What Does The Bible Say About Oral Sex
There are two veiled passages in the Bible that many theologians believe pertain to oral sex. The first is Song of Solomon 2:3: Like an apple tree among the trees of the forest, so is my beloved among the young men. In his shade I took great delight and sat down, and his fruit was sweet to my taste. The word fruit refers to the male genitals and in biblical references. It is sometimes equated with the male genitals or with semen so, it is possible that this passage is a reference to an oral genital caress.
The second possible veiled reference is found in Song of Solomon 4:16: Awake, north wind, and come, south wind! Blow on my garden, that its fragrance may spread everywhere. Let my beloved come into his garden and taste its choice fruits. These erotic words spoken by Solomons bride are at the climax of a very sensuous love scene. It seems Shulamith asks her husband to blow on her garden and cause its spices to flow out. Of course, one cannot be certain, but it is possible Shulamith is inviting her husband to excite her by caressing her with his mouth. She then invites him to enter her and feast on the pleasures waiting in her garden.
Behold You Are Handsome My Beloved Yes Pleasant Also Our Bed Is Greensong Of Solomon : 16
This, hands down, is one of my favorite verses in the Bible when it comes to cultivating sexual intimacy. While on the surface, it might not seem like much, take a moment to look deeper. First of all, the Bible was translated out of the Hebrew language and the Hebrew word for beloved is “yadid” . It also means favorite and desired.
While many of us aren’tor won’t bevirgins on our wedding night, something that we can definitely strive to be with our spouse is their sexual favorite. Something else that we canand shoulddo is want to make them feel like we desire them. That we crave them. That we long for them. That they are able to ignite sexual urges within us that no one on this planet can.
There’s more, though. Our bed is green. Green is a dope color. It’s not just the color of nature , it also symbolizes health, harmony, safety, growth and fertility. The very first time that I read this verse, I was like, “If I ever get married, I’m getting some green bedding, fa sho.” So married people, even if you only decide to go with a plant, consider also putting something green in your bedroom. It can serve as a reminder that your marriage bed is holistically healthyemotionally, spiritually, sexually and otherwise.
What Does The Bible Say About Sex Outside Of The Marriage
God created man and woman just as He ordained marriage. He also made men and women sexual creatures, therefore He created sex. In Genesis 1:28, God blessed them and said to them, Be fruitful and increase in number fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground. Procreation is one of the reasons that God created sex. This is the way that humans replenish those who die with old age. But God also created sex for a husband and a wife to enjoy. He is not against pleasure and the proof positive is that those who are married are to give to each other their own bodies for the fulfillment of the others pleasures .

When And Why Is Sex Before Marriage A Sin
Is premarital sex a sin? Short answer, yes . But Ill ask you thisdo you actually understand the reason why the Bible asks us to save sex for marriage? I can tell you this muchits not to shame us if we have a past were not so proud of, its not to interject itself in an unhelpful way in our daily lives, its not to make us miserable, and its not a test to see how much we actually love God. It is, in fact, for us, not against or opposed to us.
Sex with anyone other than your spouse will always be sinful. This is because the Catholic Church is very clear that the only context in which sex isn’t sinful, is when it takes place within a marriage.
Biblical Guidance From 1 Corinthians 7
God makes it clear in 1 Corinthians that both husbands and wives have a need for sexual activity resulting in orgasm. In the following passage, God tells a husband to meet the sexual needs of his wife and for a wife to meet the sexual needs of her husband.
Let the husband fulfill his duty to his wife, and likewise also the wife to her husband. The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does and likewise also the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does. Stop depriving one another . . . 1 Corinthians 7:3-5
God even tells us that the husband does not have control of his body. His body belongs to his wife and the wifes body belongs to her husband. God does not mean that we can abuse one another and force the other to have physical relations. A wife is to accommodate her husbands sexual needs and the husband those of his wife.
A woman once came for counseling and complained that her husband did not want to engage in sexual activity with her. Therefore, she wanted to know what to do. Most wives want a physical relationship. How much varies from woman to woman and the same is true from man to man. It is not true that all men want sex all the time. That is a myth. The truth is that we are all different and God wants us to meet the needs of our spouses male or female.

Biblical Sexuality Is A Gift
Romance and God’s gift of sexuality are highly recommended within the commitment of marriage. It’s in the Bible, Hebrews 13:4, NIV. “Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure” I Corinthians 7:3,4, NIV says, “The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband. The wife’s body does not belong to her alone but also to her husband. In the same way, the husband’s body does not belong to him alone but also to his wife.”
God designed sex as part of the unique relationship of marriage. It’s in the Bible, I Corinthians 7:5, TLB. “So do not refuse these rights to each other. The only exception to this rule would be the agreement of both husband and wife to refrain from the rights of marriage for a limited time, so that they can give themselves more completely to prayer. Afterwards, they should come together again so that Satan won’t be able to tempt them because of their lack of self-control.”
To keep from hurting ourselves, sexual desires and activities must be placed under Christ’s control. It’s in the Bible, I Thessalonians 4:3-5, TLB. “For God wants you to be holy and pure and to keep clear of all sexual sin so that each of you will marry in holiness and honornot in lustful passion as the heathen do, in their ignorance of God and his ways.”
What Does It Say About Sex Before Marriage In The Bible
One of the most frequently asked and hardest questions to answer that new and young Christians ask is why is sex before marriage wrong? I asked the same question myself many times to my Christian peers when I first became a Christian since it is obvious that God loves sex since he created it. Sometimes its hard to see why something so natural could be wrong in Gods eyes.

The Bible Says That Marriage Comes From God
First, the Bible says that God created two people to be united into one, and that this relationship is to be honored.
In the first creation story, God creates man and woman together:
God created humankind in his image,in the image of God he created them male and female he created them.
In the second creation story, God forms woman from a rib taken from the human being that God had created , and brings her to him so that the two may become one:
So the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept then he took one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh. And the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man he made into a woman and brought her to the man. Then the man said,
This at last is bone of my bonesand flesh of my flesh this one shall be called Woman, for out of Man this one was taken.
Therefore a man leaves his father and his mother and clings to his wife, and they become one flesh.
In the New Testament, Jesus refers to the second creation story in establishing marriage as a relationship created by God:
Jesus answered, Have you not read that the one who made them at the beginning made them male and female, and said, For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.
And just one more for now. In the letter to the Hebrews in the New Testament, it says:
Does Having Sex Create A Marriage
However, once married, the religious laws and customs of the time strongly prohibited adultery and provided physical and financial protections for the spouses and their children ” rel=”nofollow”> Exodus 20:14, , , , , , , , , , ).
In today’s world, it is the legal marriage that provides similar protections. Merely having sex or living together does not fulfill the functions of the Biblical model of marriage.

Hi Jack,I was married and got divorced and then about two years later I met my current Fiancé, to me I feel like were already married as we act in this way,I have two wonderful children with her,my question is this my mom says that we are living in sin and that we are not protected by God,which I feel that God loves us unconditionally and he knows that we will get married in his eyes as we have a very strong love between her and II,I just dont want to disappoint God as I have grown closer to him tremendously
Sex Positions On The Bed
The Bible clearly refers to at least one sex position and maybe another one. The first one is where husbands and wives lay down together when having sexual intercourse. 2 Samuel 12:24 states that David and Bathsheba laid down together for sexual intercourse.
When David comforted his wife Bathsheba, and went in to her and lay with her and she gave birth to a son, and he named him Solomon. Now the LORD loved him . . . 2 Samuel 12:24
Genesis 39:10 is about Pharaohs wife attempted seduction of Joseph. The verse tells us that Pharaohs wife was begging Joseph to engage in sexual activity with her. Her begging had started in verse 7. In verse 10 we are told Joseph refused to be seduced and 1) lie beside her or 2) be with her.
As she spoke to Joseph day after day, he did not listen to her to lie beside her or be with her. Genesis 39:10
This verse seems to imply that beside her may refer to just foreplay or foreplay and intercourse side-by-side. 2 Samuel strongly suggests that with her refers to sexual intercourse. However, it is not clear if the verse refers to two different positions.

Reason #3 To Abstain: When You Are Asked To Do Something That Dishonors You
Now, if we head on back to the verse that we are really highlighting in this post, we find some important tidbits that we cant overlook. Lets read the first part of the verse again:
Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband. 1 Corinthians 7:3
This is one of several verses we find in the Bible that instructs both husbands and wives to basically treat each other well . We arent to do things to each other that would dishonor the other or hurt the other or disrespect the other. God wants us to show love towards each other in everything that we do.
Unfortunately, there might be those out there reading this who find themselves in a situation where their spouse is asking them to do things that would dishonor or hurt them.
God doesnt desire you to be hurt. He doesnt want you to be abused. He doesnt want you to be shamed. You are part of His precious creation and if your husband is treating you in a way that he himself wouldnt want to be treated, then thats not okay.
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it Ephesians 5:25
I am not, by any means a professional counselor though. So please, if you find yourself in a situation that is abusive and you have already tried to approach your husband about it, seek outside help. Get to a safe place, pray whole-heartily for your husband, and seek help from a Christian marriage counselor.
Come To Terms With Who You Are In Christ
Paul couches his warning against sexual immorality with four striking statements about how God saves .
You were washed. When you trusted in Jesus, his blood purged your filthiness. Believers treasure their washing by refusing to wallow again in the sin Christ died to wash.
You were sanctified. Gods children are special, set apart from the world. Our beloved, unmarried Savior has shown us the beauty of true godliness and taught us to no longer fulfill our lusts . You were justified. In justification, God exonerates us from the death penalty our sins deserved. He cancels our condemnation and tells us to sin no more .
You were bought with a price. At Calvary, God brought his Son to the devils slave auction and left with a vast family of blood-bought children. Gods sons and daughters are too precious to continue doing the devils dirty work.
Sexual sin is dangerous but it need not be damning. Flee sexual immorality. If youve been washed, sanctified, justified, and bought by Jesus blood, you can!

Sex Is For Marriage And Marriage Is For Sex
God wants us to save sex for marriage not because its bad or dirty but because its unique, exclusive, and wonderful. Sex isnt just casual fun. And its not just a feel-good way of expressing mutual love. Its about two people becoming one flesh.
- Jesus says, Have you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh? .
- This fits with the apostle Pauls warning in 1 Corinthians 6:16: Do you not know that he who is joined to a prostitute becomes one body with her? For, as it is written, The two will become one flesh .
- The same concept underlies the commandment against adultery . In the biblical view, adultery includes any sexual activity outside of marriage. This is why the Bible says, Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous .
Sex is a holy mystery. Its a powerful bonding agent that shapes and affects the relationship between a man and a woman as nothing else can.
Thats why the Bible often compares idolatry to the sin of fornication or adultery .
And its why the Bible uses sexual purity and faithfulness between spouses as an image of our relationship with God .
So, what about Isaac and Rebekah, or Joseph and Mary?
Question: Is Oral Sex Between Married Couples Permitted By God
Answer: This is not an easy question to answer, since there isnt a verse that says thou shalt not have oral sex. However, upon a deeper study of Scripture, I do believe that the Bible does address the issue of oral sex.
I do believe that according to this passage in Hebrews, that God is sanctioning sex in marriage, and that it is honorable and right for a husband and wife to enjoy sex with each other. I also believe that God tells married people that they should not deny sex to their spouse except for a short time when one or both of them have devoted themselves to a time of fasting and prayer.
Nevertheless, because of sexual immorality, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband. Let the husband render to his wife the affection due her, and likewise also the wife to her husband. The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. And likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does. Do not deprive one another except with consent for a time, that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer and come together again so that Satan does not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.
You need to start the journey now with an open and honest discussion with your husband. Pray before you approach him, and pray together about this as you study Scripture together.
In Christian love,
