Bible Verses About Evil And Evil Doers

What the Bible Says About Evil Spirits

A few weeks ago, a 6-year-old girl was rushed into the hospital .

When she presented, she couldnt stand upright and was in severe pain.

Her mother stood by her side and was concerned.

As she initially described what happened, she said she had run into a pot of boiling water.

And because of that, she sustained significant burns to large parts of her body.

Quickly, my team and I resuscitated the young girl and treated her wounds.

But as each day passed, we began to realize that the mother was lying.

The mechanism of injury to the patient didnt make sense.

And so, one of my colleagues decided to ask the little girl some questions.

For days, she was unable to speak or say anything because she was afraid of her mum.

But surprisingly, she found her voice and decided to tell all.

Her mum had gotten angry with her for coming home late.

As she said, she boiled water and poured it on her body.

In fact, she didnt blink an eye until the next day when she rushed her to the hospital.

How could anyone be so evil and wicked?

What does the bible say about evildoers and their reward?

Thankfully there are bible verses about evildoers we can learn from.

As Christians, we must be an example to others.

We must love others wholeheartedly and treat them well.

There is no room for repaying evil with evil.

I have put together bible verses about evil to inspire you.

whether it is good or evil.

    The bottom Line

There is nothing hiding under the sun.

God will judge everyone who hurts us.

D Pray For People Who Have Problems

Instead of rejoicing when we hear of people who have problems, andinstead of maliciously spreading evil reports about them, we should pray fortheir welfare.

Luke 6:27,28 – Even those who persecute us and misuse us should betreated with love. We should pray for them and seek God’s blessing on them. Pray they will receive what is truly good forthem.

Luke 23:34 – Jesus prayed for the forgiveness of the very people whokilled Him. He was our example in suffering . He did notrevile or say that He wanted things to happen contrary to their well being. So we shouldpray for those who wrong us to receive what is truly good for them, and itis always good for sinners to be taught to repent and be forgiven.

It is not easy to sincerely pray for people and then turn around andmaliciously slander them. When we hear reports of people who have sinned orhave other problems, an attitude of love and prayer will help us avoid manyof the sinful attitudes that lead to slander.

    Things The Bible Calls Evil

Most of us know that the Bible is sometimes also called The Good Book. I believe it is referred to as such because it is the Word of God and God is good. Even so, we do see bloodshed in the way of murders, rapes and wars. There are also many accounts of lies and other evil deeds that we can read from this good book. It is sad to know that many people even do these horrible things because they believe God told them to do it! The fact of the matter is that we must accept the evil with the good of the Bible or else the honesty of Gods Word might be missed because sometimes that evil is turned around and used for good.

Genesis 50:20But as for you, ye thought evil against me but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.

Truth be told, there are so many things that the Bible calls evil, so for the purposes of this article, I will list just 7 things the Bible calls evil.

God Did Not Spare His Own Son

The cross speaks to our theology of suffering in at least two ways. First, it shows us that God can will something to happen that he opposes. Proverbs 6:16-17 tells us that God hates “hands that shed innocent blood.” And yet he sent his Son to suffer precisely that fate. Is this a mystery? Absolutely. But it is not nonsense. We can look at evil and with no contradiction say, “This is wrong, and God has willed that it take place.” Listen to how Peter describes the crucifixion: “This Jesus, delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and killed ” .

Second, the cross demonstrates that God regards our affliction not as something strange to the palette, but as a cup he has drunk to the dregs. By giving up his own Son, God entered into our pain. He knows what it’s like to suffer loss. But he also did more. By putting his Son to grief, God turned grief on its head. “But he was wounded for our transgressions he was crushed for our iniquities upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his stripes we are healed” . This brings us to the final point.

    B Carefully Examine Our Motives

To correct our speech, we must first correct our hearts.

Matthew 12:33-37 – What the mouth speaks depends on the condition ofthe heart. So to correct our speech, we must correct our hearts. We havelearned that slander is often caused by sinful motives, so before we speakwe must carefully examine our hearts to be sure we speak from propermotives.

Speak from love for the good of others.

What should be the correct motive for speaking about others?

Matthew 22:39 – Love your neighbor as yourself. If we cease beingprimarily concerned for pleasing ourselves, we can learn to be concernedabout what is best for all concerned. It may help us improve our attitude ifwe put ourselves in the other person’s place: if I had this problem, whatwould be the proper, Biblical, loving way for others to deal with it?

Ephesians 4:29 – Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, butwhat is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to thehearers. The goal is to edify others and impart grace – that is to buildothers up and help them be right according to God’s word.

What Does The Bible Mean When It Says God Sent An Evil Spirit On Certain People

What Does the Bible Say About Evil?

Question: In Judges 9:23, I Samuel 16:15ff and 18:10 it is said that God sends evil spirits on people. Doesnt this support the idea that everything Satan and demons do is under Gods sovereign control?

Answer: Ill make six points in response to this question.

    1) If everything Satan and demons do is under Gods sovereign control, wed have to say God has a specific good reason for everything Satan and demons do. This in turn entails that we can no longer explain any evil in the world by appealing to nefarious spirits or even evil human decisions for that matter for behind everything spirits and human agents do is Gods sovereign control. If theres a different way of interpreting these texts, therefore, I think it should be preferred.

    2) The fact that Yahweh fights evil spirits throughout the Bible is enough to suggest that spirits arent always under his sovereign control. Most importantly, all of our thinking about God must be centered on the person of Jesus Christ, and Jesus uniformly manifests the will of God by coming against evil spirits. He never suggests that evil spiritual agents are carrying out the will of God.

    3) Many scholars argue that the word spirit used in some Old Testament passages doesnt refer to a spirit being, but is rather just an ancient way of personifying human attitudes. So, for example, the TNIV translates Judges 9:23, God stirred up animosity between Abimelek and the citizens of Shechem

A Don’t Get Involved When Others Spread Slander

Not only are there people who just enjoy spreading dirt about others, there are also people who enjoy listening to the dirt.

Do not encourage or cooperate with a slanderer.

Romans 1:29,30,32 – Those who consent with peoplewho backbite and whisper, are themselves guilty of sin. Talebearers musthave someone to tell their slander to. By giving them a listening ear, weencourage their evil.

Instead of listening, we should challenge their evidenceand their motives for their accusations. Ask them, “Howdo you know this is true? And why are you telling me this?” Whatproof do they have, and what good are they doing by spreading suchinformation to you? If they cannot properly defend their speech, we shouldrebuke them .

Limit your association with people known to be persistent slanderers.

Proverbs 20:19 – He who goes about as a talebearer reveals secrets therefore do not associate with one who flatterswith his lips . Sometalebearers are also flatterers. 1 Corinthians 5:11 – If a member of the church persists in revilingothers, he should be withdrawn from.

Evil Doers Come To God On Our Own Terms

If you try to get right with God on your own you will fall flat on your face. The Bible teaches us that God is far from the wicked. It doesnt matter if you pray, go to church, give, etc. If your sins have not been atoned for, you are guilty before God. You cant bribe a good judge. In fact, bribing only results in a greater punishment. The good and honest judge will not turn a blind eye.

    12. Proverbs 21:27 The sacrifice of an evil person is detestable, especially when it is offered with wrong motives.

    13. Proverbs 15:29 The LORD is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous.

    14. Amos 5:22 Even though you offer up to Me burnt offerings and your grain offerings, I will not accept them And I will not even look at the peace offerings of your fatlings.

Ephesians 6: 1018 10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His omnipotence. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you may withstand the schemes of the devil. 12 For their warfare is not against flesh and blood, but against rulers, against powers, against the powers of this world of darkness, and against the spiritual powers of evil in the kingdoms of heaven. 13 Therefore put on all the weapons of God, that you may stand and stand in the day of evil, after you have done all. 14 Stand therefore firm with the belt of truth tied about your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and set your feet with the goodwill that proceeds from the gospel of peace. 16 Take also the shield of faith, with which you can quench all the fiery darts of evil. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 And at every opportunity pray in the spirit with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be attentive and always pray for all the Lord’s people. John 3:1517 15 that all who believe in him may have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that all who believe in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

    Christian Quotes About Evil

You cannot make men good by law. C.S. Lewis

When a man is getting better he understands more and more clearly the evil that is still left in him. When a man is getting worse he understands his own badness less and less. C.S. Lewis

The confession of evil works is the first beginning of good works. Augustine

Good can exist without evil, whereas evil cannot exist without good.

Satan is ever seeking to inject that poison into our hearts to distrust Gods goodness especially in connection with his commandments. That is what really lies behind all evil, lusting and disobedience. A discontent with our position and portion, a craving from something which God has wisely held from us. Reject any suggestion that God is unduly severe with you. Resist with the utmost abhorrence anything that causes you to doubt Gods love and his lovingkindness toward you. Allow nothing to make you question the Fathers love for his child.

The truest definition of evil is that which represents it as something contrary to nature. Evil is evil because it is unnatural. A vine which should bear olive-berries an eye to which blue seems yellow, would be diseased. An unnatural mother, an unnatural son, an unnatural act, are the strongest terms of condemnation. Frederick W. Robertson

Why Is There Evil In The World According To The Bible

Why does God allow evil? Man has free will to do what he desires, but man will only do what the nature of his heart allows him to do. One thing that we cant deny is that man is evil. God has chosen not to program us like robots. God wants us to love Him with a genuine love. However, the problem is that man hates God and is inclined to do evil. People like marijuana even though smoking weed is a sin. People practice voodoo even though voodoo is evil. The world loves pornography even though porn is a sin. Cheating in a relationship is a badge of honor for men.

Why is there evil? There is evil because you and I are in this world. God allows it out of His patience and grace, waiting for us to repent. 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

Most of us wont think of ourselves as evil because we have been comparing ourselves with others. We need to compare ourselves with God and His holy standard and then you will start to notice your need for a Savior. We think evil things against our closest friends. We have bad motives behind our greatest acts. We have done things that we wouldnt tell our closest friends. Then, God says, Be holy. I demand perfection!

    1. Genesis 6:5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
