What Does The Bible Say About Homosexuality
Homosexuality is an abominable act condemned by God. During the early days, the Bible made mention of a man, , in the city of Sodom and Gomorrah.
He was a righteous man living among wicked men who had no value for Gods purpose. Therefore, God sent his angels to save him from the city.
During the visit of the Angels, the men requested a sexual relationship with the Angels.
Before they had gone to bed, all the men from every part of the city of Sodomboth young and oldsurrounded the house. They called to Lot, Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us so that we can have sex with them. Genesis 19: 4, 5
They were so wicked and shameful that they rejected Lots daughters, who were virgins.
Look, I have two daughters who have never slept with a man. Let me bring them out to you, and you can do what you like with them. But dont do anything to these men, for they have come under the protection of my roof. Genesis 19:8
But they refused, insisting on having a gay relationship with Angels. Because they were wicked and despicable, God sent down fire and brimstone from heaven that consumed them all.
As Christians, all forms of sexual immorality are abominable in the sight of God. Adultery, fornication, intense lust, and homosexuality are shameful crimes in Gods sight.
Leviticus : 13 On Death Punishment For Homosexuality
If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination they shall surely be put to death their blood is upon them.
After God delivered the Israelites from the hands of Pharaoh, God created many laws for them to live according to his will.
One of those laws was severe punishment if any man or woman committed the sin of homosexuality. If you are Gay, you shall die.
So, why dont gay men and women die from their sin?
Gods commandment to the Jews in the book of Leviticus instructed death for anyone involved in homosexuality. However, this is not applicable today.
This is because we have been set free from the law of Moses through Christs death. Christs death put away the curse of the law, and we are set free in liberty.
The law is not based on faith on the contrary, it says, The person who does these things will live by them.Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole. Galatians 3: 12, 13.
However, this does not mean we can live in sin. Instead, we must live in ways that please God. If we indulge in homosexuality that does not bring praise to the body of Christ, we fall from his grace of eternal life.

Why God And The Gay Christian Is Wrong About The Bible And Same
In March 2012, Matthew Vines posted a video on YouTube suggesting that “being gay is not a sin,” and that the Bible “does not condemn, loving, committed same-sex relationships.” He spoke eloquently from the heart with poise, conviction and vulnerability. The video quickly went viral.
Vines is a bright young man raised in a Christian home. At age 19, he left Harvard University after his third semester so that he could come out to his family and friends in Wichita. He knew that his father would not agree with the way he reconciled his sexuality with Scripture. So Vines sought to arm himself with biblical scholarship on the affirmation of same-sex relationships and strove to convince his family and church that they were wrongthat homosexuality is not a sin.
Vines’s new book, God and the Gay Christian: The Biblical Case in Support of Same-Sex Relationships, expounds further on the arguments made in his video. His aim is not to present new information, but to synthesize gay-affirming arguments and make them accessible for a broader and younger audience. Vines does a good job fulfilling this goal. Unfortunately, his book consists of some logical and exegetical fallacies, and it does not address the shortcomings of the authors to whom it is most indebted. And although Vines professes a “high view” of the Bible, he ultimately fails to apply uncomfortable biblical truths in a way that embraces a costly discipleship.

Homosexuality: One Parishioner’s Perspective
Some Christians say that The Bible makes it clear that homosexuality is an abomination to God. As a Christian, I have to admit that until recently I had never thoroughly explored the Biblical position on homosexuality. I decided to review the topic of homosexuality in The Bible in order to get a better perspective on why some Christians find homosexuality so troubling. In my review, I found that the word homosexual does not appear in the Bible. The word homosexual first was used in the English language during the eighteenth century.
There are numerous descriptions in The Bible of what we now call LGBT behavior. These descriptions occur both in the Old and New Testaments. A surface reading of these passages would suggest to the casual reader that the Bible does in fact condemn such behavior. However, when these passages are read in context, it is clear that all negative connotations about these persons are always secondary to a more primary message.For example, Christians who feel that people of the LGBT persuasion are sinners, typically quote from the Old Testament book of Leviticus at 18.22: You shall not lie with a male as with a woman it is an abomination. On the surface, this verse seems pretty straightforward. However, if we are to have a full understanding of the verse, we must know the context in which the verse is written. The full context of Leviticus paints an entirely different picture of what this verse is intended to mean.

Does The Bible Promote Prejudice
Still, some people would say that the Bible promotes prejudice against homosexuals and that those who adhere to its moral code are intolerant. The Bible was written at a time when people were narrow-minded, they claim. Today we accept people of all races, nationalities, and sexual preferences. To them, rejecting homosexuality is the same as rejecting people of a different skin color. Is that comparison valid? No. Why not?
Because there is a difference between rejecting homosexual conduct and rejecting homosexual people. The Bible tells Christians to be respectful of all kinds of people. But that does not mean that Christians must accept all kinds of conduct.
Consider a comparison: Suppose you view smoking as harmful and even repugnant. What if you have a workmate who is a smoker? Would you be considered narrow-minded just because your view of smoking differs from his? Would the fact that he smokes and you do not smoke automatically mean that you are prejudiced against him? If your workmate were to demand that you change your view of smoking, would that not make him narrow-minded and intolerant?
Jehovahs Witnesses choose to live by the moral code set forth in the Bible. They do not approve of the actions that the Bible prohibits. But they neither mock nor mistreat people whose practices differ from their own.

Romans 1:23 spoke in general of the exchange of Gods glory for figments of human imagining. Verse 25 identifies same-sex practice as a specific example of what happens when Gods truth is exchanged for a lie and when veneration of the creature substitutes for worship of the Creator. So great is Pauls regard for God that he segues here into the first of five doxological exclamations in Romans.2Paul models intuitive and spontaneous praise to God for the excellence and nobility of his good gift of human sexuality!

Corinthians : 911 1 Timothy : 811
Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? 1 Timothy 1:8â11 states:

In the letter to the Corinthians, within the list of people who will not inherit the kingdom of God, Paul uses two Greek words: malakia and arsenokoitai .
Some scholars consider that the term was not used to refer to a homosexual orientation, but argue that it referred instead to sexual activity.
Lusts And Sexual Immorality
Our sex drive is not a sin. But sexual desires outside marriage between a man and a woman are what the Bible calls lusts, and giving in to them is sin. This includes premarital sex, extramarital sex, giving in to impure sexual thoughts, and practicing homosexuality. This is described in both the Old and the New Covenants. Some of these verses are listed at the end of this article.

The Bible And Homosexuality
There are a number of passages in the Hebrew Bible and the New Testament that have been interpreted as involving same-sex sexual acts, desires, and relationships. The passages about homosexual individuals and sexual relations in the Hebrew Bible are found primarily in the Torah . Some texts included in the New Testament also reference homosexual individuals and sexual relations, such as the Gospel of Matthew, the Gospel of Luke, and various lettersattributed to the Apostle Paul originally directed to the early Christian churches in Asia Minor. Both references in the Hebrew Bible and the New Testament have been interpreted as referring primarily to male homosexual individuals and sexual practices.
Innate Awareness Of Evil
People have an innate awareness that evil of the breadth and scale described in verses 2831 deserves Gods punishment. This means not just a slap on the wrist but the full wages of sin banishment from Gods presence and the eternal punishment that accompanies it. Paul describes this explicitly elsewhere: They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might . The human condition as described here is perilous in the extreme.
But as bad as it is for those who practice such things, it is even worse for those who give approval to those who practice them. It is one thing to condemn oneself. But in a religion whose second great commandment is to love others, to give approval and thereby encouragement to others in their lawlessness is the ultimate in loveless treachery. Elsewhere Scripture teaches, Whoever brings back a sinner from his wandering will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins . Paul describes the opposite situation: sinners condoning others abominable, self-destructive behavior, thereby ginning up mans rush into the multitude of sins that Romans 1:2831 has surveyed.
Little wonder, then, that this section began with the warning that the wrath of God is revealed from heaven . Gods response is the inexorable consequence of human bad decisions and behavior.

Has ‘homosexual’ Always Been In The Bible

You have been part of a research team that is seeking to understand how the decision was made to put the word homosexual in the bible. Is that true?
What Does The Bible Teach About Same
The Bible defines marriage in Genesis 2:24 as a union between one man and one woman. Jesus Christ upholds this definition of marriage in Matthew 19:5, as does the Apostle Paul in Ephesians 5:31. Any and all sexual activity which takes place outside of this context is treated as sinful, what Jesus calls sexual immorality in Mark 7:21.
Further to this, same-sex practice is specifically highlighted as sinful a number of times in Scripture. In Gods Law, for example, condemnations of same-sex practice are given in Leviticus 18:22 and 20:13. Further references are made in the New Testament. For example, in Romans 1:24-32, amid echoes to the Genesis creation account, both male and female same-sex practice are treated as sinful. Further references to the sinfulness of same-sex practice can be seen in 1 Corinthians 6:9 and 1 Timothy 1:10.
The Scriptures are, therefore, consistent in their prohibition of same-sex sexual activity, across different periods of salvation history and within different cultural settings. Although the Scriptures are clear on sexual ethics, they also tell us that the prospect of forgiveness and eternal life is held out for anyone who turns from sin and puts their faith in Christ , no matter how they may have fallen short of his good design for sex and marriage.

The debate over gay marriage is not just taking place in the nations courts it is also a subject of intense discussion in the nations churches.
Matthew Vines, an openly gay, evangelical Christian and the author of God and the Gay Christian: The Biblical Case in Support of Same-Sex Relationships, has been actively encouraging conservative Christians to re-evaluate their beliefs about homosexuality. He has engaged them in private conversations, in public talks and through the organization he founded, the Reformation Project.
He was recently invited by the Rev. Caleb Kaltenbach, lead pastor of Discovery Church in Simi Valley, Calif,, to talk privately with a small group of evangelical leaders to discuss what the Bible says about gay relationships. Mr. Kaltenbach is the author of the forthcoming book Messy Grace, which is about how he reconciles his conservative Christian convictions with his experience as the child of gay parents.
After the session, they were each asked to interpret some of the most cited verses relating to homosexuality in the Bible.

There is no need to pretend.
Ive always disliked the act of homosexuality.
That does not mean I hate gays or those that seem to promote the idea.
Of course, I have no right to do so, considering Gods commandment of love.
And also, because I have no reason to judge another .
There are several misinterpretations of the scriptures to suit the idea that being gay is ideal.
Studies show increasing support for gay rights in the United States- including allowing marriage and even the opportunity to adopt children.
It still does not make sense.
God created man in the beginning.
And he made no mistake creating a woman as a helpmate.
And filled with Gods spirit, Adam, not ever heard or witness a marriage at that time, said,
That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.
Indeed, from the beginning, Gods intention for humans was clear.
God dislikes homosexuality.

Manny Pacquiao Posts Bible Verse That States Gay People Should Be Killed

Manny Pacquiao is not backing down from his stance against homosexuality.
Less than a day after the Filipino boxer and politician lost his sponsorship deal with Nike because he compared gay people to animals, Pacquiao took to Instagram early Thursday morning and posted some Bible verses that support his views.
One of them, Leviticus 20:13, states in no uncertain terms that homosexuals should be killed:
If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death their blood will be on their own heads.
Pacquiaos post was up for about two hours and got more than 18,000 likes before being deleted. The Filipino news agency ABS-CBN captured a screenshot of the post before it was removed.
Pacquiao, a member of the Philippines House of Representatives, included other Bible verses in his post, including Luke 6:22-23, an apparent reference to his current situation:
Blessed are you when people hate you, when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Man. Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, because great is your reward in heaven. For that is how their ancestors treated the prophets.
Its common sense. Will you see any animals where male is to male and female is to female? Pacquiao answered.
