The True Bible Sabbath

Does the Bible Predict the End of the World? – BibleProject Podcast on Apocalypse

The Sabbath day was made at creation. In Gen. 2:2 it says that “and on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made and he rested on the SEVENTH DAY from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.” NOTE: Sanctify means to set apart as holy for a holy purpose consecrate. NOTE: God rested on the seventh day, not because he needed rest, but to set an example for us. God knew that we would need a day set aside from our hard work in which to rest, worship Him, and to gain spiritual strength. The Sabbath was created to be a blessing and a joy to man. “The Sabbath was created for man.” Mark 2:27.

The Sabbath is a memorial to creation. Ex. 20:8-11 says “Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work. But the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God: In it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates. For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.” NOTE: The Lord blessed and hallowed the seventh day Sabbath.

The First Sign Of The Lords Return: Earthquakes Famines Plagues And Wars

Matthew 24:68 says: And you shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that you be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. War has broken out frequently in recent years, such events as the overthrow of the Taliban regime in Afghanistan, the conflict between India and Pakistan, the United States invasion of Iraq, and the continuously escalating war between Israel and Palestine. Plagues, fires, floods, and earthquakes are also to be seen everywhere. Of particular note is the novel coronavirus, which broke out in Wuhan, China in 2019 and has since spread throughout the world. There were also severe forest fires in Australia in September 2019, while a severe outbreak of locusts occurred in East Africa on the other side of the planet, with many countries now facing famine. In January 2020, Indonesia suffered a flood, and Newfoundland in Canada was hit by a once-in-a-century snowstorm. Earthquakes have occurred in Elazig in Turkey, southern Cuba in the Caribbean, and elsewhere. From these signs, it can be seen that this prophecy has been fulfilled.

Religions On The End Of The World

Since the beginning of recorded time, people have been thinking about the end of the world. As such, the planets major religions have formulated elaborate viewpoints on this topic. In Christianity, the Bibles Book of Revelation details Armageddon, the final battle on Earth between the forces of God and Satan. Hinduism offers a version in which Vishnu returns to battle evil as a figure on a white horse. The doomsday beliefs of some ancient religions can still be felt in modern secular society, as was the case with the conclusion of the Mayan calendar cycle that predicted the end of the world in 2012.

According to a 2007 article in The New York Times, nostics predicted the imminent arrival of Gods kingdom as early as the first century. The Shakers thought the world would be over in 1792, while the Jehovahs Witnesses pegged various years between 1914 and 1994 as an end date. More recently, some doomsday forecasters have focused on the year 2012. Citing the conclusion of a lengthy cycle in the ancient Mayan calendar, certain theorists anticipate the end of life as we know it on . These theorists believe that on December 21, 2012, the Earth will experience unprecedented, cataclysmic disasters ranging from massive earthquakes and tsunamis to nuclear reactor meltdowns. In order to prepare for these events, some proponents of the 2012 prophecy have already begun stocking up on survival supplies.

Predictions of apocalyptic events that would result in the extinction of humanity, a collapse of civilization, or the destruction of the planet have been made since at least the beginning of the Common Era. Most predictions are related to Abrahamic religions, often standing for or similar to the eschatological events described in their scriptures. Christian predictions typically refer to events like the rapture, the Great Tribulation, the Last Judgment, and the Second Coming of Christ. Many religious-related end-time events are predicted to occur within the lifetime of the person making the prediction, who often quote the Bible, and in particular the New Testament, as either the primary or exclusive source for the predictions. Often this takes the form of mathematical calculations, such as trying to calculate the point where it will have been 6000 years since the supposed creation of the Earth by the Abrahamic God, which according to the Talmud marks the deadline for the Messiah to appear. Predictions of the end from natural events have also been theorised by various scientists and scientific groups. While these disasters are generally accepted within the scientific community as plausible “end of the world” scenarios, the events and phenomena are not expected to occur for hundreds of thousands or even billions of years from now.

Living A Powerless Life

Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.Isaiah 40:28-29

Whenever one entertains a discussion on living a life with POWER, it seems there will be at least ONE person who explains that THIS PRESENT LIFE is meant to be lived without powerand then explains WHY.

If we lived lives filled with power, there would be no challenges!

The problem-solvers of the world can handle most ANYTHING that comes their way! Who needs POWER?

You were supposed to live a life without POWER. Its the way God set up things.

Of course, IF God had meant for His people to live their lives without His power, Gods Word would be silent on the matter.

BUT IT IS NOT.

According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.2PETER 1:3-4

And yes, SOME of those exceeding great and precious promises of God have to do with our eternal salvation.

BUT more than a few have to do with God PROMISING his assistance and protection to those who are His.

But do they?

Is Time Running Out

Reagan expressed concern that Armageddon may occur in our generation. His defense secretary, Casper Weinberger, observed: “I believe the world is going to endby an act of God, I hopebut every day I think time is running out” .

Former French president Valery Giscard d’Estaing commented on the state of humanity: “The world is unhappy because it doesn’t know where it is going and because it senses that, if it knew, it would discover that it was heading for disaster” .

Former U.S. vice president Al Gore speculated on the longevity of the world: “Two world wars, the Holocaust, the invention of nuclear weapons, and now the global environmental crisis have led many of us to wonder if survival . . . is possible” .

Indeed, experts from many fields share the concern that we could see the end of civilization as we know it. These concerns have created an age of anxiety, especially in a world where so little seems certain anymore.

Many others, however, say there is no need to be concerned about the world ending. They point to epidemics of end-time panic that have raged in the past. They list many failed past predictions regarding the end of the world.

Such criticism is justified to a point. Doomsday predictions have abounded for centuries date-setters have been wrong many times. The problem with most of these prognostications was that, though well intentioned, the specific chronological details were the ideas of men who badly misinterpreted information in Scripture.

What Are The Signs Of The End Of The World According To Bible

HOW THE WORLD WILL END ACCORDING TO THE BIBLE

Biblical Signs of the End of the World and Christs Return. Just before Jesus return: Then He continued by saying, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.

When Does The World End

People have been trying to predict the end of the world since the first millennium. Sometimes these predictions came as a result of dire circumstances. In 1666, many people in London, England thought the world was going to end soon because nearly a quarter of Londoners had died from bubonic plague, the Great Fire of London destroyed more than 80% of the city and 666 appeared in the year.

Other end-times claims were fabricated under stranger circumstances. In 1806, the Prophet Hen of Leeds laid several eggs that displayed Christ is coming, which signaled the world would end soon. It was later discovered to be a hoax, but it made the prediction no different than all of the others. They were all false.

The Bible plainly states the world will come to an end one day. In fact, the universe has an expiration date as well. The heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up .

So when does the world end? Only God knows the future. Not only that, the future rests in His hands and He alone controls it. The end will come at a moment appointed by God. On that day, Jesus Christ will return to earth to put an end to evil and bring justice and peace.

You will be hated by all for my names sake. But the one who endures to the end will be saved .

Make sure you trust Jesus for your salvation and give your life to Him today.

How Should We Welcome The Return Of The Lord

From the facts listed above, we can see that six signs of the return of the Lord have already appeared. Now is the critical moment in welcoming the coming of the Lord. What must we do before we are able to welcome the return of the Lord? The Lord Jesus gave us the answer to this question long ago.

In the world today, only The Church of Almighty Godtestifies that the LordAlmighty God incarnatehas already returned. Almighty God has already expressed millions of words, and these words are published on the Internet for people from all countries and walks of life to inspect. One by one, the many people of each nation who long for truth come in hopes of hearing Gods voice and welcoming the Lord. As it is said in the Bible, Behold, the bridegroom comes go you out to meet him. If we simply read more of the words expressed by Almighty God, listening to discern whether they are Gods voice, we will then be able to determine whether or not the Lord has returned. As the Lord Jesus said in John 10:27: My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. I believe that as long as we have a heart of humbly seeking, we can recognize the voice of God and welcome the return of the Lord.

The Millennial Reign Of Christ

After the Tribulation, the Millennial reign will be ushered in by Jesus. The Millennial reign of Christ will last for a literal 1,000 years and Jesus will be the literal, physical King . During this time, Satan is locked away and will not be released until the end of the 1,000 years to test the nations.

The Millennial reign of Christ will be amazing as Jesus will literally walk with mankind again. Despite Jesus being physically ruling as King, people will still reject Him and choose to follow Satan. There will still be death in the Millennial Kingdom as well as life with new babies born.

However, after the Millennial, no more babies will be born, and nobody will die. After the Millennial Kingdom ends, there will be the Great White Throne Judgment, in which all unbelievers will be thrown into the lake of fire for eternity .

All believers will enter the Eternal State, in which the Bible tells us this will be the home of righteousness .

Signs Of The End Time

Bible Prophecy and the End of the World

When Jesus’ disciples asked about the end of the age , He responded by listing several warning signs. The first would be massive religious deception, including religious teachers who, while claiming to represent Him, would not follow His teachings but would deceive many through a counterfeit Christianity.

He also said there would be many wars and other conflicts between nations and ethnic groups. He also spoke of famines, massive disease epidemics and earthquakes.

The problem with trying to precisely predict the end from these signs is that these trends and conditions have been with us in varying degrees from the first century until now. This helps explain why end-time fervor has arisen repeatedly for two millennia.

Many believe that man’s development of modern weaponry with the ability to annihilate human life is a sure sign of the last days. As for this destructive potential being a sign of the end, Jesus did say that “if that time of troubles were not cut short, no living thing could survive” .

Our awesome scientific and technological advancements have bequeathed to this and future generations a heritage over which hangs the ultimate sword of Damocles. Indeed, without miraculous intervention from God the human race has no assurance of survival.

Prophecies About The End Of The World

Recently, some have found in the coronavirus pandemic signs of the end of the world. Obscure writings have been resurrected to support these claims.

For example, Business Insider noted that self-proclaimed psychic Sylvia Browne was also said to have predicted a global pandemic similar to the coronavirus.

In her 2008 book, End of Days: Predictions and Prophecies About the End of the World, she wrote: In around 2020, a severe pneumonia-like illness will spread throughout the globe, attacking the lungs and bronchial tubes and resisting all known treatments.

Though her book shot up best-seller lists in March 2020 and physical copies were selling for hundreds of dollars, her foresight about epidemics was by no means unique. Bill Gates and many experts on infectious diseases have been predicting something like the coronavirus pandemic for many years.

Plus, Browne, the author and psychic, was consistently criticized for the inaccuracy of her prophecies when she was alive. She even predicted shed die of old age at 88she died at 77 in 2013 .

Certainly, Sylvia Browne was not alone in pointing to the end of the world. Many others have and will continue to predict the end of life as we know it, the end of days or the extinction event.

Some may base their predictions on Nostradamus or the Mayans or tea leaves or crop circles. But many say they base their predictions on the Bible.
