Its imperative that I focus on what God says about me because God is the only One who matters. As I come to accept the truth of how special I am to God, all negative thoughts about myself disappear. I rest secure knowing that I really am loved and accepted by God exactly as he made me to be.

The Meaning Of I Am Who I Am
Those who are Christians probably remember Exodus 3:14 when God told Moses what to tell the children of Israel about who sent him. And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM and He said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.
In the book of John chapter 8:58, Jesus said unto them Before Abraham was, I am.
I am sure most Christians have sometimes wondered where God came from. I too asked myself the same question as a child. But I came to realize that God just is or in His words I AM. So I would not spend a lot of time trying to figure out the origin of God. Just know that He is who He says He is. He will do what He said He will do. He is not a man that He should lie nor a son of man that He should change His mind. Will He speak and not act? Will He promise and not fulfill? .

Was Jesus Testing The Disciples With This Question
Jesus, of course, knew who He was. He didnt need the disciples to tell Him. Being divine, He also already knew what the disciples thought.
Rather, Jesus often asked questions to teach and make people think. He would often answer a question with a question, leading people to find answers. In saying things aloud, they were led to think about situations.
First, Jesus asked the disciples what others said about Him. They responded easily enough, with a slew of speculations. But then He turned the tables. Who do you say I am?vWhat the world thought didnt matter anymore. The mentality of the crowd was irrelevant.
Now, it was time for the disciples to claim Jesus identity for themselves. Simon Peter answered, You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God .
In Mark and Luke, the Bible only records Jesus continuing to speak of His coming death and suffering. However, Matthew 16:17-19 gives a little more insight:
Jesus replied, Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven. And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
What Does This Mean About Who I Am In Christ
God creates us and gives each of us the opportunity to accept his Son Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. Its an open invitation and one Im so glad I accepted as a young girl. I was at a church summer camp and I had recently lost my father. A camp counselor sat on my cot and said I know youve lost your earthly father but would you like a heavenly Father who will never leave or forsake you.
I said absolutely and prayed to ask forgiveness for my sins and for Jesus to come into my heart. I was immediately born again into a new spiritual life for eternity . Forgiven of my sins . I became a new creation in Christ my life was going to change forever . But more relatable to me at the time, I became a friend of Christ and his disciple in sharing the Good News of Jesus with others .
Because of Gods grace and mercy shown to undeserving me, miraculously my heart continues a transformation that reflects the glorious image of the Lord in and through me. So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lordwho is the Spiritmakes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.2 Cor. 3:18 NLT
As a follower of Christ, a Christian, God wants me to fulfill the vital purpose for which he created me. For we are Gods masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

What does the Bible say about God? To know who God says we are, we must first understand who He is. The Prodigal Sons story highlights Gods great love for us alongside the choice to receive it. God doesnt need anything from us. Sovereign and omnipotent, He is all-knowing and in control. John Piper wrote, Nothing is more basic and nothing is more ultimate than the fact that God is. Love, justice, righteousness, forgiveness, and wisdom contribute to His character.
Once we understand who He is, the utterance of His spoken name carries the proper weight of significance. John Piper emphatically stated, Its almost always translated LORD in the English Bible. But the Hebrew would be pronounced something like Yahweh, , or every time you see Lord in the English Bible you should think: This is a proper name built out of the word for I Am and reminding us each time that God absolutely is.

When Did God Say Let There Be Light
The Word of God is everlasting. The Bible was written so we may know Him more intimately and strengthen our relationship with the Father. From the first pages of Genesis, we learn how God worked for seven days, creating as He desired. Some scholars believe Moses wrote the book of Genesis, while others believe there were numerous authors. Either way, the Bible is filled with details of Gods creations. His attention to detail reminds us of Gods love.
The first words of the Bible are found in Genesis 1:1. In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.
We see more details of creation as we continue to read Scripture:
Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, Let there be light, and there was light. As Matthew Henry puts it, In these verses, we have the work of creation in its epitome and in its embryo.
God said, Let there be light, and there was light. on the first day. Notice that light was created before humans. And God saw the light was good: and God separated the light from the darkness. The light was created first. We need the light of Christ to live for Him. Everything God created was good. Sin had not entered the picture yet.
