What Does The Bible Say About Not Worrying

Consider Your Worst Case Scenario

How to stop worrying. Jesus commanded it. His word says not to worry about anything. Instead pray.

So we say with confidence, The Lord is my helper I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me? Hebrews 13:6

Whatever your financial problems, look them in they eye and take the time to consider your worst case scenario. Could it be foreclosure? Perhaps even bankruptcy? Take a deep breath, put your circumstances in the perspective of Heaven, and realize that you have a helper in the Lord. Nothing anyone can do to you will ever change that, and worrying, of course, will never help.

Bible Verses To Help You Combat Anxiety Worry And Stress

There can be so many reasons to be tempted to be anxious, but you have the greatest power in the universe on your side!

Are you looking for Bible verses for anxiety, worry, or stress to help you deal with these things in your life?

Wed like to start by saying that we are aware that an anxiety disorder is different than everyday anxiety and should be treated as such. We do not pretend to be therapists or doctors and we recommend that anyone dealing with an anxiety disorder seek professional help.

However, anxiety can also be the tendency to stress and to worry and to be restless and fearful about things. Have you ever experienced that gnawing feeling in the pit of your stomach? That ugly feeling of seeing a bleak situation before you and just not knowing how its going to turn out? Perhaps that helplessness that often goes along with it?

Stop Worrying About What Others Think And Set Your Mind On Christ

Let your mind refocus, become renewed, and look to Christ to govern your thoughts today.

From an early age we work to get approval, whether it was proving to our parents that we could ride a bike without training wheels, or taking our first stepcaring what other people think seems evitable.

Through the years it can become a problem for us as it can cripple us emotionally and spiritually. We need to get to the point where we dont care what the media says, how colleagues feel about us, or live in state of constant fear or agony of what others think. The other person is not going to worry about it, or stay awake at night upset that youre offended. You cant be responsible for other peoples words, actions, or decisions as hurtful as they can be. We all want to be congratulated for a job well-done from even acquaintances, but what happens when they dont, or you are not acknowledged in some way.

Yes, its painful, but now its time to regroup, refocus, and rise above petty people, things, sin, and caring what others think of you. They dont know your back story, but Christ does. So, where do we begin and do we need to take ownership?

And, why not? They hurt you, and they need to be paid back. Slow down there. Think back on all the times you regretted doing something out of emotion.

Not so good, huh? Let’s take a step back and chill for a moment.

Add your name to a scripture. It can really personalize it and help you grow closer to the Lord.

Without good direction, people lose their way the more wise counsel you follow, the better your chances.

    Proverbs 11:14 MSG

Making decisions is incredibly stressful. Anyone whos worked any kind of job can tell you that. Whether youre trying to make a big decision or a small one , it will always be less stressful when you pull in an appropriate amount of trusted advisors.

I say appropriate amount because its relative to the person making the decision, and the nature of the decision itself. Sometimes having too many people throwing opinions at you can be counterproductive, and even compound your anxiety when you become overloaded with options to consider.

But generally speaking, by bringing more people into your you increase the likelihood that youll make the choice that will be the right one for your life and relationship with God. And this happens when we choose to seek advice from spiritually-minded people who give you biblical input, rather than just practical life advice. Making decisions in a vacuum is very rarely ever a good idea.

I Am a Worrier, What Does The Bible Say About Worrying?

Concern about past misdeeds: Before becoming Christians, some people in the first century were drunkards, extortioners, sexually immoral, and thieves. Rather than dwell on their past, they changed their ways and trusted in Gods great mercy, which he extends willingly. With you there is true forgiveness, so that you may be held in awe, says Psalm 130:4.

Uncertainty about tomorrow: Never be anxious about the next day, said Jesus Christ, for the next day will have its own anxieties. His point? Address todays concerns. Do not compound them by bringing tomorrows forward, which can cloud judgment and lead to rash decisions. Also keep in mind that many anxieties may later prove to be unwarranted.

Money worries: A wise man once prayed: Give me neither poverty nor riches. Instead, he sought contentmenta feeling that merits Gods approval. At Hebrews 13:5, we read: Let your way of life be free of the love of money, while you are content with the present things. For has said: I will never leave you, and I will never abandon you.
