Should You Pursue Holy Laughter

What Does the Bible Say about Laughter?

Finally, should you be pursuing holy laughter in your spiritual life?

No, probably not. Practices like it are extraneous to the Christian life.

As best as I can tell, if holy laughter is Holy Spirit inspired, there is nothing you can do to cause it to happen or bring it on by trying. If the Holy Spirit ever inspires holy laughter in you, then enjoy it. Otherwise, dont do it and dont worry about it.

I hope this helps!

As a youngster, we would repetitively sing joyful songs in Sunday school. Many of these songs have remained with me for several decades.

I might have forgotten what Sister So-and-So taught us about Daniel, but I havent forgotten the songs.

One such song that we sang went something like this: I got the joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart! Where? Down in my heart!

Another song included these lyrics: Joy unspeakable and full of glory, full of glory, full of glory

We often talked about and sang about joy and happiness in church. As I grew older, however, I discovered that life was not always full of happiness.

Happiness, in many situations, is a state of mind.

Joy, conversely, was a state of my heart.

It was important for me to discover what God said about joy and happiness. He said a ton about both!

Lets uncover as many Biblical truths about joy and happiness together as possible.

Are Joy And Laughter The Same

During my research, it states joy is a separate emotion, which only enhances laughter because of our heightened state of positive emotion.

I can say with 100% accuracy that since rededicating my life to Jesus Christ back in 2013 I have joy and laughter that simply cant be explained at times.

Now at my church, we laugha lot!! Thats a good thing. However, Ive heard stories where laughing during church services is frowned upon. What? Say it isnt so right?

Just because were Christians does not mean you can longer laugh and must be serious all the time. The Christian life is a fun fulfilled life! Not boring! Let this song bring both laughter and joy!

    Humor And Christs Natures

Theologically speaking, however, we must come to terms with humor in relation to the divine and human natures of Christ, or what theologians call the hypostatic union:I have always thought that Hypostatic Union would be a great name for a Christian band. Maybe they exist?

In the incarnation of the Son of God, a human nature was inseparably united forever with the divine nature in the one person of Jesus Christ, yet with the two natures remaining distinct, whole, and unchanged, without mixture or confusion so that the one person, Jesus Christ, is truly God and truly man.Walter A. Elwell, ed., Evangelical Dictionary of Theology , under Hypostatic Union.

It follows, given Christs human nature, that He laughed . Besides, Jesus had 12 disciples. Get 12 guys together, have them hang out for awhile, and they will definitely laugh at something probably a lot of things.

Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving .

Gentle chiding between friends is normal and acceptable among believers. However crude jokes, offensive remarks, or a sarcastic jab doesnt represent the gentleness, kindness, and goodness from the Holy Spirit. We must examine our hearts before we communicate words that could bring immediate laughter, but follow later with hurt feelings.

While we cant deny our pain and frustration, we have access to the Holy Spirit who assures us of Gods presence in our lives. Arguments For This Manifestation

What does the Bible say about Happiness | Pastor Rob Singleton | ASK PRO

1.; All of what they say is true per all of the above arguments. However, where they are missing the boat on in their arguments is the angle they are looking at this manifestation from. They are keying off the wrong Scripture verses.

The Bible says that God has made man in His image and likeness. We all know that many of our emotions are the same range of emotions that God has. We all have emotions such as love, joy, and sadness. And within our emotional structure is the ability to laugh.

If God has many of the same emotions we do since He has made all of us in the image and likeness of Himself, then it is only logical to conclude that God can and does laugh Himself. The Bible is full of stories showing the wide range of Gods emotions being expressed, with everything from extreme love, mercy, and kindness to furious anger and wrath.

So if God does have the actual ability to laugh Himself just like we all do the 50 million dollar question is can God manifest His laughter through the Holy Spirit on the inside of us where He is literally laughing through us?

Can He literally transmit His laughter through us as an actual manifestation?

I believe the answer is yes, and here is the verse that proves in my opinion that this laughing manifestation from the Lord can occur in us through the Holy Spirit.

I believe the two words manifest Myself are literal interpretation. I believe this verse is telling us that manifestations from God are possible to receive in this life.
