Galatians : 20it Is Christ Who Lives In Me

I am crucified with Christ and it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me and the life which I now live in the flesh I live in faith, the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself up for me.

Here, Paul did not say, I live in a Christ-like way, or, I glorify Christ through my behavior. No, he said, Christlives in me, clearly showing us that Christ lives in His believers. Because He lives in us, the Christian life is not a matter of trying to behave like Christ, but of allowing Him to live in and through us.

In Christ I Am Forgiven

In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of Gods grace Ephesians 1:7

Is your past full of mistakes? Doesnt matter. Who we are in Christ means we are someone who is forgiven. You are redeemed! In fact, Psalm 103:12 tells us as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.

God doesnt hold your sins against you. He forgives you and forgets them entirely!

WHO YOU ARE IN CHRIST: 3 Hour I Am Affirmations From The Bible With Scriptures

In the midst of many voices in our head that wage war against our identity we forget who we are in Christ. I need to remind myself daily that my identity does not lie in my mistakes, my struggles, my embarrassing moments, those discouraging negative voices in my head, etc.

Satan is constantly fighting believers to cause us to lose sight of our true identity. God is constantly pouring out His grace and reminding us of we are. He is constantly reminding me to not dwell on my failures, receive His grace, and press on.

When those voices tell you that you are misunderstood by everyone, God reminds you that He understands you. When we feel unloved, we are reminded that God loves us deeply and unconditionally. When we are engulfed in shame, God reminds us that Christ took upon our shame on the cross. You are not defined by who the world says that you are. You are defined by who Christ says that you are. In Him is where your true identity lies.

Quotes

Outside of Christ, I am weak Inside of Christ I am strong. Watchman nee

My deepest awareness of myself is that I am deeply loved by Jesus Christ and I have done nothing to earn it or deserve it.

Define yourself radically as one beloved by God. This is the true self. Every other identity is illusion.

The more you reaffirm who you are in Christ, the more your behavior will begin to reflect your true identity.

Who I am in Christ is amazing. Who Christ is in me is the real story. It is beyond amazing.

Identity In Christ Scripture

Have you ever found yourself in such a place of pain that you search the Bible for Scriptures on your Identity in Christ to bring you comfort? Or searched for Bible studies on Identity in Christ to bring you a more clear understanding on your identity as a Christian?

Pain and hard life trials seem to have a way of keeping us confused, if we allow them, on our identity in Christ. Who we truly are, because of Jesus, can be unclear and smeared by the trials we go through in life. Society and social media can also confuse us on who we should be, look like and be okay with. Labels that society harshly bombards us with can be overwhelming to the heart.

And well-meaning Christians can also lead us in the wrong direction, harshly judge us for our sin and tear us down. Good thing we do not look at others and focus on Gods word and Christ as our Savior and Christ Identity.

Everything opposite of who I am in Christ thats what I was feeling.

I was not yet strong enough nor knowledgeable in the Word to combat the lies that stole my identity.

And at that moment, God met me. He found me in my pain. He began to remind me of who I was through Him. He showed me who He is and who I am in Him. It was like His love was surrounding me in a security blanket. My identity as a Christian is found in Christ and Him alone.

God Defines My True Identity

Praise God that we are all the same in Christ Jesus! How has it changed ...

People in the Bible struggled with this concept, as well.

Moses asked God Who am I? when commissioned by Him for a great purpose. But Moses said to God, Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the children of Israel out of Egypt ?

God affirms who Moses is by stating His own name. He reassures Moses that He is with him, which gives Moses a new identity, a new purpose, and a new confidence.

God said to Moses, I AM WHO I AM. And he said, Say this to the people of Israel: I AM has sent me to you . Later Moses explained to the people that the Christ would come. The LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your brothersit is to him you shall listen .

In the same way, if I am insecure or unsure of who I am based on the worlds standards, there is no need to fear. Romans 8:37-39 states, No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Our true identity is outlined for us in Gods Word lets see what it has to say about who I am in Christ!

Bible Verses On Our Identity In Christ | Scriptures For Who I Am In Christ (Audio Bible)

Before the world had even been created, God knew and chose those who would be His children through faith, and in the course of time, He called them to Himself. Do we fully understand it? No way! Not until He explains it all in heaven. Do we still believe it? Yes, both through the Word of God and the experience of Gods call upon our lives. Believers are:

  • Foreknown: Romans 8:29 For those whom He foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, in order that He might be the firstborn among many brothers.

  • Elected: 1 Thessalonians 1:4 For we know, brothers loved by God, that He has chosen you.

  • Predestined: Ephesians 1:11 In Him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will

  • Chosen: 1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for His own possession …

  • Romans 9:11 … though they were not yet born and had done nothing either good or bad in order that Gods purpose of election might continue, not because of works but because of Him who calls.

Totally Acceptable To God Through Jesus Christ

Do you have to be perfect to go to heaven? Most say no because no one is perfect. Yet could a perfectly holy God allow anything less than perfection into His presence? No! So therefore, yes, you do have to be perfect. But how could this ever be achieved by an imperfect, sinful creation? In Christ, righteousness and perfection are a gift! His declaration is that believers are forever justified a position that means we are declared righteous. He completely covers our past.

If We Have Sought To Live Christ Then To Die Will Be Gain

Next week Ill deal more with the subject of how death will be gain for the believer. For now Ill make just a few comments. Note that for Paul, to go on living or to die is not a choice between the lesser of two evils. Paul didnt view life as a difficult trial to be endured, with death being a difficult thing as well, but at least a release. Rather, he viewed life as a progressive joy with Christ and death as even greater joy, because he would see Christ face to face and be with Him for eternity.

Give Thanks To The Lord For He Is Good His Love Endures Forever

Jesus is love in action. Gods love is shown through Jesus Christ and love was exemplified in all of Jesus decisions and acts, including his death on a cross. John 3:16 tells us For God so loved the world, that he gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. Romans 5:8 reminds us that God shows His love for us in that while we are still sinners, Christ died for us. There is no love greater than this and it open to all of those who believe.

Bible Verses To Put Life In Perspective

Bible Verse Images â Grover Beach Church of Christ

Hebrews 13:8

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

We can believe this promise! This verse tells us that the Lord is always the same, and He is our Lord forever. No matter how unpredictable things get around us, we can be sure that Jesus Christ will always be there for us.

Hebrews 9:12

He did not enter using the blood of goats and calves, but he entered the Most Holy Place once and for all by his blood, thus obtaining eternal redemption.

The Lord Jesus went into the Holy place and ensured that we would always be saved. This means that no one or thing can take away our salvation. We are safe in Him because of what Jesus did for us, and the blood of the Lamb has always made us clean.

As His gift of salvation for us is permanent, He also gives us the advantage of free will. As Jesus answered our cry for peace, we must also be good stewards of this gift and choose to live by faith.

1 Thessalonians 4:17

After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.

When our Father comes back, it will be a great day and well always be with the Lord. Nothing will ever be able to get between God and us. We will always be around Him. He is and will always be ours.
