership of the family. They are called by God to be the head of the family and thus are the ones that will stand before God on judgment day and give an account of how they have led their families.

The Bible shows that when a family and the leader of that family allow the presence of God and the servants of God to come and be a part of that family that the blessings of God come to that family.

Men, how many of you want your families and your life to be filled with blessings? Then start to be the leader that God has called you to be!

In my community, there is a spineless excuse that many men use concerning spiritual matters and the way they lead their families. They say that things concerning spiritual matters, church, and Christian living are not macho and masculine.

Men let me ask you a question? Are you saying Jesus was a mammas boy? You just attempt to do what He did and see how macho and masculine you really are!

Quit being a wimp and start leading your family like Jesus.

The Bible shows that the man is called to be the priest or pastor of the family. He is called to lead them in spiritual matters and in the worship of God. The man is to be the one that sets the spiritual tone and direction of the household.
