The Keepers Of The Law Are Its Corrupters
In verse 15, Jesus indicted His opponents as playing before the wrong audience, according to the wrong standards or rules. In verses 16-18, Jesus accuses those who prided themselves as the custodians of the Law as being its corrupters:

Lazarus become so ill that his sisters sent for Jesus. The story of the death of Lazarus is found in John 11:1-12:9. When Jesus heard that Lazarus was unwell, he stayed put for two more days. The rich man incorrectly saw his worldly wealth as proof of Gods love and blessing. Also, he believed the impoverished, like Lazarus, were cursed by God. However, as the apostle James advised, You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves in the day of slaughter . Not only do fortunes not get one into heaven, but they have the potential to separate a person from God like few other things. “but the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth and the desires for other things come in and choke the word, making it unfruitful.” . It is surely not impossible for the wealthy to enter heaven , but Scripture is plain that it is very troublesome .
Faithful disciples of Christ will not ignore the suffering of the poor like the rich man in this parable did.
