Archaeological And Historical Research
Biblical archaeology is the archaeology that relates to and sheds light upon the Hebrew Scriptures and the Christian Greek Scriptures . It is used to help determine the lifestyle and practices of people living in biblical times. There are a wide range of interpretations in the field of biblical archaeology. One broad division includes biblical maximalism which generally takes the view that most of the Old Testament or the Hebrew Bible is based on history although it is presented through the religious viewpoint of its time. It is considered to be the opposite of biblical minimalism which considers the Bible to be a purely post-exilic composition. Even among those scholars who adhere to biblical minimalism, the Bible is a historical document containing first-hand information on the Hellenistic and Roman eras, and there is universal scholarly consensus that the events of the 6th century BCE Babylonian captivity have a basis in history.
Where Is Love First Mentioned In The Bible
If the primary story of the Bible is about God – who loves humanity as a Father – sending His beloved and only begotten Son to die for the world to adopt them into His righteous family, it is fitting the first mention of love is related to family and a father-son relationship.
It comes in Genesis. Abraham waited many years for a child, and he and Sarah had given up. God loved them, and at the respective ages of 100 and 90, as their son Isaac approached manhood, God challenged Abraham. He said, Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you . At the last moment, God spared Isaac, and sent a ram to act as a substitute, in an act which foreshadowed Jesus Christ coming as the perfect substitutionary sacrifice.
A Christian Responds To God’s Calling
God’s Word is quite clear that one cannot just choose to be a Christian! There is a calling or invitation involved. God is not calling all of mankind at this time , nor the particularly rich, famous or powerful of the world .
God most often calls ordinary people who can more readily acknowledge their human weaknesses and learn God’s way. These are people who have made mistakes, know it, yet appreciate the forgiveness that God extends to them . Children who have a parent who is a genuine Christian are all invited by God to also become Christians .
To be a true Christian, a person must changereally change! Acts 2:37-39Acts 2:37-39 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said to Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brothers, what shall we do? Then Peter said to them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is to you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the LORD our God shall call.American King James Version×shows that Christians must “repent” and walk a different way of life. After repentance, a Christian must also be baptized by a servant of Jesus Christ .

Jesus took our sin, took our place by dying for our sins, and He defeated death so that we can live forever with Him in heaven. Thats how much He loves us and wants a relationship with us.

Accomplishments Of Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ’s accomplishments are too numerous to list. Scripture teaches that he was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin. He lived a sinless life. He turned water into wine, healed many sick, blind, and lame people. He forgave sins, he multiplied fish and loaves of bread to feed thousands on more than one occasion, he delivered the demon-possessed, he walked on water, he calmed the stormy sea, he raised children and adults from death to life. Jesus Christ proclaimed the good news of the Kingdom of God.
He laid down his life and was crucified. He descended into hell and took the keys of death and hell. He resurrected from the dead. Jesus Christ paid for the sins of the world and purchased the pardon of men. He restored man’s fellowship with God, opening the way to eternal life. These are just a few of his extraordinary accomplishments.
Although difficult to understand, the Bible teaches and Christians believe that Jesus is God incarnate, or Immanuel, “God with us.” Jesus Christ has always existed and has always been God . For more information about Christ’s divinity, visit this study of the doctrine of the Trinity.
Scripture reveals that Jesus Christ was not only fully God, but fully man. He became a human being so that he could identify with our weaknesses and struggles, and most importantly so that he could give his life to pay the penalty for the sins of all humankind .

Word Counts: How Many Times Does A Word Appear In The Bible
The table below gives some word counts for four popular versions of the Bible. There is no single correct way to translate the ancient Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek Bible manuscripts into English. The grammar, structure, and style of those languages are very different from English, and a literal word-for-word translation is not possible. Therefore, the number of times a particular word appears is usually different for each version of the Bible.
So, in your count you dont have the word LAW! Why not? Is it because you dont want to keep it and therefore believe that it is or was done away with? The LAW is still in effect today as it has been for all time! I also disagree with your statement on getting a correct or even close translation from Hebrew, Aramaic to English!
This list doesnt claim to be any sort of comprehensive list or even a list of important words in the Bible, or anything like that. Its just more of an example of an idea. Im sure anyone could easily find out using google how many times any word appears. We have a long list of articles were working on, or we would add to it now, but will make a note to add some words to it.

It Makes Us Wise Unto Salvation2 Timothy : 15
And that from a babe you have known the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise unto salvation through the faith which is in Christ Jesus.
Without the Word of God, how could anyone know Gods way of salvation? The way of salvation isnt according to our concepts or ideas. The Bible reveals salvation is by faith in Christ. So when we read the Bible, were made wise unto salvation.
What this means for us: This verse was written to Timothy, a young believer who knew the Scriptures from his earliest days. In this regard, Timothy is a good pattern for us to follow. Whether were a new Christian or a mature believer, reading the Bible in a regular way makes us wise. It helps us know how to be saved by believing in Jesus initially, and it continues to make us wise as we walk the path of Gods complete salvation in our Christian life.
Examples Of Old Testament Contradictions
The contradictions start in the opening chapters of the Bible, where inconsistent creation stories are told. Genesis chapter 1 says the first man and woman were made at the same time, and after the animals. But Genesis chapter 2 gives a different order of creation: man, then the animals, and then woman.
Genesis chapter 1 lists six days of creation, whereas chapter 2 refers to the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens. Genesis 1:2-3 claims that God created light and divided it from darkness on the first day but Genesis 1:14-19 tells us the sun, moon, and stars werent made until the fourth day.
Chapter 1 reports that the fruit trees were created before the man, while chapter 2 indicates they were made after him. Genesis 1:20 says the fowl were created out of the waters Genesis 2:19 alleges they were formed from the ground.
Contradictions are also seen in the biblical story of a worldwide flood. According to Genesis 6:19-22, God ordered Noah to bring of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort . . . into the ark. Nevertheless, Genesis 7:2-3 relates that the Lord ordered Noah to take into the ark the clean beasts and the birds by sevens, and only the unclean beasts by twos.
Genesis 8:4 reports that, as the waters of the flood receded, Noahs ark rested on the mountains of Ararat in the seventh month. The very next verse, however, says the mountaintops could not be seen until the tenth month.

Where Did The Word Christian Come From And Why
The phone rang. The lady of the house answered. It was a salesman from a mortgage refinance company.
Do you have a second mortgage on your home?
No, she replied.
Would you like to consolidate all of your debts?
I really dont have any, she replied.
How about freeing up some cash for home improvements?
I dont need any. I just recently had some done and paid cash, she parried.
There was a brief silence and then he asked, Are you looking for a husband?
The lady sent a message loud and clear. It was obvious, at least to the salesman, that this lady has values that in many ways define her. Her words were backed up by her actions. As someone once said, talk is cheap because supply exceeds demand.
What kind of message are we sending? The Bible enlightens us where the word Christian came from in Acts 11:26. And it came about that for an entire year they met with the church, and taught considerable numbers and the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.
The city named the disciples and church. They community named them Christians. Why? Because of the message they were sending.
God wants more than belief and worship in church. He wants faith and love in action outside of the church. God desires to connect the message with the audience through the applied practice of Christianity. After all, most people know what you are by what they see, not what they hear.
Doug sent a message that was loud and clear Christ.
