God Disciplines You To Help You Learn Because He Loves You

Is It Biblical to Say That God Loves Everyone?

My child, dont reject the LORDs discipline, and dont be upset when He corrects you. For the LORD corrects those He loves, just as a father corrects a child in whom He delights.

Though people often associate discipline with punishment, this verse shows us that Gods discipline is more about training and teaching. That is why Jesus followers were called disciples, or people who follow a teacher.

When you follow Jesus, you become His disciple. In the process of learning from Jesus, some lessons will be hard or even feel like punishment. But God is not out to punish you or hurt you. He is trying to teach you. Your choices have consequences, and God usually allows you to experience those consequences. Facing hard things and overcoming them is one of the best ways to learn.

Dont let yourself get dragged down by hardships or isolate yourself from God and others. Instead, turn to God for help and discover what He is teaching you in the process.

What Is Christian Love For One Another

Believers should have a deep love for others. Evidence that you have been born again is that you have a deep love for your brothers and sisters in Christ. Ive met people who claimed to be Christian but they had no love for others. They were mean, rude, ungodly in speech, stingy, etc. When a person bears bad fruit that is evidence of an unregenerate heart.

When a person is a new creation through repentance and faith in Christ alone you will see a change of heart. You will see a person who desires to love how Christ loved. Sometimes it is a struggle, but as believers we seek to love Christ more and when you love Christ more it leads to loving others more.

God gets glory by our love for our brothers and sisters. Always remember that the world takes notice. It should be evident that Gods love is within you, not only by how you act inside the church but also how you act outside the church.

1. 1 John 3:10 By this the children of God and the children of the devil can be distinguished: Anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is anyone who does not love his brother.

2. 1 John 4:7-8 Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.

3. 1 John 4:16 And we have come to know and believe the love that God has for us. God is love whoever abides in love abides in God, and God in him.

Hi Mark,Thank you for reading and commenting. Your question is a good one. It appears, since God is love , that any lack of love we might experience may be because we are not close enough to Him. As we allow the Holy Spirit to fill and guide us, we become a conduit for His lovethe more fully we are submitted to Him, the more easily His love can flow. I hope this helps and encourages you, and others, to seek Gods presence even more. God bless you.Yours in Christ,

Open Rebuke Is Better Than Secret Love

Love is bold and honest. Love encourages, love compliments, love is kind, but we must never forget that love will rebuke. Love is going to call others to repentance. Love proclaims the full extent of the gospel and does not sugarcoat. It is unbearable when someone proclaims repentance and I hear someone say, only God can judge. Why are you filled with hate? What they are actually saying is allow me to sin in peace. Allow to me to go to hell. Tough love says what needs to be said.

I preach on what the Bible says about smoking weed, adultery, drunkenness, sex outside of marriage, homosexuality, etc. not because I hate but because I love. If youre a doctor and you find out that someone has cancer are you not going to tell them out of fear? If a doctor knowingly knows about a patients serious condition and he doesnt tell them, then he is wicked, he is going to lose his license, he is going to be fired, and he should be thrown in jail.

As believers who claim to love others how can we look at dead men who will spend eternity in hell and not preach to them the gospel? Our love should lead us to witness because we dont want to see our friends, family members, and others go to hell. Many people might hate you for trying to save their life but who cares? There is a reason that Jesus said that you will be persecuted.

24. Proverbs 27:5-6 Better is open rebuke than hidden love. Wounds from a friend can be trusted, but an enemy multiplies kisses.

Jesus Love Is An Example Of What It Means To Sacrifice And Serve Others Out Of Love

Jesus knew that the Father had given Him authority over everything and that He had come from God and would return to God. So He got up from the table, took off His robe, wrapped a towel around His waist, and poured water into a basin. Then He began to wash the disciples feet, drying them with the towel He had around Him. … So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other.

On His last night with His disciples before He was crucified, Jesus emphasized loving others. He demonstrated what loving others looks like by washing His disciples feet.

Washing someones dirty feet may seem like a gross enough task today, but during that day, people wore sandals and walked most places. So their feet were much, much dirtier. Washing feet was usually the job of a lowly servant.

Later, one of Jesus final commands to His disciples was to love each other as He had loved them.

This passage begins by telling us Jesus knew He had all of Gods authority and power and would soon return to God in heaven. But He showed His disciples He loved them by stepping down from His position of power to take on the role of a lowly servant.

Loving others often requires being willing to step down from your position of power and serve.

Does Gods Love Equal Approval

God does NOT love everyone, nor did Christ die for everyone! Particular Redemption

This is a question that can cause confusion in many peoples mind. You know God loves everyone, but does that mean that God approves of everything we do?

The answer is no.

There is something God hates and that is sin. You have probably heard the expression hate the sin but love the sinner. That is true of God. However, God loving the sinner does not mean God will not judge the sin. Sin still requires judgment.

Eventually all sin will be judged, but here is where you see Gods love on display. God poured out the judgment for sin on Jesus at the cross so the requirement of judgment has been met. He did this out of love so that you would not have to pay the ultimate price for your sin, which is eternal separation from God.

The question that remains is will you receive Gods payment for sin or will you pay the price yourself? In Gods great love he desires that you choose his method of payment. Gods lack of approval or judgment does not mean he doesnt love you, quite the contrary. Because he loves you and hates sin, he will do everything he can to try to turn you from sin. Ultimately however the choice is yours.

The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance .

God Loved You Enough To Die For You When You Were Still Rebelling Against Him

But God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.

No matter how much you have messed up or how far you feel from God, He still loves you and wants a relationship with you.

Parents love their children, no matter how the children behave. If a child says, I hate you! it hurts. But loving parents will still love their children even when they say hurtful things or rebel. Even when you were still rebelling against God and saying, I hate you, He replied I love you by choosing to die for you so that He could have a relationship with you forever.

You do not need to change or reach a better place before you come to God. He will help you change and get to a better place. All you need to do is accept His sacrifice and say yes to being in a relationship with God.

Gods Particular Effective Selecting Love Toward His Elect People

The elect may be the entire nation of Israel or the church as a body or individuals. In each case, God sets his affection on his chosen ones in a way he doesnt set his affection on others.

The striking thing about passages like Deuteronomy 7:78 is when Israel is contrasted with other nations, the distinguishing feature includes nothing of personal or national merit its nothing other than the love of God. Gods love is directed toward Israel in a way its not directed toward other nations.

The fourth way of speaking of Gods love is unlike the previous three. And this discriminating feature of Gods love surfaces frequently. I have loved Jacob, but Esau I have hated, God declares . Allow all the room you like for the Semitic nature of this contrast, observing the absolute form can be a way of articulating absolute preference, and yet Gods love in such passages is peculiarly directed toward the elect.

Similarly, in the New Testament we read Christ loved the church . Repeatedly the New Testament tells us that Gods love is directed toward those who constitute the church.

Bible Verses About Loving Our Enemies

God

While Jesus was on the cross. Moments before His final breath. He looked up to His father and said: “forgive them because they didn’t know what they are doing.”

Now, that’s love. And that is what Jesus expects of us. On the day of Jesus’ death, His enemies found satisfaction in His demise. But He forgave and loved them. Christ is our example, and we ought to follow and do the same as He did.

So here are a few challenging Bible verses about loving your enemies to keep you calmed.

Matthew 5:44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.

1Peter 3:9 Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.

Romans 12:17-21 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. ‘ If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for Gods wrath, for it is written: It is mine to avenge I will repay, says the Lord. On the contrary: ‘If your enemy is hungry, feed him if he is thirsty, give him something to drink In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.’ Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Luke 6:27-28 But to you who are listening, I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you. Bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.

God’s Love Is Based On Our Deeds/god’s Love Is Based Upon His Character Proven By His Deeds

Note this passage: “O ye who believe! if any from among youturn back from his faith soon will Allah produce a people whom He willlove as they will love Him lowly with the believers mighty against therejecters fighting in the way of Allah and never afraid of the reproachesof such as find fault” .

This is an important difference from Jesus Christ who said, “Loveone another as I have loved you.” Note the contrast, in the QuranGod’s love is bestowed as we love Him, in Christ, God’s love is bestowedand He is our standard instead of the other way around. Jesus noted thatthis command was a new command. The previous Old Testament standard wasthis: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” I.E., the standardis man. In Christ the standard is God Himself in Christ, “as Ihave loved you.” God’s demonstration of his love is clear, JesusChrist died on the cross for our sins. In the Quranthere is no demonstration of God’s love, by God, for God’s people. Instead, man must show his love for God by his own deeds.

Obedience vs. Relationship

Consequently, God’s PeopleImitate God’s Love

Throughout the Quran as people obey God, God,in turn, loves them. To the sinner God may be merciful and kind, but theQuran does not speak of loving Him. On the contrary, God’s thoughts towardthe person who does not obey Him are as told in 3:178

“Let not the Unbelievers think that our respite to them is goodfor themselves: We grant them respite that they may grow in their iniquity:but they will have a shameful punishment.”
