Bible Verses About Confidence And Self

Confidence is a feeling of certainty. It can be defined in so many ways, and it can mean different things to different people. For some, confidence might mean being able to handle any task without fear of failure. For others, it might be based on the clothes they wear or the car they drive. Confidence is not arrogance or cockiness its simply the belief that you are capable of handling any task that comes your way.

Confidence is a critical aspect of life and key to success. People who are confident tend to be more successful than those who lack confidence. This may be due in part to the fact that people who are confident often take risks, and risk-taking is essential for success. However, many people struggle with confidence issues throughout their lives. This may be due in part to past failures or trauma, or it may be due to an underlying sense of insecurity.

It doesnt matter how smart or talented you are if you dont believe in yourself, no one else will either. And unfortunately, a lot of people struggle with self-confidence issues.

The good news is that there is hope! The Bible has a lot to say about confidence and self-worth, and these verses can help encourage and build us up. So if youre struggling in this area, take heart God wants you to have confidence, and He will help you attain it.

  • Why Should You Feel Worthy

    Self worth comes from God.

Because you are a unique individual with inherent worth and value. No one can take that away from you.

What if you donât feel worthy? Itâs important to understand that feelings of unworthiness are usually based on false beliefs. These beliefs may be the result of messages you received during childhood or from experiences in your life.

You can challenge these false beliefs by recognizing them for what they are and replacing them with more accurate thoughts. For example, if you believe youâre not good enough, ask yourself why you feel that way. Is it because someone told you that in the past? Or is it because you think you have to be perfect to be worthy?

Replace these negative thoughts with positive ones. Remind yourself that you are worthy just as you are. Accept yourself flaws and all. Then give yourself permission to focus on your positive qualities and strengths.

When you start to see yourself in a more positive light, your feelings of unworthiness will begin to fade away. And as you become more accepting of yourself, youâll also find it easier to accept others.

So love yourself today, flaws and all. Recognize that you are a valuable human being who deserves to be happy and healthy. Remember that you matter. You are worth it!

Live Like Someone Valued By God

Worldly self-esteem bases your worth on appearance, possessions, and accomplishments. Whether high or low, this kind of esteem is prideful, focuses on self, and doesnt add value to your life. It minimizes your potential for growth and influence.

On the other hand, self-image based upon the value God has placed on you is Christ-centered and goes far beyond what you can dream or imagine. If you are a believer who wants to be a leader, you must live as someone valued by God.

So, how can you increase your Christ-centered self-image? Look to the apostle Pauls letter to the Ephesians. In it, he gives three reasons you are valuable to God, five truths to know, and five things to do:

God Created Man In His Own Image

As a result of the fall we are all broken. Gods image has been perverted by sin. Through the first Adam the image of God was tarnished. Through the second Adam Jesus Christ believers have been redeemed. Adams disobedience resulted in brokenness. Christs perfection results in restoration. The gospel reveals your value. You are to die for! Christ bore our sins on the cross.

Though we struggle at times due to the effects of the fall. Through Christ we are being renewed daily. We were once a people plagued by that broken image, but through Christ we are being transformed to the perfect image of our Creator. For those struggling with self-esteem we must pray for the Lord to continue to conform us into His image. This takes our focus off of self and puts it on the Lord. We were made for God not the world.

The world says we need this, we need this, we need this. No! We were made for Him, we were made in His image, and we were made for His will. We have a purpose. We are fearfully and wonderfully made! Its amazing that we get to be image bearers of a glorious God! The world teaches that we need to work on ourselves and that is the problem. How can the problem be the solution?

We dont have the answers and all of these man made solutions are temporary, but the Lord is eternal! Its either you create a temporary identity for yourself or you can choose the everlasting identity for yourself that is found and secure in Christ.

Why You Are Valuable To God

    1. You are valuable because of who you are. You are made in Gods image, according to His likeness . A long time ago, even before God created you and before He created this universe, you were the focus of His love. He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love .

    2. You are valuable because of what you cost. As one loved by God, you have also been chosen by God for adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself . This adoption came at a high price, the death of His Son. He made us accepted in the Beloved. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins .

    3. You are valuable because of what you can become. As a person who is loved by God and adopted into His family, you can be sure that God has a plan for your life: In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will, that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory .

The World Has Us Comparing Ourselves To Each Other

This is hurting us. We are not to be like the world. We are to be like Christ. Everyone wants to be like someone. The person who you compare yourself to is comparing himself/herself to someone else. Its meaningless and it will make you weary. Its time to say enough is enough.

When you compare yourself to the world you allow Satan to plant seeds of doubt, insecurity, rejection, loneliness, etc. Nothing in this world will satisfy. Find satisfaction and joy in Christ which remains forever. You cant try to substitute the joy found in Christ. All other joy is only temporary.

    19. Ecclesiastes 4:4 Then I observed that most people are motivated to success because they envy their neighbors. But this, too, is meaninglesslike chasing the wind.

    20. Philippians 4:12-13 I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need. I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.

    21. 2 Corinthians 10:12 We do not dare to classify or compare ourselves with some who commend themselves. When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are not wise.

Summary Of What The Bible Says About Self

The Bible teaches that we are all created in Gods image and therefore have inherent worth and value. We are also loved unconditionally by God, no matter what we have done or where we are in life. The Bible contains many verses about self-worth that can encourage and comfort us. And always remember that you have value and worth, just as you are!

Youre So Loved And Beautiful Beyond Imagination

The world will never comprehend. Even you will never comprehend the great love that God has for you! That is why we must look to Him. You are not in the world for nothing. Your life is not meaningless. Before creation God created you for Himself. He wants you to experience His love, He wants to spend time with you, He wants to tell you the special things of His heart. He never intended for you to look for confidence in yourself.

God says, Im going to be your confidence. It is important on our walk of faith that we get alone with God so we can allow God to work in us and through us. Before the world was created God looked forward to you. He anticipated to have time with you and to reveal Himself to you. He waited in anticipation! The Bible tells us that Gods heart beats faster and faster for you. Christians are the bride of Christ. Christ is the bridegroom. On a bridegrooms wedding night all it takes is one look at his bride and his heart beats faster and faster for the love of his life.

Now imagine the love of Christ! Our love grows dull, but the love of Christ never wavers. Before creation the Lord had many plans for you. He wanted to share His love with you so you would love Him more, He wanted to remove your doubts, your feelings of worthlessness, your feelings of hopelessness, and more. We have to get alone with God!

    8. Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Isaiah : 3 You Shall Be A Crown Of Beauty In The Hand Of The Lord And A Royaldiadem In The Hand Of Your God

Bible Quotes On Self Worth. QuotesGram

Firstly, what is a diadem? This is a jeweled wreath or band worn around the head which represents sovereignty or honor. In the amplified version of the Bible, it reads You shall be so beautiful and thought of as a crown of glory in the hands of the Lord.

Take courage in knowing that this is how God sees us. The chapter continues by saying once you go in the hands of the Lord, it doesnt matter how desolate you were before, that will not be your story anymore, you shall be made new, like a crown of beauty.

Song of Solomon is most often seen as an allegory about the love God has for His people. His love is likened to a young bridegroom and ours for him to a bride.

This book shows how secure the young woman becomes in her lovers affection. We too can rest secure in Gods love for us and in turn feel secure about our identity and self worth.

Hebrew 1: 6 So We Can Confidently Saythe Lord Is My Helper I Will Not Fear what Can Man Do To Me

Isnt it good to know that we serve a true and living God? Isnt it great to know Jesus, who sits at the righteous right hand of God, is always there when we need him the most?

It is the will of God for us to say with confidence In God I put my trust, what can mere mortals do to me? That we will have no fear of sudden disaster because God has our backs.

So regardless of what trials might come, we should remain content in knowing that the Word of God will never fail us.
