Gods Plan Can Sometimes Be Confusing To Us

What does the Bible say about Christian blended families ...

There is a world of difference between the way God sees things and how we see things. This can confuse our part when God does not follow the logical path in our point of view. Let us remember that between God and humans, God has a better way of seeing things, so we should follow Him and do as He says.

Mosesgiver Of The Law

Moses was the father of two sons, Gershom and Eliezer, and he also served as a father figure to the entire Hebrew people as they escaped from slavery in Egypt. He loved them and helped discipline and provide for them on their 40-year journey to the Promised Land. At times Moses seemed to be a larger-than-life character, but he was only a man. He shows today’s fathers that overwhelming tasks can be achieved when we stay close to God.

Lessons to Learn From Moses

  • With God all things are possible.
  • Sometimes we must delegate to be a good leader.
  • God desires intimate fellowship with every believer.
  • No one can follow God’s laws perfectly. We all need a Savior.

Honor Your Father And Mother

âHonor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the LORD your God is giving you.â

The Israelites were commanded to honor their fathers and mothers as part of their covenant with God. Dishonoring their parents dishonored God. But this isnât just an ancient commandment for the Israelites. Itâs for us too.

Paul repeats this commandment to Christians in Ephesians 6:1â3:

âChildren, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. âHonor your father and motherâ , âthat it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land.ââ

And in Colossians 3:20, Paul paraphrases this commandment and connects it to our relationship with God:

âChildren, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.â

Who Is God The Father Within The Trinity

Though the word trinity isnt found in Scripture, we can see it demonstrated through out Scripture. The Trinity is three individual persons and one essence. In Paragraph 3 of the 1689 London Baptist Confession it says In this divine and infinite Being there are three subsistences, the Father, the Word or Son, and Holy Spirit, of one substance, power, and eternity, each having the whole divine essence, yet the essence undivided: the Father is of none, neither begotten nor proceeding the Son is eternally begotten of the Father the Holy Spirit proceeding from the Father and the Son all infinite, without beginning, therefore but one God, who is not to be divided in nature and being, but distinguished by several peculiar relative properties and personal relations which doctrine of the Trinity is the foundation of all our communion with God, and comfortable dependence on Him.

15) 1 Corinthians 8:6 Yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.

16) 2 Corinthians 13:14 May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

17)John 10:30 I and the Father are one.

18)Matthew 28:19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

Bible Verses About Physical Parenting Responsibilities

What the Bible Says Every Christian Should Know About Fatherhood & Family (Fathers Day 2012)

2 Corinthians 12:14

Now I am coming to you for the third time, and I will not be a burden to you. I dont want what you haveI want you. After all, children dont provide for their parents. Rather, parents provide for their children.

As parents, it is our responsibility to provide for our children materially and physically. The things that we provide for them, a roof over their heads, food on the table, clothes on their back, and their education and not privileges that we shower on them.

These are our responsibilities to them. It is our job as parents to provide. And we do it because we love them, and we want them to have the best in life. As God provides for us, His children, we should also provide for our children.

1 Timothy 5:8

Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

Parents should provide for their children. I know that parents would go to unbelievable lengths to provide for their children, so if you feel like you cannot give them enough, breathe. You are doing your best and if that is not enough, ask God to fill in the gaps because you are His child, and He would love to provide for you.

He Requires That Fathers Teach

Fathers, how can we forget the awesome responsibility the Lord has given us to bring up our children in light and truth?

In Doctrine and Covenants 68:25â28 , the Lord gave us strict instructions concerning our patriarchal responsibility. He commanded us toâ

1. See that our children understand the first principles of the gospel.

2. See that our children are baptized at eight years of age and receive the âlaying on of the handsâ for the companionship of the Holy Ghost.

3. See that our children do certain things: pray and âwalk uprightly before the Lord.â

The Lord reminded us that this is âa law unto the inhabitants of Zion.â

Isnât it interesting that the Lord asks us to begin to teach our children to understand when they are young, before Satan has any influence on them and when parents are the most powerful force in their lives?

Note, also, that the responsibility of teaching the truth to our children is not placed on the Church, the school, the community, or peers. President Joseph F. Smith gave parents some sound counsel on this subject:

âDo not let your children out to specialists in these things, but teach them by your own precept and example, by your own fireside. Be a specialist yourself in the truth. Let our meetings, schools and organizations, instead of being our only or leading teachers, be supplements to our teachings and training in the home.â

Have we abdicated our right, leaving a vacuum to be filled by inadequate substitutes?

Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! .

Abrahamfather Of The Jewish Nation

31 Fathers Day Bible Verses [FATHERS DAY SCRIPTURES!] | Just Bible Verses

What could be more frightening than being the father of an entire nation? That was the mission God gave Abraham. He was a leader of tremendous faith, passing one of the most difficult tests God ever gave a man: offering his son Isaac as a sacrifice. Abraham made mistakes when he relied on himself instead of God. Still, he embodied qualities that any father would be wise to develop.

He Protects His Children

Then I said to you, Do not be in dread or afraid of them. The Lord your God who goes before you will himself fight for you, just as he did for you in Egypt before your eyes, and in the wilderness, where you have seen how the Lord your God carried you, as a man carries his son, all the way that you went until you came to this place.

Deuteronomy 1:29-31

Just as God fights for his children, fathers strive to do the same. I love the picture in the verse above about God carrying us as a man carries his son.

Last night, my son was riding his bike and found a snake in the yard. He ran up the driveway toward me, crying. When dad found out and began his snake hunt, Gabriel brazenly walked in his footsteps to meet the scary predator.

I asked him, why did he do that? Because, he said, I knew dad would protect me.

Its the same with us and God we dont have to fear this world, because our Father is with us.

Tell me in the comments: what do you appreciate most about your dad? Any bible verses to add?

What Does The Bible Say About Mothers

One of the first thing we see the Bible say about mothers is that motherhood was Gods idea. Within the creation narrative we know God created male and female. One of the purposes for creating members of the opposite sex was for procreation. It was Gods intention that a man and a woman would come together in , and one of the possible outcomes of that union would be the ability to procreate, therefore creating mothers and fathers.

It was Gods plan to create family units with mothers and fathers that would be responsible for raising children. After Adam and Eve were created, God gave them an instruction to be fruitful and multiply. This would not just serve Adam and Eve, but literally all humanity. The beauty of it is that Eve would not just be the mother of her children, but the mother of all the living which is what her name means.

Adam named his wife Eve, because she would become the mother of all the living .
