What Does God Say About Introverts

4 Reasons God Is Allowing You to Feel Lonely in Singleness

Blessed are the introverts, Matthew says, for they shall inherit the land. Only people who have moved themselves from dependent to independent, from pitying themselves to helping others, from weak introverts to strong introverts will ever be able to manage and maintain the land they will inherit.

Singleness: What The Bible Says About Being Single

Rev. Margaret Minnicks is an ordained Bible teacher. She writes many articles that are Bible lessons.

The Bible has some things to say about singleness. If you want to know what those things are, then you should search the scriptures because the Bible gives some important teachings about being single as well as about being married.

What Does Loneliness In The Bible Tell Us About Ourselves

Loneliness is a common struggle. For many, the battle with loneliness draws them closer to God. In fact, drawing closer to God is one of the ways that we battle loneliness. Research says that people who read the Bible four times or more a week are thirty percent less likely to struggle with loneliness.

We are created for connection. Men and women are created in the image of God. What do we know about God? We know that relationship is a defining characteristic of God. As Christians, we worship the three in one: Father, Son, and Spirit. As creatures created in Gods image, it is therefore natural that we need to connect with others.

Of course, our most crucial connection comes from our relationship with God. We want to be fully known and loved. We might struggle to find love, acceptance, and connection with other people, but it is always there for us with Jesus.

Song Of Songs: : 7/ : 5/ : 4

Daughters of Jerusalem, I charge you by the gazelles and by the does of the field: Do not arouse or awaken love until it so desires.

Now we all know that whenever something is repeated in the Bible it should be paid special attention to. This verse is repeated 3 times throughout the book of Song of Songs.

As women, our emotions sometimes overpower our logic and reasoning. Unfortunately, these same emotions can be misleading or even vanish after a while.

As a single Christian woman, you should make sure that you are not guided by infatuation but love. And even more, so that you dont hurry into a romantic relationship, without the commitment necessary to make it last.

Make sure you understand the nature of a woman and what makes us different from men. A good way is by looking for bible verses about women and understanding your identity in Christ.

Final Words On Loneliness

Verses For When You Are Lonely

There are those who will constantly reject companionship because they were let down by others or because of a bad attitude. The best we can do for these people as Christians is to model the consistent and practical mercy of God by being available, by showing kindness without flattery, and by flinging the doors of the church wide open.

A church should provide a welcoming break from isolation for anyone, seeker or saved. Whether born-again or not, we can pray for lonely individuals to meet with God who is all-sufficient to meet their emotional needs in Christ.

Why Does God Want Me To Be Alone Forever ~ No Because Youre Worth More Than That

If you think that your worries, concerns, or relationship status is not on Gods mind, think again. God has so much power that is all-knowing and what concerns you concerns Him. AND He is always aware of what concerns you. Even to the very minor detail of your existence.

Does God want me to be single BIble Verse: Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Fathers care. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So dont be afraid you are worth more than many sparrows.Matthew 10:29-31

God knows when a sparrow dies and He knows how many hairs are on your head. So if He cares that much about a sparrow and your hair, then how much more does He care about your well being, happiness, and your relationship status? I mean there are a lot of hairs on your head think about it, so you dont think he cares who you end up with if you get married or not or if you are alone.

Please dont sell God short and thinking that he is turning a blind eye to your relationship status because that is not the case. Not only does he care but is he also saying just like the sparrows dont sit and worry about every little thing. If you are His child then do not sit and worry about anything just know it is all taken care of and He is working everything thing about in the end.

What Does The Bible Say About Loneliness

This particular form of suffering drives a person to God because in the midst of our isolation there feels as though there is no one left to turn to except God. God nurtures relationships, builds trust, and demonstrates practical mercy for our good and his glory.

Hara Estroff Marano wrote, Evidence has been growing that when our need for social relationships is not met, we fall apart mentally and even physically. There are effects on the brain and on the body.

Loneliness impacts us physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Marano reports that the effects are distinct enough to be measured over time taking a serious toll on health, eroding our arteries, creating high blood pressure, and even undermining learning and memory .

God is moved on behalf of those who feel deeply isolated, even in the presence of others. This article will touch on three themes:

1. The prevalence of Scripture pertaining to loneliness

2. Solitude vs. loneliness in the Bible

3. Spiritual benefits of this emotional reality.

Why Does God Want Me To Be Alone ~ Case And Point Isaac And Rebekah

I want you to read Genesis 24, the story of Isaac and Rebekah.

In verse 3 Isaacs father prayed to God for Isaac to have a wife. To make a long story short, the servant went off to find this wife for Isaac but he was unsure if he was going to even be able to get someone. But instead of getting all upset about it, he did the only thing that he knew how to do and he chose to pray. A very specific prayer in which he asked for a sign from God about Isaacs wife.

Does God want me to be single BIble Verse 14: May it be that when I say to a young woman, Please let down your jar that I may have a drink, and she says, Drink, and Ill water your camels too let her be the one you have chosen for your servant Isaac.

Does God want me to be single BIble Verse 15 Before he had finished praying, Rebekah came out with her jar on her shoulder.

The point of this whole thing is not only does God care about your relationship status and not only does God not want you to be alone, but He can actively choose the person that He wants you to be with. The servant of God was afraid that he would not find anyone or that the woman would not come with him. But then he did the only thing he knew how to do and that was to pray and low and behind here came Rebekah.

Which brings me to my next point

Even Jesus Was Lonely

My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Matthew 15:34 ESV

These were the words spoken by Christ right before He died on the cross. Suffering can be lonely. Dying can be lonely. The Last Supper was a lonely meal for Jesus. He was dining with friends that He had spent the last three years pouring into, and yet, he knew that some would deny him, and one would actively betray him after the meal was over.

Afterward, he took his friends with him to a garden to pray. He told them how burdened his heart was and asked them to watch and to pray. Three times, he had to wake them up when they all fell asleep.

His closest friends surrounded Jesus, yet he felt alone and forsaken. This crowd of friends could not make up for the loneliness of the impending cross. Jesus was forsaken so that he could make a way for us to be reunited with God. He laid down his life for YOU.

God’s Answer To Loneliness

As a follower of Jesus, you are part of Gods Kingdom of priests and you have a role to play. Let me explain. In 1 Peter chapter 2, Peter wrote: you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, Gods special possession, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light. The function of priests was to connect the Jewish people with God. The Law was clear that priests were to be from the tribe of Levi and there were strict rules in place about how and when and who could approach God on behalf of the people. Jesus changed that.

So when you’re sad and lonely, or when you feel so alone, remember that you are called to connect people with God. Intentionally living into your calling will help you overcome chronic loneliness. Being a Kingdom of Priests means that each of us is to connect with God, connect with fellow believers and reach out to connect with people who dont know God.

1. Connect with Godthrough reading Scripture, praying, participating in worship and communion. One practice I enjoy is writing out meaningful Bible verses on index cards, organizing them into topics and then reading several cards at a time or taking one card and memorizing the verse written on it. Sometimes I will do this as I am preparing to head off to sleep.

What Does The Bible Say About Being Single

Verses For When You Are Lonely

As a single woman in the church, its very easy to feel at a disadvantage. With a lot of ministries failing to address singles and undermining their needs, it seems like single people are not valued as much.

The truth is God does not favor married people over singles. But God has equally beautiful promises for single women as well.

The bible encourages men and women to be patient and utilize singleness as a season to pursue their purpose and grow in their faith. In addition, we learn about a number of single women in the Bible, such as Rahab, Esther, or Mary Magdalene, that God uses for his glory.

The bible calls this season a gift from God in multiple bible verses on singleness. He stresses that a single person is at an advantage because, he/she gets to completely devote their life to Christ.

However, that does not mean that you have to remain single. Just like Paul sums it up in 1 Corinthians 7, each person has their own gift and calling from God, which may or may not include marriage.

Therefore, if you are contemplating whether God called you to be single, ask yourself what God has called you to do with your life. Will marriage serve to advance His kingdom? Remind yourself of Gods Promises for Single Women.
