How To Overcome With Faith

What does the Bible says about Failure.

To illustrate how faith produces perseverance, which produces joy, I have a testimony from my own life. God has been giving me countless creative ideas on my 30-minute drives to and from work each day. Most of these ideas revolve around videography and filmmaking, but they seemed impossible at first, because my current camera equipment couldnt accomplish these dreams. I needed a better camera setup and I also needed people to train me on how to turn my ideas into reality. Well, I didnt really have enough money to afford new equipment. But that didnt stop me from believing.

I was confident in what I hoped for and I was sure of what I did not yet see. I asked God to provide for this dream that he had given me. Before long, several thousand dollars showed up from a place I didnt expect, and I was contacted by somebody who had the expertise I needed and wanted to collaborate. Can you believe that?! Its hard to believe in things before they happen, but once you start to see these things happen regularly in your life, you will be filled with joy. Continue reading Does God Want Me to Fail.

You may have a long list of those with whom you feel angry. It might be the governor of your state, your employer, the health department, your manager, your landlord, etc. Whoever it is that gave you the pink slip, or caused you to have to close the doors on the business that you worked so hard to build, you must find the way to forgive them.

Bible Verses About Failure

They have all turned aside, together they have become corrupt There is no one who does good, not even one.

If you do not listen, and if you do not take it to heart to give honor to My name, says the Lord of hosts, then I will send the curse upon you and I will curse your blessings and indeed, I have cursed them already, because you are not taking it to heart.

But Peter said to Him, Even though all may fall away because of You, I will never fall away.Jesus said to him, Truly I say to you that this very night, before a rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.Peter *said to Him, Even if I have to die with You, I will not deny You. All the disciples said the same thing too.

Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.

There are practical questions to ask yourself after you have prayed and rested in God. He will highlight some pathways for you. God will do this by showing you something in scripture, by having a friend give you a suggestion, or you will sense direction while you pray. Somehow, our good God will lead you and help you.

Mature Attitudes About Failure And Success

Mature believers understand that a Christian can become successful in spite of failure because of Gods incredible grace and forgiveness. We may have to live with the results of some of our failures or sins, yet God is free to continue to love us in Christ and use us for His purposes because of grace .

The mature believer seeks to use failures as lessons for growth and change. Mature believers will act on two principles: They understand that failures remind us of the consequences of our decisions. We reap what we sow. This is the law of harvest. Failures remind us of what can happen, they can make us careful, but they should not be allowed to paralyze us. The mature believer recognizes that our failures show us what we should and should not do they become lessons in where we went wrong and why. You know what they say, hindsight is 10/20. It can help us avoid the same mistake twice if we will learn from history.

Does God Want Me To Fail

When Jesus, Gods perfect Son, became human, he experienced much of our human pain. He felt grief, physical suffering, and even loneliness when he was separated from God the Father. But one thing he never experienced was defeat. I want to strengthen my fellow believers who are reading this: You will never experience defeat either. You may be asking does God want me to fail? God has equipped his children to overcome lifes hardships.

I have been crucified with Christ and it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. Those are the words of Galatians 2:20, written by Paul, one of the forerunners of the Christian faith. Christ lives in us, and he has never once been defeated. Even when he died, he came back to life because death did not have victory over him. There is no possibility that we will ever be defeated in this life even situations that look like defeat are hidden victories for Jesus. God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow in heaven and on Earth and under the Earth. . How could anything be more powerful than Jesus? He will never be defeated, and he lives in you so lets talk about how to change our perspective when life is challenging. Does God want me to fail. Absolutely not, but in our weakness he is strong. Lean on him the powerful one who lives within you.

What Does God Say About Failure

What Does the Bible Say About Luck?

Are you one to take your failures personally? Meaning, do you see an imperfect performance as evidence that you are not good enough? Our performance can become so tightly woven into our identity that we are unable to separate the two.

A lost job screams you dont have what it takes!, a broken relationship shakes its crooked finger at you telling you you just arent lovable! When we see these failures through our own eyes with our limited human perspective, they hurt. BAD. But what does God say about failure?

Jesus Unshaken By Failure

Jesus calls his followers to handle their lack of faith by fixing their eyes on him. I saw this in a new way when reading through John last month, focusing on the conversations Jesus has. John 13-16 shares the conversation between Jesus and his disciples in the hours before his death, and in these chapters we see that Jesus is not shaken by their lack of faith. He doesnt ignore it either he actually points it out several times, as he did throughout in his ministry. But he constantly turns their attention back to himself, calling them to believe in him, offering promise after promise to be with them and help them glorify God.

In 13:37-14:1, he predicts Peter will deny him that night, but then assures the disciples that he will bring them to be with him and the Father:

Peter said to Him, Lord, why can I not follow you right now? I will lay down my life for you. Jesus answered, Will you lay down your life for me? Truly, truly, I say to you, a rooster will not crow until you deny me three times.

Do not let your heart by troubled believe in God, believe also in me. In My Fathers house are many dwelling places I go to prepare a place for you.

Shortly after, Philip asks that Jesus show them the Father. Jesus points out their lack of faith in his unity with the Father, but then promises to act when they pray, send them the Holy Spirit, and return for them.

There Is Hope And There Is Salvation

BUT! Before you jump into a pit of despair because of how hopeless this all seems, let me tell you the good news by sharing with you these verses below.

Romans 7:24 Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 3:23-26 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by His grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation by His blood, to be received by faith. This was to show Gods righteousness, because in His divine forbearance He had passed over former sins. It was to show His righteousness at the present time, so that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

Romans 5:8 but God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 4:22-25 That is why his faith was counted to him as righteousness. But the words it was counted to him were not written for his sake alone, but for ours also. It will be counted to us who believe in Him who raised from the dead Jesus our Lord, who was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification.

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

God Uses Our Failures To Reveal Our Sin And Change Our Futures:

God can use our brokenness and our failed experiences to reveal our sin and change the course of our lives forever. In our brokenness, it is safe to say that we need Jesus. But in our sinful state, it is often impossible for us to admit this.

I know this was definitely the case for me. For months I lived in sin. I basically turned my back on God to the point where I didnt even realize that my sins were actually sins.

It wasnt until I had my biggest mess up that God was really able to reveal my life for what it actually was. The bible tells us in Psalm 34 verse 18 that The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.

This verse was never more real for me than at that moment when I hit rock bottom.

When we are in a state of brokenness when we feel as though weve failed God completely, we are much more open and willing to listen to what God has to say. God is then able to use these moments to reveal the defects in our character, that would otherwise be difficult for us to see.

And because we are now willing to see our weaknesses, we can ask God to help us have true victory.

If God hadnt gotten my attention when I was living in sin, He surely got my attention after I failed to retain the lease on my apartment. That was the true turning point for me and Ill be forever grateful that God got my attention before I made even bigger and more permanent bad decisions.

If we organized a conference on Failure and Disappointment, do you think anyone would come? If you wrote a book on that subject, do you think anyone would buy it? Failure and disappointment are not popular topics. They dont sell tickets or books. They dont generate clicks, as Internet marketers assure us. We dont want to think about our own failures and disappointments, never mind hear about those of others. We live in a success culture that idolizes victory and fulfillment. But its all so unreal.

When we turn to the Bible, were given a deep dose of reality. Failure and disappointment are on just about every page. Whether we like it or not, thats much truer to life than the success narratives that we aspire to and are trying to write for ourselves. By all means, aim high, but recognize that no one escapes failure and disappointment. So, we might as well plan on it and prepare for it with a view to profiting from it.

Profiting from failure and disappointment? Are you serious? Yes, like many of Gods people, Ive found seasons of failure and disappointment to be some of the most spiritually productive times of my life.

I Will Instruct You And Teach You In The Way You Should Go I Will Counsel You With My Loving Eye On You Psalm : 8

If you do not yet know God through Jesus Christ, take the step of learning who Jesus is. You then can ask Him into your life with a simple prayer, Jesus, forgive me for the way I have lived up until now. Help me to know you. I want to follow you. Fill me with your Holy Spirit. In Your name, I pray. Amen

Overcome The Fact Of Failure

Many people never overcome their failures because they never forgive themselves for failing. Instead of moving beyond failure to success, they continue to punish themselves with self-inflicted guilt. If you have failed, admit it and start over. Confession is the key to shaking off the past. The Bible says, He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy .

To fail is not to be a failure. Everyone fails sooner or later. The key to success is determining how you will handle your failure. If you try to hide it, it will haunt you. If you confess it, you can conquer it. Forgive yourself and accept Gods forgiveness as a genuine expression of His grace.
