What Does The Bible Say About Faithfulness

A Lack Of Faith Creates Loss

What Does the Bible Say About Faith? Matthew 17 :14 Christian Inspiration Bible Study

But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord. When you come to God in prayer, remain faithful for He is faithful. The ultimate sacrifice of all time was Christs death on the cross to defeat sin. It truly is a miracle that your own life will be spared from eternal torment in hell by having faith in Christs death and choosing Him as Savior and Lord of your life because everyone deserves hell. If you can have faith in the most important thing, life eternal with Christ in heaven through His death, then have faith on the smaller issues here on earth.

God Was Faithful To Abraham

Abraham, the father of the Jewish people, was a faithful patriarch, endured hardship along the way, but also made some bad decisions. He did not always demonstrate faithfulness to God, but God always remained faithful to Abraham.

One of the great signs of Gods faithfulness was the long-anticipated birth of Abrahams son Isaac to fulfill the promise and covenant God made with Abraham.

Sarah became pregnant and bore a son to Abraham in his old age, at the very time God had promised him. Genesis 21:2 NIV

When Does Faith Come Last Facts Or Feelings

Facts form the foundation faith rests on facts and feelings come last. For most people, feelings are the guiding factor in life. If they feel something, they think it is real. If they do not feel anything, they think it is not real. But this is not according to Gods order. Others try to put faith first.

Bible Verses About Marriage

The Bible contains numerous references to the sanctity and beauty of marriage. Its poetic love scriptures eloquently sum up what it means to be in love and to commit yourself to your significant other for the rest of your life. These Bible verses about marriage are the ideal addition to your wedding vows, and make beautiful readings to help make your ceremony even more special. For your reception toast, wedding programs or invitations, consider using other Bible verses about love that everyone can relate to. After all, there’s a myriad of ways to love one another outside of marriage.

1. Genesis 1:27-28: “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him male and female he created them. And God blessed them. And God said to them, ‘Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.’ “

2. Malachi 2:14-15: “But you say, ‘Why does he not?’ Because the LORD was witness between you and the wife of your youth, to whom you have been faithless, though she is your companion and your wife by covenant.”

3. Isaiah 54:5: “For your Maker is your husband, the LORD of hosts is his name and the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer, the God of the whole earth he is called.”

6. Colossians 3:14: “And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.”

Bible Verses On Gods Faithfulness

One of my very favorite things about God is that He is faithful. Whenever He makes a promise He keeps it. We see this theme over and over again throughout the Bible and each new story is just as amazing as the last. Do you remember the story of Daniel in the Lions Den? God was faithful to Daniel whenever He closed the lions mouths. What about the time whenever God kept Moses safe as he floated down the Nile River in a basket?

God was faithful then and He is faithful now. I cant tell you how many times Ive prayed and God has given me what I needed. Not always what I wantedbut He has always given me what I needed. What promise has God kept to you? Whenever you are feeling forgotten, use these verses to remind you of the promise of Gods faithfulness.

Deuteronomy 7:9 Know therefore that the LORD your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations,

2 Timothy 2:13 If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself.

Psalm 33:4 For the Word of the Lord is upright, And all His work is done in faithfulness.

Psalm 91:4 He will cover you with His pinions, And under His wings you may seek refuge His faithfulness is a shield and bulwark.

2 Thessalonians 3:3 The Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

God Was Faithful To Isaac

Abrahams son Isaac is remembered as a righteous follower of God who served and loved faithfully. But Isaac had bouts of unfaithfulness, as we all do. He lied about his relationship with his wife Rebekah and there was that mess with his sons Jacob and Esau.

Although Isaac repeated some of the mistakes of his father Abraham, God proved faithful and confirmed the covenant he had made with Abraham. Isaacs life was full of examples of faith.

The Lord appeared to Isaac and said, Do not go down to Egypt live in the land where I tell you to live. Stay in this land for a while, and I will be with you and will bless you. For to you and your descendants, I will give all these lands and will confirm the oath I swore to your father Abraham. I will make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and will give them all these lands, and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed, because Abraham obeyed me and did everything I required of him, keeping my commands, my decrees, and my instructions. Genesis 26:2-5 NLT

Faithfulness And Loyalty In Relationships

Have you ever been betrayed? Have you ever put your trust in someone only to have it broken? Sadly, most of us can answer yes to these questions. In a fallen world, faithfulness and loyalty in relations are rare. This is why the divorce rate is so high in America and why there are so many broken relationships. One of the most effective ways to ensure faithfulness and loyalty in a relationship is by setting an example of these things yourself. This is the message in Proverbs 3:3: Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you bind them around your neck write them on the tablet of your heart.

Because of the conditions in which they were raised, some people have never seen faithfulness or loyalty in a relationship. As a result, they dont know how to be faithful or loyal. Faithfulness and loyalty elements of the Greatest Commandment. Part of loving your neighbors as yourself is being faithful and loyal to them. Some of the saddest stories Ive ever heard came from people who were let down by unfaithful or disloyal spouses, relatives, friends, or coworkers. I have seen marriages destroyed, friendships lost, relationships severed, teams torn apart, and partnerships dissolved because of the unfaithfulness of one of the parties. I suspect you have too.

FAITHFULNESS AND LOYALTY IN THE BIBLE

BENEFITS OF FAITHFULNESS AND LOYALTY

We Are Subject To Authority

Bible Verses About Faithfulness [FAITHFULNESS IN THE BIBLE!]

“Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.” Romans 13:1-2

Let me share with you a reality that some people may find difficult to accept we should obey government and those in authority. Paul says let everyone be subject to the governing authorities. Paul in making this statement gave no qualifiers but he did give a reason. We are subject to authority because it has been established by God and the authority government exercises has been given to them by God. To choose not to obey government, when there is no biblical reason for doing so, which I will address later, is to rebel against what God has established. This remains true regardless of who is in power.

Are You Wondering How To Be Faithful

Once someone puts their trust in Christ and becomes saved the Holy Spirit immediately dwells in that person. Unlike other religions, Christianity is God in us. Allow the Spirit to lead your life. Yield yourself to the Spirit. Once this happens being faithful is not something that is forced. Being faithful is no longer accomplished legalistically. The Spirit produces faith so being faithful becomes genuine.

Its so easy to do something out of duty rather than love. When we yield to the Spirit Gods desires become our desires. Psalm 37:4 Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart. One of the most important aspects of being saved is getting to know and enjoy Christ.

Through Christ you have been saved from the wrath of God. However, now you can begin to know Him, enjoy Him, walk with Him, have fellowship with Him, etc. Once you start becoming more intimate with Christ in prayer and once you get to know His presence, your faithfulness to Him will grow along with your desire to please Him.

To be faithful to God you have to realize how much He loves you. Remember how He has been faithful in the past. You have to trust and believe Him. To grow in these things, you have to spend time with Him and allow Him to speak to you.

32. Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control against such things there is no law.

Reminders

What Is Meant By The Faithfulness Of God

God is faithful. The Psalmist proclaimed, For the Lord is good His lovingkindness is everlasting and His faithfulness to all generations. . What does it mean to say God is faithful? Is our saying He is faithful based on our perception of how we define faithfulness?

Recently I was praying about a matter of great concern, and the Lord graciously heard my cry, and in His grace I witnessed and experienced His hand move on my behalf and grant the answer to my request. I was thanking the Lord for how he granted my petition and said in praise, Lord, I want to thank you for your faithfulness. I stopped in the middle of my prayer, and asked myself this question, Was I equating Gods faithfulness to the fact that he granted my petition? Well, what if He had not granted my petition, would He then have been unfaithful? Is Gods faithfulness determined by whether or not he beckons to my request to turn situations and circumstances to my favor? Does Gods faithfulness in my life mean the absence of difficulties?

Gods faithfulness cannot be defined by our perception as to whether or not events or circumstances work out in what we perceive to be in our favor. God is faithful even if events dont turn out as we wish or think they should. God will never deny His own character or His divine plan to grant our request. God is always faithful to His character, for Him to do otherwise He would become unfaithful. Several examples are cited as to what is meant.

Blessings,

We Should Be Thankful For Authority

For the one in authority is Gods servant for your good – Romans 13:4a

One thing I want to say that we dont often think about, especially in this culture where people can be highly critical of government, is we need to be thankful that we have government. Without it there would be chaos and anarchy. Having authority in place is a good thing and when they are doing their job properly, they are supposed to be serving your good. I know this is somewhat idealistic but regardless of how you feel about government and authority, it is better than anarchy. When you think about obeying government remember to be thankful because God has established it for your own good.

  • Weekly Devotional: Fruit of the Spirit Faithfulness

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Ill believe it when I see it.

Do you ever find yourself thinking this way?

Its easy to slip into the mindset of doubt and cynicism. We live in a broken world, and we may have gone through painful experiences that cause us to lose our trust in others.

For this reason, faithfulness, a fruit of the Spirit, can be a challenging trait to possess.

Faithfulness comes from a place of trust and loyalty. Hebrews 11:1 says, Now faith is a confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.

As a Christian, it is important to be faithful to God. It is one thing to simply believe in Him, but another to be faithful to Him. When we are truly faithful to God, this shapes the way we live. For example, we are able to be loyal in our relationships here on Earth and truly love others.

Faithfulness requires us to submit our ways to God. It comes from a place of realizing that we are in need of a Savior and that He is in control of our lives.

Proverbs 19:21 says, Many are the plans in a persons heart, but it is the Lords purpose that prevails. We are to be faithful to God, because He is faithful to us.

Ultimately, the story of Abraham shows how God blesses those who are faithful and trust in His plans.

What Does The Bible Say About A Faithful Man

Many a man claims to have unfailing love, but a faithful man who can find? The righteous man leads a blameless life blessed are his children after him. When a king sits on his throne to judge, he winnows out all evil with his eyes. Who can say, I have kept my heart pure I am clean and without sin?

Is It Ever Appropriate To Disobey Government

As I mentioned before we are people who live under authority. The ultimate authority that we follow is the word of God. The only time it is appropriate to disobey government or authority is when what they are asking you to do violates Gods word or Gods standards. If you dont like something but it does not disagree with Gods standards, then you still have a responsibility to obey it. Thats why before you rebel, make sure your rebellion is founded in biblical reasons and not just popular ones. Anything other than a biblical reason means you are not living up to Gods standard. This goes beyond what we like and dont like, or who we like and dont like. This prioritizes the truth of Gods word above everything else and removes our subjective feelings from the equation.

What does the Bible say about laughter? The Bible says that laughter is from God, useful in praise, a symbol of victory, and part of the joy of a Christian life even after hard times. Websters Dictionary defines laughter as, A cause of merriment. Laughter is good medicine. When we have hearts of gratitude and joy, this will overflow into our everyday lives. Others will see the life of victory and desire what we have too. Shining for Jesus can very much include laughter. Have you laughed today? If not, ask the Lord to fill you with His joy and that you may live in His sweet victory and gift of having an attitude of laughter.
