Here Are A Couple More Things That Can Cause Discouragement

Bible Verses About Encouragement

Discouragement can be caused by the words of others. When doing Gods will Satan is going to bring opposition especially when you are down. In my life Gods will resulted in people telling me to go into a different direction, people mocking me, making fun of me, etc.

It made me doubt and get discouraged. Dont trust in the words of others trust in the Lord. Allow Him to lead. Listen to Him. Discouragement can also occur when we compare ourselves with others. Be careful. Allow the Lord to be your focus.

22. Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Bible Verses About Encouragement

Encouraging Bible Quotes. QuotesGram

Dexter is a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ who finds joy in helping others succeed.

But Joshua the son of Nun, which standeth before thee, he shall go in thither: encourage him: for he shall cause Israel to inherit it.”Deuteronomy 1-38.

In the First Century , Israel was in turmoil. The Romans ruled with an iron fist, and anyone who opposed Roman values paid a brutal price.

The cries of the day were for peace, justice, and mercy. But deception, hatred, and cruelty were the order of the day.

The disciples had a job to do spread the good news of peace, encouragement, and hope, but that Ancient Roman fortress of cruelty, hatred, and injustice stood in their path. How will they get past it, and more importantly, who will they look to for encouragement, given that Jesus is about to die?

Jesus, being omniscient, knew that something had to give, his disciples were already sorrowful, and unless they had something or someone to hold on to, they would faint at the cruel trials that awaited them.

The disciples’ grief was evident, Christ’s death was nigh. What next? As every good teacher would, He left them with these final words of encouragement “abide in me, I will send another comforter.”

Those simple words from Jesus inspired His followers, and they believed. Joy, excitement, and a great sense of purpose filled their hearts. They were now ready to confront fiery trials, demons, and anything that life would throw at them.

You Are Worth More Than Many Sparrows

âAre not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Donât be afraid you are worth more than many sparrows.â

Sparrowsâ lives were of so little value that each was worth less than a penny. In fact, the parallel passage from Matthewâs gospel tells us that two were sold for a penny, and so Luke is revealing here that if you purchased four, one was thrown in for free. But God knows every single sparrow, no matter how little value they hold to humans.

And you are worth more than many of them.

God knows you better than you know yourself . And while that might seem like a trivial piece of information, the point Jesus is making is this: God knows you so well that no one can harm a hair on your head without him knowing. You are so valuable to the God who created you that he has taken the time to become intimately familiar with every detail about you.

He Is Able To Help Those Who Are Being Tempted

âBecause he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.â

Jesus was fully human and fully God. We often focus on the physicality of Jesusâ human nature. He slept . He wept . He ate . But itâs easy to forget that Jesus was also tempted to sin. While Jesus was the only perfect human, he was âfully human in every wayâ , and he was âtempted in every way, just as we areâ .Jesus never did sin, but because he was tempted, and he understands our weakness , he can help us when weâre struggling.

in all your ways submit to him,

It can be discouraging when you donât understand why something happened to you or someone you care about. The Bible doesnât explain everything, but it does tell us what to do when we donât understand something: trust. Not everything makes sense. And even when we think something does, we can misunderstand whatâs really going on because our own understanding is human and fallible.
