What Does The Bible Say About Prayers Being Answered

Prayers That God Answers

Do This ONE Thing To Get More of Your Prayers Answered!

There are some prayers that God will always answer. If we pray for God to be glorified through us He will be sure to answer that prayer and reveal His glory. If we pray for forgiveness, He will hear us and readily forgive us. Whenever we pray and ask God to reveal more of Himself to us, He will do so. If we pray to God to ask for wisdom, He will generously grant that to us. If we ask Him to give us the strength to live obediently, He will do so. If we pray and ask God to spread His gospel to those that are lost, He will do so. This should be so exciting to use. We have been given a beautiful privilege to commune with God and offer up petitions that He will always answer. When we grasp the significance of this, then we realize how intimate and extraordinary that this opportunity to pray truly is.

4)Habakkuk 2:14 The earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.

5)1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

6)Jeremiah 31:33-34 I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people. And no longer shall each one teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, Know the Lord, for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the Lord.

Forgiveness Is The Key To Answered Prayers It Is The Foundation Of Your Relationship With God

Prayer is one way in which we connect with God, and talk to him about whats happening in our lives. Our hurts and worries, our concerns and joys, our hopes and dreams: God wants to hear it all. He loves to hear it all. And when we are forgiven in Christ, we are assured that He not only hears, but will answer our prayers.

But heres the thing, Beloved: once we receive this powerful gift of forgiveness, it is imperative that we share this same forgiveness with others.

CS Lewis said, To be a Christian means to forgive the inexcusable, because God has forgiven the inexcusable in you.

Are there some people in your life that you need to extend forgiveness to? The Bible teaches that when we withhold forgiveness from others, we are actually hurting ourselves and hindering God from answering our prayers:

Jesus always links prayer with forgiveness, because forgiveness breaks the power of resentment, retaliation, and bitterness that can so easily dominate our hearts when we dont forgive.

Roberto Assagoli wrote, Without forgiveness, life is governed by an endless cycle of resentment and retaliation.

When you forgive the inexcusable that someone has done to youbecause God has also forgiven the inexcusable in youyou free yourself up to come to God knowing that your prayers are heard, and will be answered. Why? Because you are able to unite your heart with Gods in prayer, not allowing your sins to separate you from Him any further.

I Love Jehovah Because He Hears My Voice

Those are the words of the writer of one of the psalms in the Bible. He was sure that God heard his prayers, and that fact had a powerful effect on him. He felt closer to God and found the strength to deal with lifes distress and grief.Psalm 116:1-9.

When we are sure that God hears our prayers, we will persevere in talking to him. Consider the experience of Pedro, who lives in northern Spain. He lost his 19-year-old son in a traffic accident. In his sorrow, Pedro poured out his heart to God and prayed repeatedly for comfort and support. What happened? Jehovah answered my prayers through the comfort and support that my wife and I received from fellow Christians, says Pedro.

Answers to our prayers often come through the comfort and support of caring friends

While prayers did not bring his son back to life, they did help Pedro and his family in important ways. His wife, María Carmen, recalls: Prayers helped me to endure my grief. I knew that Jehovah God understood me because when I prayed to him, I felt at peace and a calm came over me.

The Bible and personal experiences clearly show that God does hear prayers. Yet, it is also apparent that God does not answer all prayers. Why does God answer some prayers and not others?

What Did Jesus Say About Prayer

Jesus spent a lot of time talking about prayer. He encouraged his followers to pray. He taught them how to pray. He told them parables about prayer.

Jesus most concentrated teaching on prayer is found in Matthew 6:5-15. The first thing Jesus says is that we must not pray to impress other people we pray to God.

He goes on to warn us against using empty words when we pray. God loves us and wants us to love him. We dont use empty words when we talk to someone we love, and who loves us, so we dont use empty words when we talk to God.

Jesus follows this warning by introducing the Lords Prayer . The Lords prayer must be the most repeated prayer in the Christian world. Yet it is so familiar that its easy to say the words without thinking about them. The Lords Prayer can easily become the empty words that Jesus told us to avoid.

I think the first half of the Lords Prayer is one of the most important, and neglected, of Jesus teachings. Here is what he says he wants us to pray to our loving Father:

    • May your name be held in honor and deeply respected. .
    • May your kingdom come.
    • May your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

The rest of the Lords Prayer is concerned with our personal needs. Jesus places Gods agenda before our agenda.

Some more teachings of Jesus about prayer:

Jesus told his followers to pray for those who gave them a hard time:

I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be children of your Father in heaven.

    Scripture About Answered Prayer

After all, the Bible doesnt include just one Scripture about answered prayer. It has several Bible verses that assure us: God answers prayers!

Take a look at these Bible verses about answered prayer, for example:

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

    • 1 John 3:22

And whatever we ask we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do what pleases him.

    • 1 John 5:14-15

And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.

    • John 15:7

If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.

    • John 14:13-14

Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.

These Bible verses about answered prayer assure that God hears our prayers, God answers our prayers He is truly a God who answers prayer.

So why doesnt God answer prayers? Why do these Scriptures about answered prayer not ring true in our lives? Why are we left wondering, Does prayer work?Does God hear our prayers? and Why doesnt God answer my prayers when I ask?

Why do we still have so many unanswered prayers?

    How Does Prayer Work

How to Pray Powerful Prayers That Move God ( PRAYERS THAT GET ANSWERED )

Its easy to think that we have to pray a certain way for God to hear us, and that if we pray well enough He will be sure to answer our prayer. But there is no support for that in the Bible. And frankly, that is turning something beautiful like praying to God into merely a pagan spell.

God invites us to pray to Him. God created us and He chose to save us. Our Lord delights in us and sustains us. Praying to Him should be the most natural thing we do. Prayer is simply, talking to God. It doesnt require a ritual, a specific pattern of phrasing, nor does it require that you stand in a specific position. God asks us to cast all of our cares upon Him, for He loves us. Check out prayer for strength quotes.

1)Luke 11:9-10 Ask, and it will be given to you seek, and you will find knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.

2)1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you.

Why Are Some Prayers Not Answered

Sometimes our prayers are not answered. The Bible gives several reasons or causes for failure in prayer:

Sometimes our prayers are refused. Prayer must be in accord with God’s divine will:

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.

Reasons God Won’t Answer Your Prayers

Have you ever wondered why your prayers arent being answered?

Have you ever wondered if God really hears your prayers?

Have you ever wondered what the scriptures say about your prayers being unanswered?

Here are seven reasons God wont answer your prayers.

First, doubt and do without. . .the effects of unbelief.

Matthew 13:58 in the Amplified Bible says:

And He did not do many works of power there, because of their unbelief .

If we ever doubt that God is a miracle working God. . .then we will live our lives without manifesting the power and promises of God.

Luke 17:19 in the Amplified Bible says:

And He said to him, Get up and go on your way. Your faith has restored you to health.

Our faith. . .our confidence in the Word. . .brings miracle manifestation into our lives. But if we doubt. . .we will do without.

Second, having ought will keep God from hearing your prayers.

And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him and let it drop , in order that your Father Who is in heaven may also forgive you your failings and shortcomings and let them drop..

This verse is not conditional . . .its not based on whether or not a person deserves forgiveness. It doesnt matter how badly a person hurt, embarrassed or offended us. . .we must forgive. . .leave the offense in the rearview mirror and let it go.

Matthew 5:23-24 in the Amplified Bible says:

    Psalm 66:18 says:

If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me.

    Galatians 5:17

    Reasons For Unanswered Prayers

There are times that God chooses not to answer prayers. He will not answer the prayer of the unregenerate sinner. There are even times when He will not hear the prayers of those who are saved: for example, He will not hear us when we pray with the wrong motives or when we are living in unrepentant sin. This is because at that time, we are not praying according to His will.

    23) Isaiah 1:15 So when you spread out your hands in prayer, I will hide My eyes from you Yes, even though you multiply prayers, I will not listen Your hands are covered with blood.

24)James 4:3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures.

25)Psalm 66:18 If I regard wickedness in my heart, The Lord will not hear.

26)1 Peter 3:12 FOR THE EYES OF THE LORD ARE TOWARD THE RIGHTEOUS, AND HIS EARS ATTEND TO THEIR PRAYER, BUT THE FACE OF THE LORD IS AGAINST THOSE WHO DO EVIL.

    Thanking God For Answered Prayers

    10 Reasons Your Prayers Aren

One of the most frequent prayers we should pray is a prayer of thanksgiving. We should be grateful for all the prayers that God answers: not just the ones that He answered with a yes. The Lord God has bestowed such mercy upon us. Every breath that we take in should be released with a prayer of thankfulness and adoration to Him.

    27) 1 Thessalonians 5:18 in everything give thanks for this is Gods will for you in Christ Jesus.

28)Psalm 118:21 I shall give thanks to You, for You have answered me, And You have become my salvation.

Your enemies fall before you. 4 All the earth worships you. They sing praises to you. They sing praises to your name. 5 Come and see what God has done. See what amazing things he has done for people.

    31) 1 Chronicles 16:8-9 Give thanks to the LORD and proclaim his greatness. Let the whole world know what he has done. Sing to him yes, sing his praises. Tell everyone about his miracles.

    32) Psalm 66:17 I cried out to Him with my mouth, and His praise was on my tongue.

Forgiveness The Key To Answered Prayers

Have you ever wondered if God is listening to your prayers? Or maybe you believe that God hears everyones prayers, but you arent sure if He cares enough to answer them or not?

What would change in your prayer life if you knew, for a fact, that God heard your prayers?

As a pastor for more than 30 years, Ive heard the gamut of prayer ideologies, what people believe about prayer, and how they believe God answers prayer. Theres so much to be said on the subject, but Id like to focus today on three areas of prayer, and hopefully answer some of the most often asked questions on the subject:

    • How do you know if God hears your prayers?
    • Why does God answeror not answerour prayers?
    • What does forgiveness have to do with answered prayers?

The Bible tells us that God not only hears our prayers, but that He also loves to answer our prayers. Heres what God told the prophet Isaiah about prayer:

Before they call I will answer while they are yet speaking I will hear.

To the prophet Jeremiah, God said,

Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.
