Bible Verses About Letting Go And Letting God

A Lesson In Letting Go | Pastor Steven Furtick | Elevation Church

In the Bible, there are several passages that talk about letting go and letting God. For example, Jesus said Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Another example is from 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 which says My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Let go and let God.

God is good all the time, all the time God is good.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

Galatians 6:9-10

The Lord is my chosen portion and my cup thou holdest my lot.

The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places yea, I have a goodly heritage.

Bible Verses About Letting Go And Letting God Take Control

This section is going to be focusing on 7 Bible verses that are all about letting go and letting God work in your life. Letting go is a very hard thing to do, especially when were talking about our problems and how to fix them.

I believe that often times we think Gods not listening or doesnt care because he doesnt fix our problems for us. The truth is that He does care, and He does have a solution for you, but it often isnt the one we expect or desire.

Philippians : 13 ~ Power

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

I always say BE Positive and Youll BE Powerful and positivity comes from faith. As you focus on that which you pray for and have faith it is possible, you will have the power to co-create it in your life. All things are possible for you through Him.

Proverbs 1: 1 Wrathful Words Pose No Threat To The Man Or Woman Who Is Spiritually Inclined

A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

Proverbs 15:1

There are things that can be done by someone whos spiritual and not by someone whos natural. The key is to be supernatural, or spiritual, rather than natural. The natural man cannot help but return evil for evil, but the spiritual man doesnt trade that way.

For the spiritual man or the one who is in Christ, there is no need to trade evil for evil but rather return good for evil. Wrathful words pose no threat to the man or woman who is spiritually inclined, saved by grace, and walks by the Holy Spirit.

When someone who is angry confronts you, dont fight with them. Try and talk to them calmly as itll help calm them down and make their anger go away.

If someone is angry with you, if they use wrathful towards you, the best thing is to refuse to return malice for malice, wrath for wrath, as believers we must learn to respond to negative talk calmly and wisely, for a gentle answer will remove all the fuel from the fire of anger.

A harsh word can cause them to become angry, even if they were not supposed to be angry.

Let Go And Let God Meaning

To let go and let God means we surrender and submit our lives to God and, in trust, let Him direct our paths.

We need to let go of the steering wheel of whatever car we are driving and trust that His driving and His route is best.

Is there a Bible verse that says Let go and Let God?

We wont find this verse in the Bible, although many verses support the meaning.

When Jesus instructed His disciples on how to pray, He said: Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Matthew 6:10 KJV. When we pray these words, we are agreeing with His sovereign plan for us.

That doesnt mean we cant ask Him for what we desire or need. We pray, and then, trusting in His love and care, leave it in His hands.

Letting go doesnt mean leaving your God-given creativity, emotions, drive, ideas, or dreams by the wayside. We simply let Him be the leader in our endeavors.

We use prayer and His word, listening for His guidance, and following where He leads.

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11.

God made this promise to the Jews in exile, but they are just as true for us today.

He knows you and has a plan for you which includes a future and hope Let Him set your agenda and follow it, knowing He walks beside you at all times.

Sometimes Letting Go Requires Us To Repent

Ask for forgiveness. God is faithful to forgive and pour out His love upon you.

20. Hebrews 8:12 For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.

21. Psalm 51:10 Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

22. Psalm 25:6-7 Remember, O LORD, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses for they have been ever of old. Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness sake, O LORD.

You must remember that God loves you greatly.

It is so hard to understand Gods great love for us when we look in the mirror and see our past failures. God loves you so much. Pray for better understanding of His love. His love for you is greater than your regret and pain. Never doubt His love for you. His love is key in letting go.

23. 2 Thessalonians 3:5 May the Lord lead your hearts into a full understanding and expression of the love of God and the patient endurance that comes from Christ.

24. Jude 1:21-22 keep yourselves in Gods love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life. Be merciful to those who doubt.

We Get A New Heart And A New Mind

Your entire attitude of mind changes. Even though you are still tempted, you have a new heart and mind that God has given you, and your desire now is only for the good. Instead of pursuing your old habits and interests, your interest is in the kingdom of heaven and you seek the things which are above with Christ. You no longer have to be a slave to committing sin just because you are tempted. Through the power of the Holy Spirit you can overcome the lusts and desires of your nature.

Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. Isaiah 43:18-19.

I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. Ezekiel 36:26.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation old things have passed away behold, all things have become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17.

I have been crucified with Christ it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. Galatians 2:20.

Cast Your Cares On Him

The word cast in Greek meant to throw upon. I like this word picture. Not a tentative placement thats nearby where you can easily grab it back.

Throw it over to Him. If I want it back, Id have to go to Him and attempt to snatch it out of His hands!

Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you he will never let the righteous fall. Psalm 55:22 .

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7.

Holding onto and stressing about our burdens and struggles shows we arent fully trusting God.

Giving it to God involves action it is a choice.

He doesnt want us to sit passively in our hard circumstances, bearing the weight of them each day. He wants to take your burden from you. Cast your cares upon Him and walk away knowing that He will strengthen and care for you.

Ephesians : 31 Bitterness Can Poison Us

Get rid of all bitterness, passion, and anger. No more shouting or insults, no more hateful feelings of any sort.

Ephasians 4:31

Bitterness is often the root of many emotional outbursts and is too often birthed by a smothering resentment against the injustice or unfairness of another or due to problematic circumstances.

Bitterness is a root that can morph into a number of other sinful attitudes and ungodly practices. It can smolder into deep-seated wrath or mushroom into explosive anger. It can be exhibited in slanderous speech, malicious gossip, or clamorous complaining.

As believers, when we allowed bitterness to take root in our hearts it can grow into a poisonous volcano that spews its toxic venom over all who pass by.

We are instructed as believers to get rid of all bitterness and let go of things that can or will stare up rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. We are exhorted to be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ, God forgave you.

Why?

The prophet Isaiah said, Forget the former things do not dwell on the past.

After medical school and internship, I made so much money that I needed a car.

For about a year, I saved all my earnings hoping that I would get a new car.

And then, I got disappointed by my agent who is a close family member.

My heart was filled with bitterness and unthinkable things came to my mind.

But today, I look back, and Im happy I did not make the wrong decisions.

And then, of course, there are those things we just know we need to let go of. They are not good for us, are poor for our health , or have way too much power and control in our lives than we care to admit.
