They say the definition of insanity is doing the same thing repeatedly while expecting different results.
This next character got one of the most encouraging new beginnings in the Bible.
When the woman caught in adultery was brought to Jesus, he defended her. His defence prevented her from being stoned to death.
But he did not expect her to keep on giving herself to strange men. He told her to walk away from that life and anything related to it.
Jesus straightened up and asked her, Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you? No one, sir, she said. Then neither do I condemn you, Jesus declared. Go now and leave your life of sin.
In another instance, after healing a man crippled for 38 years Jesus says something similar to him.
Later Jesus found him at the temple and said to him, See, you are well again. Stop sinning or something worse may happen to you. John 5:14
Repentance is more than just about being sorry for what you did and the burden you feel from the consequences.
Its also about turning away from the bad things that led you down the path in the first place.
As you start a new journey, make better decisions that you can be proud of. That will bring positive fruits. That God can support.
Engage in behaviors that will grow your faith, finances, relationships, health and career.
What Does The Bible Say About Beginning Again
The Bible says that if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away behold, the new has come .
This means that when we repent and accept Jesus, we are given a new life in Christ. We are no longer bound by our past sins and mistakes.
Instead, we can start fresh, knowing that God loves us and has forgiven us. We can begin again with a new purpose and a new hope.
Psalm 103:12 says, As far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us.
This means that God wipes away our sins completely and forgets them entirely. When we ask for forgiveness, he hears us and forgives us completely. We can start again with a clean slate.

If you are a follower of Jesus, you are a new creation. Your old self is gone and everything becomes new. We formally lived for ourselves in the flesh, but now, we must live for Christ.
All of the old habits, attitudes, values and thinking fade away when receiving Christ. Like a sprout pushing hard against the dirt to come forth, so is our new Spirit.

God caused the worldwide flood leaving only Noah and his family. It took quite some time for the water to subside. But when it finally did dry up enough for them to stand on land, Noah did something special
So Noah came out, together with his sons and his wife and his sons wives. All the animals and all the creatures that move along the ground and all the birdseverything that moves on landcame out of the ark, one kind after another. Then Noah built an altar to the Lord and, taking some of all the clean animals and clean birds, he sacrificed burnt offerings on it.

See, the first thing Noah did was to worship and express gratitude to God. When you look back on all God has done for you, when you think about all of what he saved you from, when you think about his protection, you should set up an alter.

If you look up drawings of Janus, you will notice that there are two faces, each looking to the left and right. It is intended to mean looking back at the past as well as looking forward to the future.
If you are going to start over with God, you need to close the door on the past. Yes, you should look at it. Yes, you should reflect on it.
But no, you should not dwell on it. And you should absolutely not take it with you.
Your past only serves the purpose of motivating you to move forward. Thats it. Someone said you should never waste your time looking back because thats not the direction youre moving towards. They were right.
Your old life is gone and new has come. God says you are new. And thats all you need to know.
What Does The Bible Says About Newness
Paul writes about newness in the Bible with Romans 6:4. These practical words tell us to walk in newness of life through Christ by putting our sin to death in our day-to-day living.
Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. Romans 6:4
The Believers Baptism is a symbol of how we should walk in the newness of life. As we get dunked in water, so are our sins and old self. As we come out of the water, its a metaphor for the resurrection of a new body in Christ.

When God gives you a new beginning, your opportunities will probably not look the same as another persons. It all depends on each season of your life.

Lamentations 3:22-23 ESV The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases his mercies never come to an end they are new every morning great is your faithfulness.
To lament is to cry out in grief. The prophet Jeremiah was lamenting the great sins of Jerusalem. But in the above verse, he finds a ray of hope during his deep sorrow.
I love this verse and praise God for it every morning. There is no sin that He will not forgive His love is greater. His mercies are new Every. Single. Morning. He doesnt tire of us coming to say Forgive me! I screwed up again! Who else but God loves like this??
Reflection: Gods mercy is described as His enduring, forever love for us. At the center of His mercy lies His forgiveness.
